It didn't take long for a pack wolf to spot her predicament and approach. The girl nearly sagged with relief, particularly when she noted the man's affable demeanor, even if she couldn't understand his words through his accent. Had there been less distance between them she might have been able to understand him, but their distance coupled with the low, constant roar of the ocean and the sighing of the wind made such things impossible. Even so, it seemed he was here to help.
Thank the gods.
"Can you see a path?" she called down, raising her voice in an effort to be heard clearly. Her own tail wagged once as a sign of her gratitude for his presence. She might have lowered her head in deference had she not been nervous that doing so would upset her balance. Her hope was that this stranger might be able to see a path that she could not. If there was just a place that she could set her paws off the ledge without the rock giving way beneath her, she'd be able to carefully pick her way down to the sand.
