there are so many of your posts worthy of kudos, but erzulie's was a long time coming. i just wasn't sure how to write it out. your writing is pure poetry, like another poster said - but i think one of the best things is, you inspire me (and others) to be a better writer. you and your characters are incredible. <3

Second of all. Thank you. Thank you for all the wonderful, incredible threads. Erzulie leaves a huge hole in her passing. She was fundamental to so many characters - you took this little sea-lost lady, and you turned her into a powerhouse. Remember her first thread with Roz? Remember how she fell perfectly in step with the crew at Ironsea? Except for Sandpiper - I will never forget that SICK burn Erzulie gave her. Actually, I'm going back to find it and kudos it now. And -- look how integral Erzulie became to so many characters. Her presence enlivened and enriched so many of mine. When Ironsea disbanded and Erzulie/Roz went up the coast and found Caiaphas - remember Erzulie taking care of Phas?! Oh, I truly do not think that Caiaphas would have turned into who she did if she had not met Erzulie that one day. AND HOW THEY FOUGHT FOR EVERYTHING!! RALESKA, THE SOUND, DRAGEDA!! And then when they won, how Erzulie weathered the storm that was constant loss, children missing, deaths (I blame men and bears, mostly) - Erzulie stuck through it all, founding a legacy alongside Rosalyn with a booming family full of unique and incredible characters, each with their own gift to bring to us readers... Without batting an eye Erzulie sacrificed everything for her family. There are few threads I treasure more than the threads I had with Val and Erzulie - remember when she helped get the crab off his stupid face.. ;__; I am getting sentimental now. But truly - thank you for everything Ebony, and while I am so sad to see Erzulie go, what a spectacular way to tie in this storied and incredible character. A bear chased them out from Ironsea, a bear chased them in AS, and now a bear sees her end. Sapphique and the Teekons were lucky to have Erzulie and Val was lucky to have her as his maman.
