With it being bigger, it would provide more meat. It looked as though one of it's rear legs weren't working properly. In a split second, he bounded to it from his position. He anticipated it trying to get away, and pounced in front, turning his body to face it before snapping his jaw on the hares head. It was all over for the hare in that last second.
