All Welcome
Just exploring! Might be cool if he encountered @Rannoch or @Liffey but its open!

He'd continued to wander as the day wore on, and within a few hours he'd put a good distance between the caldera and himself. The boy lingered along the foothills of the mountain range without any real purpose or reason to his action; then, as the sky began to grey with heavy clouds, he sought shelter before the snow could fall. It would be easy for him to return home from here and so he was not worried, even as the foothills became plateaus, and the forest grew more dense as he went along the paths. When he came upon the intertwining scent of many wolves he knew not to cross - it reminded him too strongly of home, which could only indicate another pack. There was a momentary pause - physical and mental - as Screech thought about Blackfeather; but he knew they lived in a forest to the east, and his anxiety was not of use here. All the same, he put some distance between himself and this new discovery, making sure to stay a safe distance from the edge of the claimed land as he perused the mountain's slopes.

Once more, Galaxy found herself spending a lot of time near the snowy mountaintops, the distant sea and stars her only companions on many cold nights. She didn't mind. She felt she learned something new from them each night, and she looked forward to one day following Polaris's guiding light toward the shore, where the the crystalline sands glimmered palely and the crests of the waves churned like fresh snow.

Tonight, however, she pushed thoughts of such from her mind and descended the slopes, heading toward the fringes of the territory. Perhaps she could find Charon or Hydra to take her on a quick jaunt outside the pack lands tonight. Her breath plumed from the tip of her muzzle as the air thickened and warmed. Galaxy smiled to herself, fleet of foot despite the steep rocks rimed with frost.

When she slipped and fell into a small crevice, Galaxy gave a small cry of, "Oh!" She flashed back to the time when she had tumbled into the mountain's bowels during the meteor shower. She didn't drop nearly as far, nor did she lose consciousness. She wasn't even hurt. However, she felt something shifting beneath her. It was the oddest sensation, curious but strangely unpleasant. As she pushed herself upright, she only fell again, the ground beneath her feet feeling more liquid than solid. She peered down but it was too dark to see anything save for an unsettling shifting of shadows.

"Ow!" she cried out when something struck her, something that stung. There was a faint and ominous buzzing sound growing in her ears. The piercing sensation happened several more times and the usually cool-headed youngster found herself scrabbling at the nearest stones to pull herself out of the crevice. Feeling an instinctual need to flee, she did just that, tumbling in the direction of the borders and toward the comforting figure of a wolf there.

Before Galaxy could register that this was a stranger, she collapsed. Her legs ached and trembled as her breath rapidly became shallow. The unfamiliar face swam before her as her mouth opened to cry out for help. But the only sound that left her was a small puff of air that escaped her like a wisp, her spirit exiting her body and soaring toward the distant galaxies, where she would stay forevermore. There would be no rising from the dead this time.

Someone please take care of poor Galaxy's body????

It happened so fast - first he was idling and trying to figure out a course along the mountain without disturbing anyone, maybe considering going home, but then all of a sudden there was the frenetic thundering of steps. Screech looked in the direction of the stampeding sound with his ears up and eyes wide. The stranger that came careening from the hillside came from the other side of that invisible line - they were a pale specter, spooked no doubt by something bigger than themselves.

They came clear across that line and stood panting just outside of it, with Screech standing there looking surprised but, with his puffed scared-cat tail calming down, it wagged in a friendly manner. Just as he opened his mouth to say hello, the pale wolf dropped dead right in front of him.

Uh -- what? He blurted after the longest time. A part of him wanted to close the distance and inspect the wolf; from afar they looked young versus really seriously old, so the whole... Not being alive thing... Made no sense. It barely computed in Screech's mind to begin with. Are -- are you okay? Hello? He couldn't move, struck dumb by the happenings around him, and just kind of, well, stared. His voice got louder with each call until he realized: they'd totally blame him for this.

And, like a real piece of shit, Screech didn't call for help. Instead he mustered up all his willpower and bolted the fuck outta there.

Hydra moved with her sisters, @Lyra, and @Alya, heading to patrol at a casual pace. In the nick of time, too, it seemed—Hydra had arrived only to see her sister collapse, and a stranger begin to flee. Wasting no time at all, Hydra called to the pack, though its higher note bid @Charon and @Amekaze come swiftest of all. Looking to Lyra, Hydra mutely commanded she see to Galaxy. Hydra knew that Lyra was their sisters best chance at survival.

And then she and Alya were off! With the assistance of the mountains descent, their pace was brought to a gallop swiftly enough. She had not sussed out her younger sister enough to know this male had not been the reason for their sisters fall (and, unbeknownst to her at present, her demise). The male was bolting as though he had a guilty conscience, and this was what Hydra went off of as she sought to close the distance between them. His own potentially fatal error had been fleeing—and while her mind screamed Blackfeather, the scent of the Caldera was what the wind provided her.

Gannet had been hanging around the Moonspear, not close enough to cause problems but near enough to know where he was, it's familiar peak a homing beacon now to guide him back so he could find his way, eventually, to the Caldera once more.  The region was there to be explored, and explore he did, reveling in the rough mountain terrain and the strange places he discovered.

He knew he wanted to see Hydra again, though, both because he'd had fun the last time and because he had seen the wolf she sought.  Time got away from him a bit, but eventually, he found himself near to the lands of the mountain once more.

He assumed she'd be near the border; she seemed, like himself, the guardian type.  What he wasn't expecting was to run into a different familiar face first.  He saw the wolf running from a wide distance, and curious, he began to sprint as well, angling to get close and see who it was.  Wait.  Was that... his brother?

Stunned, he slowed, only to a moment later see why.  Another wolf was hot on his trail, running with what looked like less than friendly intent.  Gannet's eyes narrowed and he immediately surged forward, charging in to either intercept, if possible, or at least follow and help out.  He hadn't bonded much with his brother, but he wasn't about to stand aside and lose more family to those not of their pack.
Gannet's face and body are open books; you are more than welcome to distinctly notice any emotion written in his posts.

Got PP permission for Korei!

Their patrol was cut short almost as soon as it had begun. They had only just made it to the borders before they came upon the scene. As soon as the three saw their younger sister's limp body upon the ground, a foreign wolf fleeing in the opposite direction, they sprung into action. Hydra was the one that sent up the call and Lyra couldn't help but add her own panicked voice - please, come quick! Her gut twisted into knots. Something told her this wasn't going to have as happy a ending as last time.

At Hydra's silent word, Lyra skidded to a halt protectively over their fallen sister as her triplets raced ahead, watching with fire in her eyes as they gave chase to the interloper. There were no immediate signs of a scuffle (nor blood, strangely), but she treated his almost immediate retreat as an admission of guilt. Why else would he have run?

She then turned to the small, fragile body crumpled below her. She set to nosing swiftly through her fur, focusing on her neck and fearing the worst. However, there was no blood upon Galaxy either; no wounds save for a few tiny nicks around her paws and hindquarters that Lyra mistook for incidental scratches. She frowned in confusion before noticing a distinct lack of rise and fall of the young girl's sides. It was then panic really set in. "Galaxy," she said, her tone as if a command, and looked to her sister's face for some sort of reaction. When there was none, she tried again, this time with a bit more force. "Galaxy."

The pale wolf still did not stir. Lyra's heart began to hammer in her chest and she gently nosed her sister's cheek, tentatively swiping her tongue across her forehead in an effort to coax even the faintest of sign of life from her. Wake up, please. She reasoned with herself that the girl was just simply unconscious, but no air came from her mouth, her body was limp. Lifeless.

"No, no, no..." she whispered quietly, her voice breaking as a sob threatened to escape. A snap of a twig caused her to look up as @Korei Julia slipped through the trees, her usually sunny gaze flooded with concern. "Korei, she's..." Lyra started before looking solemnly down to their poor sister's body, hoping that would be enough to convey the grim news. Tears welled in her eyes but she steeled herself and suddenly, the girl stood and began to head in the direction Hydra and Alya had gone. "S-stay with her," she said and, without even giving her sisters a second glance, Lyra shot down the cliffs in pursuit. How he even did it, she did not know, but he was going to pay dearly.

He'd been nearby when the urgent howl sounded. Charon quickly made his way to the source of the call, where he found Korei Julia with a slumped Galaxy. He was just in time to see Lyra dive off and without thought Charon settled into pursuit. He wouldn't be any good taking care of wounds anyway, so it made more sense to join his daughter (and presumably, the other two weren't far off) in finding the one who had harmed Galaxy. He wouldn't let whoever did this get away with it.

The scent of Redhawk Caldera caught up to him quickly and an involuntary growl rumbled in his throat as he pieced together: Redhawk Caldera did this. I'm going to murder them. Everyone was distracted by Blackfeather but the real threat was right next door all along and Charon would have none of it. He would tear apart the first motherfucking Redhawk Caldera wolf he'd lay eyes on.

They came from the woods where there was more overview. In the distance Hydra and Alya emerged, running at full speed, just at the moment a Redhawk wolf came crashing towards them (it seemed almost like a suicide attempt to Charon, all things considered), looking like he was about to attack Hydra and Alya. Charon ran as fast he could but they were a distance off so for now he could do nothing but watch how it all unfolded.

Korei had heard a call, something was going on. She headed over, thinking it was something like a pack activity. With a smile on her face, and a skip in her step she began to head over. But, she started to hear something as she neared the edge of the trees.

She stopped when she saw Lyra over a form that almost blended into the snow. She approached, slowly. "She's what?" She didn't know which of the three Cerberus sisters this was. But that was far from her mind. She glanced up when the three Cerberus sisters headed out, then her eyes returned to the white form, and she recognized it. Galaxy.

"Galaxy? Why are you sleeping out here? Come on, let's go" she said, nosing her still form. She withdrew her nose, something wasn't right. "Gala...Galaxy?" She turned her head when she heard someone pass, and saw Papa. "Papa, wait! Papa, Galaxy needs-" But he was already gone.

"Galaxy, get up" she demanded, her voice cracking a bit. She poked her with her nose. "Galaxy....Galaxy...." She understood now. The pain was so much in her heart. She felt her legs slip out from underneath, her breathing quickened in panic. Then she pieced it all together. She stared in the direction of the wolf that the others chased, and for the first time, she felt hatred and despair. And it did not worry her, one bit that she felt this.

While Alya and Hydra chased after the first Redhawk, another came at them from a different angle. Another one of Hydra's friends, but currently, a dire threat to the very same head. Why were they doing this? Wiping out sister after sister?

"You sick fucks!" Alya snarled, changing course to meet head-on with Gannet rather than chase after her younger sister's attacker. Hydra was more important. "I'm going to kill the next fucker that lays a hair on my sisters! Yeah - come at me you pansy-ass motherfucker!"

She was angry, and her voice was as coarse as her words with emotion. But there was a cold fury in her eyes rather than the burning heat one might expect. When the Cerberus was physically threatened, things got serious.

She faintly heard Korei's alarmed calls to their father, and glanced briefly to see Charon come up beside her. His rage was palpable, feeding into her own and she fell in sync with the thud of his racing paws against the earth. They made short work closing the distance between the borders and where the murderer had run to, arriving just as Alya spat profanity in the direction of another Redhawk wolf. Lyra's eyes quickly flicked to the other dark figure, committing his scent and appearance — including the conspicuous shock of orange fur at his elbows — to memory. They would find him again, that much was sure.

"Run! Run you cowardly fuck!" she shrieked at his retreating form before she focused her attention on the white-furred wolf who came at them like a heat-seeking missile. She knew him, at least by what Hydra had told her. Whatever he was to them, he was a friend no longer.

"He killed her!" she shouted to her sisters, thrusting her nose in the direction of the barely visible figure of Titmouse. "They killed her!" Gannet coming to the defence on behalf of his pack mate, not to mention his mere presence, was enough to convict him and his pack as accomplices of the crime. Lyra threw all her weight into her sprint towards Hydra and Alya, aiming to draw a curve around the male and come in from behind in her attack. He would die just as his packmate would.

Having had far too much distance to cover, she inevitably arrived late to the call. By the time she came sprinting down the slopes, the others were already here--and even before she made it all the way there, she heard their voices raising and felt the tension already. Something was going on, and had she even heard that right? Amkeaze urged on faster, and coming at the scene from a different direction, one not immediately bypassing the fallen Galaxy or really any of her other fellows along the way. All the commotion had her zeroing in what the cerberus was engaging with instead, which led her to sight of the unfamiliar wolf, so she went that way in hot pursuit of some answers, or solutions. Whatever she could get her teeth on first.

Realization followed afterward that somehow, if her nose was telling her correctly, Redhawk was involved, and her wolves were highly upset. Since she didn't need to be told twice, she ran headlong towards the stranger.

Like the dark-haired matriarch, he too had been away. The day had been spent tracking a rather elusive and small cluster of deer that ultimately proved to be not worth the trouble. The winter snows were driving them away from the river at last, and it was no small hope that Dirge was waiting for them to draw near to the forests in the shade of the mountain. No more than a mile laid between him and the wooded cover of Moonspear's border when Hydra's call had risen up—the urgency had pushed from forward, out of the leisure pace he had been taking to weave nimbly between frosty trees.

Somewhere, albeit distantly, there was an echo of a mournful scream.

The sound of footfalls came to him first, the sort that were fast and noisy on compact snow. He had slunk to shadows and cover swift, uncertain of what would go by and where, when a figure tore past. In that wake, there were more steps; fast, predatory, a snarl trailing off in the crisp air. Darker figures went by in a blink and seconds later, he stole away towards the fringes of Moonspear's claim, passing two more wolves of nondescript before he emerged on their path. Whatever was going on, the unease that had gradual built made his belly churn. It was not hard at all to find the scene of a purported crime; the growing congregation was punctuated by a murmur of conversation and tears.

His ears came forward as he took in the scene, feeling as much of an outsider then as he had in weeks past. His gaze carried over the living, not finding a face he recognized. Nor did he recognize the wolf that was laid centerfold between them—his head whipped around the way he had come, not far off from where the chase had rushed past. His breath stilled as he listened for sounds of conflict—it was coming, he knew. He was torn between staying and going. There was an urge to go as he was just as certain Hydra had been one of those rocketing forms, but his urge to remain uninvolved held him back. There was nothing to be done for the one who had met an untimely end.

Bewildered as his gaze drew back to the crowd, he reached his decision—Dirge turned back the way he had come, and went to join the others. He did not rush headlong into the fray but rather take an investigating approach. If he was needed then he would be ready with a plan of action, but even on the fringes he thought he could help.

dirge is a bit late but y'all can powerplay him meeting up with the beatdown if you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ame joined which felt safe and like old times somehow. But he had no time to ponder such things as he kept running. Once he reached the triplets Lyra shouted that they had killed ‘her’ and things instantly clicked. He felt a mixture of anger and defeat, but paired with adrenaline only the desire to rip these fuckers apart. He passed his daughters, ignoring that situation for now as he followed the disappearing wolf in the distance; the seeming culprit, though at this point he thought this a scheme made by all Redhawks.

Korei cried her little heart out over Galaxy's body. She shuffled closer to the motionless girl, as if to try to keep her warm like she was still alive. "Don't leave Galaxy...don't leave me, Galaxy" she continued to whisper, puting her muzzle to Galaxies neck. They would seem to almost blend into the snow around them from afar.

She lifted her head to look about, then back to Galaxy. And that's when she noticed something. Tooth marks, much too small for a wolf. Perhaps large enough for a puppy, but she knew a puppy could not bite too deeply. Her eyes widened out of shock, and realization. "It wasn't a wolf" she whispered. So that meant, whoever they were chasing...

She stood up, ready to follow but saw they were too far ahead. So instead, she called ahead to them. "Wait! Wait, it wasn't a wolf!" She looked back to Galaxy, than the others, contemplating on whether or not to leave.

As she charged, she noted a pale figure approaching in her peripherals. Over the din of everything else, she hadn't heard it—but she was not caught unawares, at the least, and was able to adjust her course accordingly. That there was another Redhawk wolf here caused alarm bells to ring in her mind—could Gannet have been a look out? While initially she had thought the lone Caldera wolf to have perhaps been employed by the enemy to be rid of their alliance, now she was uncertain. Gannet had never seemed the slippery sort... but she also became aware that she did not know him all that well at all and, at the end of the day, he was willing to defend someone that attacked her helpless, weak little sister on her territory. That alone was grounds for death. With all that transpired, Gannet was as good as trespassing on top of being an accomplice in this attack.

It was a pity, really—she had liked him.

The distance between them was closing, and it was clear by the way Hydra moved that this was no game Gannet had interfered in. This was life or death. If he did not flee now, she would rip him apart herself. To defend a wolf who attacked a child—what kind of wolf did that really make him? It sickened her—

Alya approached from behind him, Hydra noted. All the more confident in the outcome for her sisters (loud) arrival, Hydra snarled in an echo of sentiment as she bridged the gap. And just before she moved to launch her assault, there came Lyra's voice—and the words, "He killed her". The wolf had killed Axe? Gannet would survive this, if only temporarily. They needed the information; the why, the who, all that. Hydra made a noise translatable by her sisters: get him to the ground!

It was time for an interrogation.

Hydra adjusted her course just so. Instead of colliding into him head on, she diverted in order to swipe at a leg to cause him to, hopefully, fall kit and caboodle. She felt he would not anticipate that from her, Hydra being more head on and direct and willing to savage another swiftly... but that was the intent. She needed him off guard, and her sisters would be there to prevent him from rising.

His only thought in this charge had been this; slow them down, let his brother get ahead.  But as he charged closer, and got a better read on the body language of those involved, he knew he might have made a terrible miscalculation.  This wasn't anger; this was rage.  They were looking for the kill, and he was about to take the brunt of it.

It it was too late to turn around now, and Hydra (both of them? He wasn't sure which was which, having known her only a day, but he knew she was one of them) was upon him.  He had intended to throw himself among them to trip them up, but instead she got the jump on him.  He'd been expecting to be attacked head on and instead found himself falling, tail over head, as she tripped him as he ran.  Shitt.

Fully compromised, he scrambled to get to his feet, knowing that he was completely done for if the other chasers jumped him here and now.  There was no way he'd get back on his paws in time.

From the calm came a storm; urgent calls rose suddenly and summoned the resident Sitter to the borders. Rannoch moved with haste over the snowy landscape to arrive at the scene, his mind racing as quickly as his paws as he theorized what incident could have warranted the urgency in Hydra's howl. Even his wildest fantasies fell short of the reality of the disturbance he arrived at and quickly, he moved to stand alongside Koeri Julia as she muttered something to herself.
A plethora of questions formulated as he examined the child's lifeless body, but even as he attempted to voice his thoughts, he found that words failed him. A mixture of grief and anger overcame Rannoch as he looked at Galaxy and, in a way, he found himself berating himself; if he had been a better Sitter, then Galaxy would have still been alive. Rannoch only looked to his living pale packmate as she moved to call after those who had gone after Titmouse and, despite his grief, he found himself keen to know what she had to say.

"Wait! Wait, it wasn't a wolf!"

Surprised, and still finding himself getting up to speed in regards to the situation as a whole, Rannoch looked to Galaxy once more and observed what Koeri had discovered. Though the scent of Redhawk Caldera was evident in the air, Rannoch could tell that the source of the smell did not come from Galaxy-- it came from beyond the borders. There was something familiar about the scent but, Rannoch had little time to depict who of Liffey's family had been at the territory's edge.

Aware that time was of the essence, as he had assumed what had happened, Rannoch turned from Galaxy and sprinted in the direction where the chase had gone; he knew he had to do something to remedy the conflict. As he ran, he lifted his head and called to the group that had gone after Titmouse, in an attempt to prevent bloodshed on Galaxy's behalf.

"Wait! No wolf is responsible for Galaxy's death!"

Inwardly, that dark girl wept over her leader's command. Nothing existed in that moment but rage, Gannet, and Hydra. But it was Hydra who had her allegiance, and so, instead of going for the kill, Alya aimed for the scruff at the base of the pale man's skull, hoping this place would give her the leverage needed to hold him in place while her sisters joined her, and to keep herself from gaining any injuries that she would later be forced to inflict on her mirror images in order to keep their bond pure.
Starr - you can decide whether or not she lands the hit. If not, she'll try again next round. Cerb can PP her backing them up. She's basically gonna ignore everyone else.

Got PP permission :)

The triplets moved as one, fanning out to engulf the pale intruder as the head ran to face him head on. Out of the corner of her eye, Lyra spied the earthen-coloured Dirge come upon the scene but hang back at the periphery of the fight. She was about to call out to him to help them engage — they would definitely be able to employ his muscle here — before her attention was stolen by her parents rushing past. They were hot on the trail of the murderer who had initiated this all, but he was much too far for even the swift Amekaze to catch up to. Still, she felt their white hot rage; it burned at the corners of her eyes and blurred her vision.

There was a heavy thump as Gannet's form crashed into the earth after Hydra succeeded in tripping him. A dirty tactic, perhaps, but the Cerberus didn't fight fair. Lyra and Alya descended upon him at once, all flashing teeth and feral snarls. As her sister latched onto his scruff to still him, Hydra still engaged with his snapping jaws, their mirror image turned to see Rannoch speeding towards them. His yelling was in vain.

"Lies!" she spat, turning back to the Redhawk wolf's form. Was he working with them? Protecting them just as he did Liffey? She shot her former crush a venomous glare before falling upon Gannet once more, teeth finding purchase upon a flailing limb. Perhaps it was to spite Rannoch, or maybe it was because of the heat of the moment, or the rage that had building within her, but Lyra suddenly and needlessly jerked her head sharply to the left, feeling relief in the sickening snap that emanated from the boy's bone.

Given her proximity to her mountain, everything about her approach was intense and brutally sure of itself. The din of the chaos of the others still flicked up her ears, and something dire sank her heart not long after she could make out what was even being said--Galaxy, but she didn't have time to mourn what couldn't be changed now. It was a sensation marked by a stinging touch of deja vu; once before the starry-eyed girl had been taken from them too soon. Now, was only worse, and this was more momentum sending her forward.

But if a wolf had not killed her.. then how? Amekaze's chest ached with the possibilities, no matter how far reaching. She didn't know anything about what had happened, or who, if any, had seen it done. She'd look at her unfortunate daughter herself once the dust settled here and figure it out then, she decided. Now, she did not want to waste time. What was done was done, and Galaxy's body wasn't going anywhere.. not until the dark mother took her to her heavenly resting place close to the stars. But these were faraway thoughts still, ones going unprocessed for now while rage raced in her blood.

Foul play or not, she didn't need these reeking Redhawks loitering around, conveniently involved when things were going disastrously wrong for Moonspear wolves once again.

The Cerberus had the pale Redhawk soon and this (their fury) certainly pleased her as she loped up to them, although she had to wonder how much fight he had in him, or if he was as slippery as his predecessors. She reached them with a low, wicked snarl.. but they had a good tooth on the situation right now. Of her many, many problems right now, this one pertained most of all to him, the slimy little wretch she hoped they kept their grip on long enough to interrogate at the full mercy of the sisters' wrath. Especially if it truly, honestly, was not his doing, and the death of her innocent daughter had nothing to do with him or his: "Why the fuck is he even here?" she asked venomously then tried to step close enough to snap her teeth at his face between the onslaught of her daughters. One wrong move and she'd throttle him if they didn't first, and she wasn't above keeping him detained as long as they could. It wouldn't be the first time she kept one of Fox's mess-makers. "Did anyone see what happened?" There was ice on her every word.

Though the scene that Rannoch had arrived at had been ghastly, it was Lyra's accusation and the action that followed that caused a chill to rake along the length of his spine. The heaving of his flank was the only motion he partook in as he watched in horror of what had been done to Gannet; his unbelief caused him to neglect his motive for following the fray briefly.

When Amekaze arrived, Rannoch jolted back into reality and quickly re-acquainted himself with the situation. He could not answer the Alpha's initial question but, he had information in regards to her second. "I wasn't but, when I arrived Korei Julia said that a wolf didn't kill Galaxy," his gaze dropped to his paws, and he recollected his observations, "I took a closer look and couldn't smell the scent of Redhawk Caldera upon her. There wasn't any blood, either... just some smell I had never smelled before." He fell silent then, wondering how his words would be received in the heat of the moment.

Quietly, he added, "I'm sorry I don't have any more information."

He was right; before he was able to rise, someone grabbed him from behind, and before he knew it they were upon him.  His heart hammered in his chest as they filled his vision, and he had a choice here; submit or fight.  Titmouse was gone, in the wind, and he would gain nothing more from struggling.  So he stilled somewhat, still half-heartedly attempting to get up, but not moving to strike.

"He's m-"  the words, the start of an explanation, ended in something between a cry and a scream as Lyra's jaws snapped around his leg.  White hot pain consumed him, and his ears roared, but he did not pass out.  He was a cornered animal; losing consciousness would put him completely at their mercy.  Instead his jaws clamped shut and, chest heaving, he focused on not throwing up or panicking.  He only somewhat succeeded; just about every third word caught in his sense, the rest was a blur of fear and adrenalined pain.

His head swam briefly when he caught up with the chaos, the mess of familiar and unfamiliar faces in a tangle with another. There was distant yelling, the sound of others coming to join them; a pair of eyes alighted on him briefly before he turned his head to meet the first form to join them before it he swung back around at the crackling of bone. The cry was piercing and enough to push him back a step as vitriol laced words cascaded in. This was a situation already under control from the moment he was there, as Hydra and her sister—sisters, he noted—held fast to the wolf they had pulled from the growth.

Another dark form had joined the fray with Rannoch not far behind and more revelations came to light. It hadn't been a wolf that commited the crime came the protest and admittedly Dirge had nothing more to supply to that. He hadn't dared to get close to the body of the young she-wolf, he hadn't sensed blood or some other nefarious odor lingering. But here he could, the smell of fear and blood overpowering most everything. Yet why was the stranger there in their midst? His whimpering had been cut short of words that Dirge had barely heard and it was that moment he came forward with interest.

"What was he trying to say," he inquried, at first the words flat and hushed; thoughtful if nothing else. He spoke again, this time with confidence backing his tones. "The lad was about to offer us something." His gilded gaze settled on the sock-marked stranger and Dirge wondered in the mess of things if he would try again to get a word in edgewise.

His intent was on following the second Redhawk wolf but he could soon see that there was no use in pursuing him further. Especially because the second Redhawk had thrown himself at his daughters there wasn't any chance they'd catch him now. Charon wanted to know what the fuck was going on, and felt frustrated when he decided to turn round. With storm on his face he returned to the rest of the group, which had by now caught the other Redhawk wolf. He was just in time for Rannoch to say something — No wolf is responsible for Galaxy's death. He hadn't even considered she might be dead, had figured that someone from the Redhawks had attacked her and then left. "What?!" he snapped at Rannoch, but he had no time to process the news before Lyra, his most rational child, pronounced it lies.

He turned to the Redhawk wolf and had there not been so many others present he might've just killed him right there on the spot. But the true culprit was still missing — though it was possible they'd planned the thing together, it made no sense for this wolf to suicide-throw himself at them if he was involved, unless he had a death wish — and Charon managed to keep his cool as Lyra bit him. "What the fuck is wrong with you Redhawk fucks!" he shouted loudly. "Who is the idiot that killed my daughter and where do I find him?" Charon stayed nearby, the fur on his hackles raised and his body language implying it was time to start speaking. He was beginning to wonder if the whole war thing was also a ruse of Redhawk Caldera — what if Dhole had never even been kidnapped, but they'd set the whole thing up just so they could plan to murder his child?

Korei no longer focused on everything around her, as she continued to desperately bring Galaxy back. She knew that she could not, a part of her at least. She continued to do so however, out of desperation. Out of need. She just could not lose Galaxy...she couldn't. Yet soon, she just stopped trying. Galaxy was gone. As soon as she accepted it, she unleashed perhaps the most pained scream she had ever released, a loud cry of pain.
