All Welcome
ezra awakens with a small start, shrugging out of his den. he takes a deep breath of the morning air, thick with sweet dew stirred beneath his steps as he prowls towards a food cache. he has stayed in fjorneska longer than he had originally anticipated and yet even with his current upset and begrudging acceptance of solharr's return, the loyalty he'd felt broken ... a small yawning chasm where it had once been solid ground, he stays.

because he was loyal to fjorneska itself, as a whole.

they'd taken him in and helped him when they hadn't needed to and that matters to ezra. more than his own teenage angst.

he takes a small rabbit from the cache, making quick work of the meal, noting to himself to replace it in the afternoon after his patrol.

Built as she was for nonstop travel, Journey reached the borders ahead of her feline friend. Or, perhaps, it was due to the delicate poppy chains that the great cat carried in her jaw. Already, several had come apart, leaving a trail of orange flowers in her wake.

"It makes you look less intimidating," Journey insisted as the lion caught up, ears already slicked back in irritation. "Now smile — no murder eyes!"

The mountain lion forced her ears back into the upright position and attempted to look less grumpy. The effect was helped by the flower chains hanging from her fearsome jaws.

Pleased, Journey tipped back her head to howl for an audience.

After her morning in Solharr’s company, she felt herself pulled to the borders, her paws itching to pace. Not because there was discomfort, but her soul got a little restless from time to time. Why not use it to help along the borders?

The wind-swept woman stepped through the dens, noticing that Ezra’s scent had left its trail from his den to a nearby cache. Fleur had not seen the male following Solharr’s gift-accompanied apologies, and she had hoped to catch up with him.

It was surely coincidental that a howl rose up, requesting an audience of those within the walls of the Quarry. She woofed to him once her eyes landed on his form, his back turned to her, hoping that he would come with her to see who could possibly be at their borders.

She howled in acknowledgment of the disembodied request, paws surging faster.

a 'woof' snags ezra's attentions just seconds before the howl does. roving thoughts are shuffled to the side as his eyes take in fleur, her intention clear: the borders. ezra'd been heading their anyway, so he follows dutifully along.

in the moments the strange pair come into his line of sight, he is glad he did though there is a tension in his body as his eyes take in the sight of the big cat; stranger sight to see a chain of flowers clasped betwixt its mighty jaws.

the wolf at the cat's side seems at ease, which only serves to make it all the stranger to ezra.

ezra is quiet, though lingers close to fleur; slipping into the role of silent bodyguard for the pack's new queen and solharr's new wife.
