The warmth of the embraced washed over her, then they both released. He spoke softly through a cracking voice, and assured her that she will later learn in time and as such, she would wait patiently. “That is fine. For now, I am happy to see you.”
She listened to his words and nodded, then followed him over to his resting spot. He slowly curled up in the sand and she did the same, gently laying her head over his. Like mother would have done she shushed him, “Shh,” she lulled softly, “rest now my sweet John, find peace.” She laid comforted feeling his breaths rise and fall against her own body.
Like two golden stars, they shone in the warm morning sunlight. As the last few rays began to rise over the horizon, lighting the sea and sky.
