On the side bar, you might have noticed the "Recognition" box, which features Crazy Writers (of the Week/Month), Member of the Quarter and Character of the Quarter. How does one achieve these awards?

Getting onto the Crazy Writer leader board is simply a matter of writing! The forum automatically live updates the stats for each week and month, based off the number of posts on accounts associated with a particular email address.

OTQs work slightly differently, as they are not automated. During each quarter, the administration encourages the membership to submit nominations for each of these. It's as easy as naming a player or character and sharing why you think they would make a good pick. We then close nominations and vote on a finalist among ourselves, then update the information on the 1st day of each quarter (Jan. 1, Apr. 1, Jul. 1, Oct. 1).

To submit (a) nomination(s), simply send a PM to anyone on staff with a name and a short blurb about the character or player in question!

The quarterly winners will receive recognition in the form of a short blurb singing their praises, as well as a permanent acknowledgement in our Hall of Fame seen below. Please note that we don't log the CWs, since the board keeps a live running total for us at all times (in other words, see the sidebar at any given time to see who's currently in the lead!).

Please don't send PMs to this account, as we don't check it very often and they may go unread! Instead, direct admin inquiries to our personal accounts as listed on the staff directory. Thank you!

MAY 2016

We wanted to recognize Lauren for her engagement with the community first and foremost. She responds often to plot requests and otherwise immerses herself with her fellow players and their plots. She is a phenomenal writer who is not afraid of letting her characters suffer the consequences of a juicy plot. She embodies the traits we love to see in the members of our community.
Charon is easily one of the site's most compelling characters. He has developed totally organically, from a wee pup to the literal king of the mountain. Some fictional characters fall prey to "Mary Sue Syndrome"; Charon is the very opposite. He has been richly developed by his player (Iris) to have many dimensions. His flaws give him depth, making the freckled Alpha perfect in his imperfection.

JUNE 2016

Java is one of our most involved, active and immersive members, with an entire crew of interesting and dynamic characters. She isn't stingy with her amazing graphics skills, sharing them freely with other players. She's not one to shy away from a juicy plot (or whumps!). We wanted to recognize her for being a great example of an exemplary and well-rounded member of our community.
Saena is an organically developed character, literally developed from the ground up with realistic and intriguing strengths and weaknesses. She's dealt with a lot of drama and conflict in her two years of life and it's been a pleasure watching her grow and develop through these trials and tribulations. She was one of the first pack-born pups in the game, as well as the first pack-born pup to have her own pack-born pups. She's a cornerstone of Wolf and we all hope she keeps on keepin' on for years to come.

JULY 2016

Ebony is one of the community's sweethearts, and for good reason! She's incredibly talented with both prose and storytelling, and she's the puppet master behind one of Wolf's "legacy" characters, Lasher, as well as several other delightful toons. We want to recognize her creativity, eloquence and diplomacy in general but also give her a shout-out for fearlessly sacrificing her longstanding character in the name of a good story. Lasher's death will go down as one of the key events of BWP3!
There's nothing we love more than an unexpected plot twist! We want to acknowledge Kierkegaard for his surprising usurpation of Rosings. I don't think any of us saw that coming! But it not only makes for a great read, it also hails to realistic wolf behavior, which we absolutely love to see. We'd also like to add an honorable mention to Aaron and everyone else who gave this plot life. The only thing we love more than a juicy storyline is players and character's who're eager and willing to embrace a good "whump"!

Kuro is a bit of an unsung hero here at Wolf. She's been a steady feature here for some time. She's a joy to talk to and plot with and is a good sport about entertaining threads and plots. In other words, she's a model citizen who totally deserves a little bit of recognition!
Doe has flown under the radar a bit but we'd like to direct a spotlight at her to recognize her intriguing and imaginative characterization. Her nominator summed it up best: "I've been having so much fun watching her wobble and teeter on the line between sanity and insanity"! If you enjoy a good arc, keep your sights on this character.

Anthony is one of our long-term loyalists and he deserves recognition for that alone. But wait! There's more! He's the player of one of the most dynamic characters in the game, Damien, along with a handful of others. His compelling characterization will always keep us coming back for more.
We'd like to recognize one of our "moldy oldies," Amekaze. She's an understated character who's been around the block quite a few times now, having joined the game in its earliest days and developed organically from there. Any character that's around that long get its fair share of whumps and Ame is no exception, particularly lately! But she's a mother now and we can't to see how her arc develops with Charon and the girls.

Kim has been a core member of the "WRPC" since long before Wolf. Ever since the beginning, she's been a quiet but consistent presence, lending some of the greatest characters and writings to our menagerie. She's a great friend to anyone who's had the pleasure of getting to know her and deserves a shout-out for being another of Wolf's biggest sweethearts.
Tori has played a slew of memorable characters over the years, with Kjalarr being her current superstar. He's a riveting toon involved in lots of absorbing plot lines. He's rugged, flawed and ever-changing, a throwback to his father with a whole lot of extra flavor thrown in there!

Mary Ellen is one of the most genuine and helpful folks we have here in our community. She's fantastic at keeping our member directory up to date, not to mention driving some of the niftiest characters and packs presently in the game. She's super welcoming of everybody with a great attitude and we felt she deserved a big shout-out for that!
This one's a no-brainer! Freyja has been developing at the speed of light, already establishing herself as a cornerstone in Sleeping Dragon. She's still young but she's already achieved more than many wolves twice and three times her age. We expect great things from you, Freyja, and we know you won't disappoint!

We'd like to recognize Torvi this month! Although she's been part of this community for ages, she always keeps things fresh with her slew of imaginatively detailed characters. We'd also like to commend her for her open-mindedness and willingness to step up and plot, such as with the takeover in Neverwinter Forest. You know what else is great about Torvi? Hers is some of the most engrossing writing to be found around here. For all these reasons and more, she definitely deserves this shout-out.
Stark's named after a superhero, which is fitting considering everything he's done since his arrival in the game. He rose to the occasion when Marauder's Keep needed leadership and keeps the pack afloat to this day. Although he lost his love (RIP, Tavi), he's raising her son as his own. He's a bit of an unsung hero and now it's time to give him some well-deserved commendation. We can only hope that he continues holding down the fort for a long time to come.

Thalia is a relatively new face around these parts, yet she's already immersed herself fully in our little community here. She's a good model of what we appreciate in our members: she's always open to plots; she embraces "whumps"; and she gets her feet wet right away when she picks up characters like Seff. You can tell she's an incredibly kind person just by talking to her and she very much deserves this recognition. Let's not forget how frequently Thalia rocks the Crazy Writers leader boards too!
Laurel's been through so much in her short life. She just wants the love and attention any child deserves! So here we are to give it to her. We applaud her player's ability to depict a young character with very believable flaws befitting her age and situation. Although she can be a handful for those who have to deal with her, that's exactly what makes Laurel a compelling character to read. She's childlike in the best and worst possible ways, so while she may not always be likable, she's definitely lovable in her imperfection. We'll all have to keep an eye on her to see how she continues to grow and develop.

You know who's awesome (and not just because of his floral wallpaper and mad guitar skills)? Ryan! We wanted to recognize Ryan particularly for his easygoing and synergistic attitude. He loves to stir the pot IC—particularly with the infamous Reek, who's notorious for his involvement with The Nereides, his promiscuity and his spell of religious fanaticism—but he's nothing but a collaborative sweetheart OOC. He entertains us constantly with his insatiable thirst for character and plot development, keeping things fresh and original even though he's stuck with several of his characters (let's not forget poor Whip!), through thick and thin, for quite some time. Long live Ryan and his toons!
We wanted to shine a spotlight on Sebastian—oops, I meant Burke! It's so hard to tell them apart sometimes! ;) But in all sincerity, the elder Rochester deserves some kudos. He's been around the block but he's still kickin' and rollin' with the punches. He's stuck with Malice for a while now (how does he put up with her?!) and despite experiencing hardship and getting older and crankier, he's a family man with a good heart. While he may have failed Sebastian, he's making it up for it with Vassago and Pyro, not to mention his grand-kids. And, really, Burke's just all the more likable because of his flaws.

MARCH 2017

We wanted to give Siro a shout-out for being one of our model citizens here at WOLF. She's an active and talented writer with a batch of awesomely compelling characters. Even though there's no mistaking her dedication to this game, she maintains a really easygoing nature, which makes it a treat to collaborate with her. She's been doing a great job kick-staring The Nereides reboot and we know she'll make an excellent Siren Queen.
Blackfeather Woods is an amazing cesspool of wonderfully dark characters and Atshen is no exception! He's definitely living up to his pack's "evil" reputation by savaging anyone he comes across—and often besting his enemies despite his young age. His nominator worded it perfectly: "I'm eager to see how he grows into his role as HBIC and resident Wolfslayer. Hopefully one of my characters will get to meet him soon—and live to tell the tale!"

APRIL 2017

Iris plays a handful of truly delightful and dynamic characters. Furthermore, she's extremely conscientious, kind and easy to talk to, not to mention an amazing artist! She deserves incredible kudos for her writing, which is magnificent and polished, and for being one of the cornerstones of our writing community.
Grayday is a single dad just trying to make the best of it, while keeping true to his integrity along the way. Through his personable actions, he's gained a lot of followers and friends and we can't wait to see where his next steps take him. We wish him the best of luck with Morningside!

MAY 2017

KJ flies under the radar a bit and we wanted to take a brief moment to point out her awesomeness. Wherever you look, one of her characters in there in the background, happily playing a supportive role in all the tragic ups and downs of WOLF. Although she considers Coelacanth her primary character, she never fails to prioritize her other characters, like Lotte and Cypress, subtly weaving them expertly into the fabric of the game. She's a fantastic writer and storyteller who absolutely deserves some kudos for her contributions to the quality of our community!
The entire "brat pack" has been shining lately but none more than Hydra! She's killed her first wolf, purposefully scarred her body, developed her first crush and already earned two trades! We're excited to see where all three of the "Cerberus triplets" and the rest of these crazy youths go in life, doubtlessly with Hydra at the front of the pack. She's a great blend of her famous parents but we're absolutely certain she won't be overshadowed as she continues to make a name for herself in the Teekon Wilds.

JUNE 2017

Mar is truly the whole package. Extremely sweet, easygoing, and welcoming, she exudes warmth and is fun to plot and write with. All of her characters are so iconic to their packs, families, and friends, and as a player she shows an amazing amount of range. In one thread she plays an occasionally grumpy grandpa; in another, a loving, special needs cub who wants nothing more than to be with his family; in a third, a grieving alpha female whose time with her mate was devastatingly short; and in a fourth, a father who is worried about his children as he tries to make the best of a bad situation. All of her characters have so much life and are a joy to read.
Finley is such a wonderful character and she is played by such a wonderful person! Finley "Please Don't Call Me 'Frog'" Blackthorn is a kick ass alpha — just take it from her son, Lagan: "My mom is super awesome, she is the alpha, and she is hardworking and she kind of kicks ass." Stevie writes for Finley in a believable, humorous way that wreaks havoc with her audience's emotions, making them laugh and cry. She is perfect because of her imperfections and has come back from the brink of death to raise not only her own children but her best friend's. Finley, long story longer, is the most awesome of sauces.
Thanks to KJ for authoring June's blurbs!

JULY 2017

Pompoko is a treasured member of our community! She's an extremely friendly presence and her charisma and creativity translate IC as well, bringing us gems like Lagan. His huge heart and wonderful sense of humor offer one of our more die-hard packs some much-needed comic relief. We just want to express our appreciation to Pom for being such a light and inspiration in both the OOC and IC realms.
Valette is a dynamic character who's seen a lot of action. Despite a ton of twists and turns—like her family splitting up, the death of her loved ones (Scarlett and Steady, to name a few), Ezekiel's departure and return, among other things!—she's still managed to be a great leader, friend and ambassador for the Easthollow pack. She's a survivor who impresses by overcoming obstacles with grace. May we all follow her example!

Me is one of our quieter members and a bit of an unsung hero. We'd like to recognize her for her incredible ability to inject true depth of spirit into her characters. From Pump to Osprey to her more current toons, she's always enchanted us with her ability to give her characters plenty of depth and heart, making them some of the most compelling dramatis personae on our site.
It's awesome to see a player embrace his character's flaws and really rock the Omega role. That's what Cody's doing with Korei Julia as she struggles with being the black sheep of her litter, living in the triplets' shadow and attempting to find a foothold in general. KJ took the fall for Galaxy's death (but didn't get much credit for her subsequent rescue) and she's still trying to overcome that stigma and prove herself worthy of her father's love. Her story's very engaging and we look forward to seeing more of her coming-of-age arc.

Vaati Wrote:she been SLAYIN this year. she's one boss ass bitch who beats up fools who mess with her family, and who doesn't love a strong female lead sticking up for her fam and showing everyone how you do it?? hydra really stands out to me because she's not just one thing, she's complex and difficult and has a lot of sides to her, she doesn't just fit the standard of a "warrior" type of character, if that makes sense. she's really selfish but also very selfless. i hope i'm making sense, but i really think she deserves it because she breaks the stereotype on a lot of things and i think will become one of the iconic wolves at Wolf in the future. and as a plus, a LOT of the current plots at wolf have something to do with hydra's/the cerberus's input into the game and the game itself would likely be a lot different without it. so yeah!

Ramsay Wrote:She's had Grayday recognized in the past as a character, and I think she really deserves some recognition as an all-around awesome member. She engages with the community on Discord, especially her pack channel(s), she's helpful and inviting to new members, and she plays a cast of really interesting characters who are constantly evolving in ways that make them feel real, from grouchy Murdock developing a soft spot for Steph to poor naive Sif following along with the designs of Wardruna the womanizer. She's an excellent pack manager and an incredibly active member and I think she deserves some massive kudos for that.

Aviana Wrote:I recently joined Morningside with Aviana here, and I can't believe the amount of effort Mixedhearts puts into the pack, both IC and OCC. The discord chat is always going, and she's always planning stuff to help keeping everyone active and interested.

Please put your hands together for our COTQ and MOTQ for Q2! Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a nomination!

Indra Wrote:i admire how in character chelsie stays for Wylla, sticking to her guns of being a (ICly) "terrible leader" which is not something we see often on WOLF (OOCly Chelsie is the best leader). it cracks me up how rash and prickly Wylla is, and i always stop whatever i'm doing to read any Wylla post that crops up because I know it will be incredibly amusing. it's great to see Wylla's development happen real time: going from snarky free-faring picaroon to Very Important Alpha - chelsie does an excellent job writing how Wylla struggles with the demands of a leadership role, and how post by post, thread by thread, she is developing, foibles and all.

Furi Wrote:Ever since e first arrived at wolf, they've had interesting and engaging characters. From throwing themselves into plots and families, e has become wonderful to play with. Each character is far different than the net and you'll always find something unique about them. Can't wait to see where they go next!

We have our Q3 winners, holla! Thanks to those who submitted nominations. :)

Raven Wrote:He is such a marvelously complex and well-crafted character. Very rarely in my 18 years of roleplaying have I encountered characters who stir so many different emotions in me. He has made me experience the full range of adoration, loathing, anxiety, sorrow, shock, and laughter -- all in the span of a single thread sometimes! JB has put so much thought and creativity into him, shaping him organically, from birth, into a character who is fantastically flawed and misguided, yet still so naive and innocent. He's a walking disaster of a sweetheart that you want to hate but can't help but love, and JB's constant nefarious plot-wrenches and wild, unexpected whumps have made gameplay insanely addictive and fun for everyone in RH. He deserves some recognition for sure!

Acturus Wrote:No other character has created such upset this quarter, I love it. JB has done a great job with him, and I really like how she is willing to let things ICly play out, even when they are not conducive to Screech's best interest. /ELMOFIRE

Arcturus Wrote:She actively participates in community discussions on Discord, is social with all members, and is always willing to chuck a character someone's way to help them out. One of the things I think draws people to WOLF is that the community is so inclusive, to both new members and returning players alike - and I think players like Mary deserve recognition for doing what they can to make WOLF a better and more welcoming place.

Lone Wolves

Hi all! We have our Q4 winners! Please congratulate @Helaa and @Greyback for winning MOTQ and COTQ respectively. And as always, thank you everyone for the nominations. We had a good turnout this quarter!

Hydra Wrote:Greyback continues to make a name for himself within Easthollow, easily catching the eyes of many, and not just because they worry he might be a bear. Defining gentle giant, Greyback is a man with his heart on his sleeve. Even when confronted by his daughter, the widowed Easthollow Gamma expresses only his good intentions at wanting his daughter to survive, and thrive, knowing that she had little chance of doing so when he could not provide her with what she needed. His interest in Valette is noted, and compelling to read, and one can only wonder... how long until Greyback caves into his desire, and reveals how he feels? Will he do so with Stark being so ill? WILL IT HAPPEN AT ALL? A compelling, honest character, Greyback is a delightful read.

Piper Wrote:Hela for MOTQ; Hela is newer to the site than a lot of members, but there hasn't been a single day that she haven't treated people with the utmost kindness and respect. It's a pleasure to RP with her. She always show a level of generosity and caring that sometimes gets swept under the rug. Hela is active and invested in all of the people she writes with. She inspires me to be more involved and to show more kindness to others. I think we could all learn a thing or two from her.
Xynien Wrote:Hela is a great example of a member who helps make this community amazing. she really brings a special touch to each thread she participates in and each project she takes on, just by nature of her characters seeming so effortlessly realistic and unique from one another. beyond that, she's a total sweetheart, and super easy to talk to. overall, she's great to roleplay with, and i always look forward to seeing how her characters progress.
