Kerosene had been smart in his initial silence for the sake of the prey; but Tonravik thought more of what could be cost. And soon she heard him, his impressive snarl. Tonravik was not immortal and almighty (though she was mighty), and appreciated his presence. He certainly helped the cause, that was for sure. It headed away from the Spine, and in time she, too, relaxed. 

She did not feel his eyes, but when she turned he was looking to her. She exhaled heavily, and sniffed... The herd had moved. She looked over her shoulder. The trip had not been in vain; they had warded off a potential threat to she and hers. 

So Tonravik looks to him. “Hungry?” The question was loaded; she did not feed lone wolves. But his assistance had been noted, and Tonravik imagined he could be useful yet.
