Samani could not help but to smile at her mother’s caribou call. She lifted her head, considering making an attempt for herself. When her cheeks burned, she opted against it. Instead, the moon child waved her tail. 

They moved ahead. Samani admired the way her mother could follow their targeted scent. Kukutux, even pregnant, was an impressive and beautiful sight. 

When the figure of the stag came into view, Samani stopped. The deer had a set of antlers that stood impressively upon his head. The girl sniffed at the tracks he had left. Her gaze shifted toward her mother with excitement. 

Mighty… she whispered softly.
