Inji eagerly takes in every twangy word that comes from Tuna's mouth. Wine, good food, jewels; sex. This was all common among most places she had worked in, although never quite so lavish. 

I'm used to it, a laugh, velvety and light. kinda, at least. My momma and my auntie used to go on these... outings, they'd say, with the local men, and wouldn't come back until the morning. I learned what they were doing soon enough. the thought brings a shiver down her bony spine. My auntie liked it, but my momma used to come home and cry afterward. It was kinda sad.
