Emory came unto the scene, obviously not prepared to fight. This wasn't a situation which diplomacy could qualm, but rather one that would require force. They were severely outnumbered, and Eden knew that the chances of them leaving without at least one of their members being injured were miniscule. Still, she had a family to protect, so she took the initiative and approached the Alphess, snarling and snapping in her face. Eventually she lunged for her chosen target's shoulder and tried to grab onto whatever she could. Once the others were joined in, she would retreat and gather the children, leading them out of the territory.

emory appeared, which caused a full fledged roar of outrage from jhala. "you backstabbing bitch!" she yelled at the former LSG female. she'd left with charley, who was also a backstabbing bitch. they'd left the pack, left their friend, for no apparent reason. they showed no loyalty and were no longer wolves that jhala considered even an acquaintance. they were the enemy, and now more than ever.

in her distraction-- a mistake she couldn't believe she made-- the ex-leader lunged, and straight at her. she caught a glimpse of her just out of the corner of her fiery eyes, enough to direct her attention back. it wasn't enough time though, and while she moved her vitals away from the other, the woman took hold of her left ear. jhala had jerked back, and the combination caused sensation that was entirely new to the mercenary. she let out another loud snarl and aimed a lunge herself straight at the throat of the other. her ear-- still attached-- flopped lamely back as she threw herself forward, white teeth open and ready to clamp down on something... hard.

was a little confused at what was going on! i'm assuming that eden is lunging for jhala and then tries to back out? jhala would not let her back out that easily. (:

Just wanted to throw a quick reply in to react to Eden's attack! I am also drunk, so this is trash. Don't mind me :P

To Reek's surprise, he heard a familiar voice. Emory. His cold gaze fell upon the woman whom he once considered family -- whom he had once loved. His icy expression, however, did not soften. He was firm in his demand and he would remain so, no matter what the glade threw at him. He would not be moved. Despite this, Reek hoped that his old friend would understood that what he was doing was not born of malice, but it was simply what must be done to keep his family alive. It all boiled down to a simple question of us versus them.

There was no time to explain, because Jhala went right down the warpath at her. In truth, Reek felt the same abandonment that his wife felt -- but even more so. Just when he thought and old, important part of his life had returned to him, Emory left without even a word of goodbye. Such a thing was unforgivable. Reek, however, could not make his feelings about the subject known, because in the distraction that followed after Emory's arrival, one of the native wolves lunged at Jhala. He had given them an option: relinquish their rule and be spared. It now seemed that they would not comply.

Reek simply reacted as any proper husband would, with rage. "She dies," he shouted. Not only did he will Jhala to land a killing blow, but it was a command for his wolves to kill the dissenter. Knowing that his pack was full of competant warriors, Reek was sure that they could. "And so will anyone else who moves against us. You have your choice. Make it now." He had hoped it wouldn't come to this -- but, so be it.
isn't it ironic don't you think?

It all happened so fast. One moment she was posturing, the next a rogue female was running up to them, a look of dismay plastered on her features. She cried something at Reek and Moonbrook was almost willing to give her a chance to explain. Suddenly, there was blood.

Jhala went into a rage, crimson flowing from her ear and staining her pretty fur. The Alpha female dove in without hesitation, teeth bared, and snarls roaring out of her throat. Moonbrook looked towards Reek, stunned that the other woman would be so bold, waiting for his reaction.

He gave it. All semblance of her usual kindness was thrown out the window as a rage filled her heart. This stranger had attacked her Alpha female; mother to the young that was their future. Unforgivable.

She shot forward like a bullet, aiming to grasp hold of Eden's leg and help the larger Jhala pin down the assailant.

Feel free to have her miss! Hope this made sense.

Emory was in shock, backstabbing? What was this woman talking about? Her eyes suddenly widened and another strike of fear hit her chest. They thought she abandoned them. Damnit this only made things worse, before she could reject the idea Eden suddenly lunged forward at Jhala, almost causing Emory herself to snap at the rage fueled action. "What are you doing?!" She exclaimed loudly, she knew well what pressure could do but a sudden attack would only make matters worse. As a con artist, fighting was never answer, just a little word play.

She stepped back, staring at Reek in completely shock and fear. "Reek I didn't leave, I got lost. You know well of my disappearance before Charley's disperse." Everything was crashing down at her, from her brother's leave, to Rowan's death, to Aspen and Tigerlily's disappearance, and never seeing Onai again, and now her once best friend was attacking the only thing she had left. The wolfess wanted to cry, she felt hopeless, but she would never allow herself such an embarrassment. "Why are you doing this? Please, let us be! Charley is gone, we are no enemy." She fumbled with her words, she wanted to run and never look back, but she had children to look after and people to protect.

Shalon couldn't believe it, Emory knew these assholes. "You know them." She sneered turning her head slightly to look at the woman. She couldn't believe their luck. She was about to respond to the seemingly Alpha male, she had been thinking if only briefly about the pups that were currently cornered within their den in the heart of the territory. She wasn't sure what to do, no one had prepared her for this. And then her choice was taken away from her, as Eden lunged for the Alpha female. Sudden anger struck Shalon. She had made her Duchess to follow her orders, not act on her own accord. "Eden!" She yelled, the anger evident in her voice. But it was to late. The attack hit, much to Shalon's surprise. Now she tried to back off?

"You idiot." Shalon spoke firmly as the woman tried to back off. Shalon couldn't let Eden die, even though she had made an extremely careless mistake, one that it looked like the pack would have to pay for. Lowering her head Shalon growled at the Alpha. "I think you have your answer, Reek." Trying to get his attention away from Eden, her voice dripped with disdain. If there was any luck what so ever on their side Sylvas would help Eden get away from the Alpha female, and to her pups so she could lead them to safety. Shalon honestly wasn't sure what to do with Emory "I doubt you can reason with them Emory. Who would bring violence upon a family who has never done them wrong." Shalon couldn't be sure is Emory would fight for them, or return to the pups in the den to lead them to safety, the failing Queen had no idea. What she did know was that she wasn't going anywhere, she would fight as long as she could.

She lowered her head, and vicious growl irupting from within her belly. All the pent up rage she had felt after Alder and Aspen had disappeared, suddenly bubbling at the surface. Her breath coming in raged beats, she lunged for the neck of the male who stood before her trying to keep him away from helping his mate. Shalon had no care for words, her mind now focused on the task of protecting her pack and her land.

lol keep editing to keep up with recent post that come before mine :P hope it makes some sort of sense.... lol

rose agreed, and that was all hawthorn needed. without saying anything else, he left and padded over to eden's den. the pups were all there. it seemed that all the vulnerable had gathered here, with heartha guarding them. he scanned the den with narrowed eyes, watching as his sister gave everyone a comforting touch of sorts. in his opinion, that was useless. they would all be scared regardless, and fear gave them an incentive to do something - fear motivates you. they needed motivation now, and hawthorn knew it.

so he swallowed thickly and straightened up, standing near the front of the den. he couldn't do much, he knew, but he felt it was his responsibility to protect his sister and the younger ones should the problem arise. hopefully, that wouldn't happen, but hawthorn was ready to fight.

Gah, naughty Kieran.

Kieran froze as he heard snarling and howling in the distance. He was curious, as usual, but he wanted to know what was going on. He wasn't going to sit here and listen from the den - no, he would creep over and watch, maybe participate, depending on what it was.

He glanced around to make sure no-one in the den was focusing on him, then he silently stalked out into the frosty air.

Once he reached the mass of wolves, he almost screeched in terror - a strange wolf, a very strange stranger, was attacking his mother, Eden. He didn't realise what he was doing until he was howling (in a very pup like way) in both anger and horror. He would not let them get away with attacking his family, no way. "Leeeev mama 'lone!" he yelped,

Kieran looked around in disbelief. What did these wolves want? The pup urgently glanced around at the unfamiliar wolves and spotted a large male (Reek) and let out a furious pup-growl, eyeing him with rage.

Just a quick post to get her out of the scene! Feel free to do any slight PP of toons snapping/grabbing at EJ as she retreats.

It was obvious that she would lose this battle. The attack set on the Alphess had failed, as the other was quick to land a hold on Eden's shoulder, though she was thankfully able to shake away. Then another approached and went for her leg, which Eden was able to kick out and retreat from. She backed away slowly with a snarl on her lips, ready to attack again, deaf to the words of everyone except...Kieran? She immediately snapped out of it and turned to face her son — Oh no. — then turned back to the intruders, and realizing what she'd started, Eden grabbed her son by the scruff and hurried him back into the tunnels where she would let both Heartha and Honey know that it was time to retreat.

She took a headcount — Heartha, you have the eldest four. Sorrel and Kieran, you have to follow mommy and you have to keep up, okay? Honey, we will help you carry the newborns. — then led the small band of mothers out to safety, beginning their retreat.

A child his age was not bothered by the destruction and panic that surrounded him. He was silent while the world he knew crumbled before him  and watched with careful eyes as strange wolves came and went. So many new faces had caught his attention but his interest in them did not last long. What a pain it was to move and be moved constantly throughout his short life. And while he could not remember much, Cosmos was aware that he never remained in one place for a long time.

So when it came time for him to move again the boy was not surprised. Instead he simply sunk to the floor and waited for someone to carry him away.

to say that jhala was outraged was an understatement. this woman attacked her, began this entire war (in her opinion, the beginning of their raid was quite peaceful), and then backed out. it was cowardly, and after spitting out the clump of fur and flesh that she'd torn from the other's shoulder, jhala shrieked, "you coward! you fucking selfish coward!" it was ridiculous, jhala thought, that that would happen, and when the woman moved to grab the dumbass child, she lunged again. she was aiming to kill the kid, but missed and grabbed at the other shoulder, tearing another hunk of meat from her. she looked kind of funny now, in jhala's opinion, having two bloodied shoulders, but she didn't care. the other was a coward and a moron, and deserved far worse.

it was then that jhala noticed that the other leader attacked reek. she let loose another loud snarl and motioned to moonbrook (who had caused jhala feel a swell of pride, as she had joined in on the fight right on command) to follow suite. the mother-of-two lunged at shalon, using body-weight rather than tooth-and-claw. she wanted to ram the other away from reek, and she was certainly big enough to have a shot at doing so-- it just depended on how well the other woman was braced, and if moonbrook would assist or check on reek.

Emory shouted something, but Reek's attention was solely focused on Shalon, who seemed to be calling the shots. There was only one logical choice for Shalon to make, as any good leader would. It was a decision that she needed to make for the good of her wolves. Both for their safety, and her own. Concede. It was really that simple. All she needed to do was hand over her home -- in return, she could protect the lives of her followers. All of them. Even Eden, should she survive. There didn't have to be any more needless violence or bloodshed over this. So as Jhala, Moonbrook, and Eden fought tooth and nail, Reek waited patiently for Shalon's answer, and he readied himself to call off his fighters should the need arise.

However, Shalon's answer came in the form of violence. "So be it," he said. In Reek's mind, the battle was over before it even started. The wolves of the glade were grossly outnumbered, and he was sure that he would not fight alone. Dagfinn would surely have his back and they'd be able to overpower the Glade's leader in no time. He himself was an experienced warrior who had come far from his roots as a terrible fighter.

She lunged for his neck. Reek surged forward as well with jaws parted, seeking any flesh that he could rend from the leader's body. This was for his family -- all of this, he did for them. In the chaotic movement of the fight, Shalon's teeth grazed Reek's cheek. He fought threw the pain with rabid intensity. There was so much going on around him, and Reek thought that he had at one point heard the voice of a child, but he could only focus on the fight at hand.

Help arrived shortly in the form of his wife. Eden had surely been swiftly dispatched by she and Moonbrook. Now, with their joint effort, Reek was sure they'd be able to wrestle the leader to the ground, where he would force her to give him the pack. If not, he would show her no mercy.

When one of them attacked Jhala a lot happened. Several wolves sprang forward, and Reek ordered to have her killed. Laurel's heart pounded in her chest, heavily thumping, but she was rooted in place. She couldn't take any of these wolves. She exchanged a quick glance with Dagfinn and then she saw the pup as it stepped forward. It was only a few months old, still tiny and it was stepping forward.

She could see its mother urging it to return and she knew that she needed to move fast. The pup was facing her father and in that moment Laurel felt like she could somehow win back his love if she protected him. She didn't think of the implications or the angry parents if she were to attack their pups. All she saw was the small target, a target that she could take; a way to make her father proud again after all that she had done wrong. Her demeanour changed, from the sullen teen to a rocket launching towards its target; maybe @Dagfinn saw it coming since he was paying such close attention to her, but it was only a split second from that moment before she moved.

With a ferocious snarl ripping from her throat the ten month old sprang forward at @Kieran Adrien and she had eyes only for him. With teeth parted she dashed right for his throat, not unlike the manner she had dashed for her own half-brother not long ago, with the same intent to kill.

i'm going on holiday soon til feb 1st, i'll try to post if i've got wifi on my phone. :)

feel free to play out whatever damage or lack thereof you want on Kieran <3 Laurel isn't a seasoned fighter & if you don't want him to get hurt maybe someone could stop her (if so, feel free to pp hitting her, so long as it's no life-threatening damage i'm cool with her getting hurt!) but I'd be down for her hurting him too; in short, it is entirely up to you if you want him to get hurt or not and feel free to assume/pp her hitting him wherever if you do <3.

All her life she had never had a place to call home, no where she ever stayed for long, and it wasn't like she could really remember a place fully at this age.  Perhaps one day dreams would occur as very vague memories of what had once been, but the only way she would ever know of her constant life of moving truly, would be  through stories.

Her eyes had recently opened  to see the beautiful and precious, yet terrifying and ever changing world around her.  She watched blurry figures around the area and waited for one to conduct change in her life yet again.  For at this age she had no power, no say.

So with that she waited for someone else to carry her away from yet another life once more.

Heartha kept her eyes on the entrance, fear still taking hold of her. For a moment her eyes shifted to her own pups. She had to protect them. Then she turned to see one of the other pups standing near the entrance, closer than she was. Heartha couldn't help but feel her heart warm up at the sight of such bravery, only to be cold again when she realised that the closer to the entrance they were, the more dangerous it was. She beckoned them other, then made a head count.

And held her breath when she missed one. Her gaze shot to the entrance. One of them had gone unnoticed. This was truly a terrible mistake, and she was ready to run out, but then Eden came and she sighed with relief. "I will get them out. Come on children, we need to go" she ordered, trying to remain calm and nudging with her nose if any started to fall behind.

The thread of hope that had been holding Rose together snapped the second the girl realized they weren't going to win this battle. Her home had crumbled to pieces and there was nothing she could do about it. So many painful memories lied within these woods and yet the princess couldn't bring herself to hate this place. While grief and hatred had practically seeped their way into the trees here, Rose knew that there was also joy to be found. This was the last place she had seen her parents, and while she held little love for them they still were important figures in her life.

However there were now even more important wolves she could care for. She turned to her only remaining littermate and then to each of her other siblings. With a nod she followed after the adults, but made sure to remain close by Hawthorn's side.

Kieran turned to his mother's voice but he yelped in pain as his small body crashed to the ground with a small thud. Luckily the plentiful snow had slightly cushioned his fall but even that didn't do much for the young pup. Twisting, he barely escaped a blow to the neck but even while wriggling wildly one of the attackers teeth had pierced the side of his neck. It was not too deep, but deep enough that it could leave a scar if not treated. Thrashing, the two month old pup let out a whine of terror before kicking his legs out madly and trying to shuffle free of the stranger.

You can decide whether any of his blows land or not, haha. Though even if it did I doubt it would do much, the little potato. X3

Honey was conflicted; should she go out onto the battlefield and defend this new pack, thus keeping her word to Shalon? Or should she remain in the den with Heartha and the seven children they'd been taxed with watching? The towering woman paced back and forth, thinking as cleary as she could with so many bodies at her ankles. Then, before she could make a decision for herself, Eden — they'd only become acquainted that morning, but she could already tell how poorly they would get along — burst into the den with a series of commands.

Honey knew that she was a subordinate and as such, she took care to listen to and follow the orders. Her three could now walk, and so she simply nosed them along in the right direction. Their eyesight was poor, but she was sure that they could handle it. As they escaped into the cold, she watched carefully over all ten of them to make sure no one had any slips. Their new home was being left behind, and all Honey could do was pray that another would soon be in sight.

It was hard to keep track of everything that was going on. He saw Laurel doing something, out of the corner of his eye, but when he saw that her target was far smaller and weaker than her, he let it go. Though it was not exactly honorable to kill pups in a raid like this, he couldn't argue that it wasn't the kinder thing to do in the middle of such an awful winter. It would save the parents from having to make choices - over which cubs to save and which cubs to let go.

He turned his attention to Reek and Jhala, who were both grappling through more even matches. Though his first instinct was to protect Jhala, Dagfinn had a little more confidence in her skills than in Reek's. He lunged toward the male's apponent, teeth raking over the nearest flesh he could find even as he knocked into the other with all his might. Hopefully knocking them off course, in the very least. Probably stunning them, considering his size - but he wasn't going to press his luck.

Matters got chaotic fast. More wolves, more words, and eventually more violence. It centered on Jhala first, but the retaliation was quick to start and soon involved Moonbrook as well. Silas' eyes were wide, his ears swinging towards Reek for guidance and confirmation. As it was, they still had them outnumbered, and even he could see that this would tip in their favor considering the rapid descent into unorganized madness the glad wolves continued to encourage -- something utterly confirmed by the sight of a puppy.

But Laurel was off like a bullet towards that and already, Silas had been moving closer to Reek to support him against their stranger that he guessed was in charge. However he was not bold enough to make massive moves. He was bristling, snarling, a show more or less, with a few swings and snaps here and there towards the female's legs. Dagfinn soon joined Reek as well, so Silas felt this was looking pretty assured for their side's favor. The hunter didn't want to distract Reek, for he seemed to hold his ground against her well enough, and before he knew it Jhala and Moonbrook were coming too. The other female was making her exit..

Silas backed off, letting the older wolves tangle with Shalon so he could take stock of what all was happening here. An utter mess, surely, but for probably not much longer. He stood readied to act, but everyone seemed to have it covered. He looked out for any extra surprises, just in case.
Family is not an important thing. It is everything.

If anyone needs me to edit anything, let me know! Also I've left it open as to who Sylvas has attacked whilst heading toward Shalon! And I'm open to have Sylvas endure some damage, so again just let me know! :3 crappy phone post!

Gold eyes watched as Emory came onto the scene, brown ears arching forward as she spoke out to the ring leader of the intruders, now known to them as Reek. A low growl escaped his mouth as his eyes stared down at the pack of opposing wolves before them. Sylvas could hear the female's voice echo into the air, but he didn't take much notice of her words as the mercenary was concentrating far too much on preparing himself on whatever event that was about to unfold.

And then, it all kicked off. Sylvas stared in a near daze as his mate, Eden surprisingly took the first strike out of nowhere, the brute instantly turning his attention toward Shalon as she shouted out in disapproval to the Duchess' actions. In shock, Sylvas watched as Eden went straight for the alpha female of the group, who had then decided to attack Emory due to seemingly past agendas, his head quickly turned to look to the Queen as she briefly spoke to Reek, the mercenary listening to the conversation for a moment before catching Reek's words toward his wife. And with that Sylvas let out a snarl as he then leapt to Eden's aid, his mission now to protect the mother of his children as well as his pack mates and home. The brown and silver male quickly followed her as she rushed into battle. Though, the mercenary was unable to protect his mate from the jaws of the rival female, his golden eyes watching as Eden received damage to her shoulders.

Fury brewed within him as he caught sight of others coming to the alpha female's aid, heading straight for Eden. This was all a complete mess! And then to add to the mayhem, his son, Kieran caught his attention. Horror grasped at the male from the insides as he looked on, though thankfully for a moment the feeling of horror was lifted as the Duchess managed to escape partially unharmed from the invaders, sweeping their son up and swiftly retreating to safety. But in the escape the horror soon returned as he watched his son become hurt within grapple of the events. If only he'd reacted quick enough!

[i]Pearly fangs were revealed, glazed in saliva as his lips curled back in a snarl, golden eyes peering around quickly as the battle waged within the glade, the raiders overpowering as well as surrounding them completely. Satisified his mate was out of harms way and would tend to the children. The mercenary gradually made a lunge for one of the attacking wolves, which one of them he hurt he didn't care as his jaws clamped tightly around unknown fur and flesh. The only thing Sylvas could do now was to help the Queen and hold them off for as long as possible.

Shalon felt the coppery tone against her tongue, she felt the tearing of flesh for but a moment before the brutes forward momentum ripped the meat from her jaws. They collided with a firm jolt, she could feel his jagged teeth against her chest and shoulder. Not caring of the pain she had heard the sound of a childs voice, but all she could hope for was that Eden got to him before anyone else.

She wouldn't retreat, that choice was taken away from her as she felt the sudden body wheight plow into her side. The silver fae hadn't been prepared for a side attack and therefore had no chance to brace herself as she was forced away from the male. Losing her footing she fell in a heap on her side. Unprotected, she tried to find her footing again against the womans onslaught.

Powerplaying Dagfinn with permission.

With Jhala's aid, the Queen of the Glade was effectively taken by surprise. With the brute force of the hit, she was knocked off her paws and on to her side. It was then that Reek knew that the battle was over. However, there was a distraction -- another moved into the fray. A male, but he was quickly engaged by Dagfinn. With the threat of another off Reek's back, he moved in to impose himself over the felled Queen. His salivating maw hovered over Shalon's exposed neck, dripping. He snarled.

"Take your wolves and go," he growled. "Now." This would be Reek's last display of mercy. If she did not comply -- Shalon would surely die.

Eden squirmed free of the two females and fled into the woods as Jhala shrieked insults at her retreating form. Moonbrook had taken a kick square to the nose, and she sniffed as a tiny bit of blood oozed from her left nostril. She paid it very little mind, of course, because the heat of the moment was still upon her. She whirled, shadowing the Alpha female as she lunged forward to assist Reek and fend off the other leader. Again, she felt a twinge of guilt and it only occured to her a moment later that a pup—nothing more than a newborn, had appeared on the scene.

And Laurel was attacking it.

She froze, heart hammering in her chest, and all four legs splayed wide as she stood stunned at the actions of her packmate. Was this really how it was going to be? The pup shrieked, wriggling away from Laurel's snapping teeth. Moonbrook panicked. In two quick bounds she was beside Laurel, "@Laurel, NO!" she cried. "It's just a baby, let him go!" but Laurel was unrelenting so she did the only thing she could do. She shoved, hard, and both of them toppled into a heap of tangled in the snow, allowing poor little @Kieran Adrien a chance at escape.

Probably the only thing Moonbrook would realistically do in this situation. Hope I did ok, Iris!

Emory cursed everyone who's minds fell to fight, how daft could they be? When has violence ever solved anything? Hardly ever. At this point, everything seemed to just be another reality, after all her losses, this was the final thing. She was no longer angry, she was no longer sad, it was over. A sudden snap, and she was numb. Emory glanced at Reek, still surprised he would strip her home away. Her eyes landed back on Shalon, who was pushed onto the ground by Jhala, the charcoal male now hovering over her. She stepped directly in front of him, not wanting her Queen to say the wrong thing. "Shalon, it's our only choice." She insisted.

If Reek did happen to attack her, she wasn't sure exactly what she'd do. Perhaps her only choice would be to do the same to him. The mere idea was horrible, but she felt betrayed, and if it came down too would be forced to attack him if any other violence occurred.
