As soon as she was able to gather the energy, Rosalyn buried the dead without names and without ceremony.  Two had obviously never been meant for life and two had simply, be it her age, the stress she'd been unable to shed, the fight, or her own body's shortcomings, not made it to the end.

There was little sadness in her over this, though.  She'd thought her womb held nothing but death, and for weeks had prepared to deliver the worst outcome, for both them and potentially herself.  The birth had been hard on her, and she lay exhausted still as she stared at the children who nestled with them.  But she couldn't stop looking at the perfect little faces.

@Reyes, She said softly, running a tongue over him gently.  He was small but obviously hale, a survivor.  A prince for sure.

And her wife.... four healthy children.  She could scarcely believe it.  Silently and gently, she pressed her muzzle to @Erzulie's flank, feeling the rise and fall and listening to the gentle sounds of their children.

This was a new start for her.  A new chance to shed whatever shit followed and to be a mother who her daughters and sons would be proud of.  She gave each of them a brush as well - @Marisol, little sun spot.  @Clementine and @Scarab, both nearly blending with their mother's light fur.  And @Nieve, another little girl, beautiful and golden.

Mi cielo, she said softly, lowering her head so that as she lay, she could look at them all.  She had no idea what she was doing, and no experience to draw from, but the intensity she felt for them seemed a good place to start.
