They’ve exchanged their names and friendly gestures and Coq gives her another smile. “I’m not really headed anywhere,” he comments, feeling the free range over the last little while. He misses somewhere reliant to rest his head but he still enjoys the freedom of seeing things he’s never seen before and, if he settles down, may never see again. “And I was born on a mountain and lived there most my life, until recently,” he says after a beat though he can’t help but wonder—with her timing—if she has another meaning behind her words than simple conversation.
