Set near Blood Garden @Ramsay

It was hard to tell when it was night and day within the territory sometimes in some places. It had a generally dark feel to it, allowing almost anyone the ability to sleep at any time during the day. It was something Rouge enjoyed, especially since she wasn't taking many trips outside of the territory. Still being new and not wanting to run into the enemy too soon, when she might actually for one enjoy the pack she was in.

She found herself that late afteroon near the blood garden. It reminded her of the Redgrove she found awhile back. The pop of red always drew her in. She lifted her front paw and made a move to walk into the bed of red, but learned quickly of the thorns that lay beneath. As she set he paw down she was poked by a thorn and she quickly retracted it, it only stinging for a few moments. Better right away then if she had been in there almost all the way and had to weave her way out.

They were all long dead, bitten and rimed by the cold of winter, but Ramsay sometimes liked to look at the wilted red petals of the roses in the territory's very center. He didn't know the name of the place or if it even had a name. It was an odd phenomenon, a fairly small patch of flowers surrounded by forest. Such a thin layer of snow broke through the dark canopy that they were only lightly dusted with white, and for him, they were easy to walk over.

Soon he would start to grow rapidly, and his weight would increase, and he would be more wary of the thorns underneath. Presently the young dwarf could drift over the tops of them, all while hardly disturbing the thick bed of brittle petals. There was the occasional warning pinch of a thorn below, but he didn't mind it, and soon enough he made his way across the circle and face-to-face with someone unfamiliar.

As with Argent, Ramsay approached head-on, showing no sign of being shy or uncertain. When he was a mere foot from Rouge, near enough to see her pale whiskers against the dark forest backdrop and to see the subtle shades in her pale blue eyes—in other words, close enough to be uncomfortable, especially with how he looked—he smiled and asked, "new?"

She looked over to the other side to see a darkly colored pup approach the patch of thorny roses. She thought to warn the young thing, but thought it might be an easy lesson to learn on his won. But it seemed he needed no lesson as he proceeded to cross through them with little to no problem. It made her feel a little sour to see him face little no no issue when she had come across it on her first steps.

He came across with no hesitation and stepped right up to her. His distance to her didn't bother her much, mainly because of his lack of an adult size. But his statement made her smirk, thinking of how pleasant this little brat was going to be. Strangly she really did think it was going to be pleasant. "Quite." she answered simply. "Born here?" she asked in a similar way that he had.

If Rouge took any notice whatsoever of Ramsay's deformed body, she didn't react to it. That was new—almost everyone reacted, whether in small ways or large ones—so for a time he watched her narrowly, suspicious. At length he decided it didn't really matter. If there was any other wolf in the world that looked like him, Ramsay was willing to bet they would do anything to be treated as unremarkable. He, on the other hand, liked getting a reaction. He liked feeling like he scared others.

It was his thrill, but he was denied it this time.

"Yes," he replied, and found he had nothing else really to talk about. So Ramsay moved on, at least out of the flower patch, and turned back in the shadow of the trees instead to regard Rouge's flank. "Woods are dark," the dwarf told her, conversationally, though that was so obvious that even Sherlock Holmes would groan at it. "Monsters live in the dark," he went on, and flicked an ear forward in wait of how she would react to that.

So he had been born here. She might have given him more respect if he had been older, but he appeared to be young, and she assumed he didn't hold as much knowledge as some of the veterin members. But despite his age he knew more then her and decided to follow his lead when it came for formalities. Not having been part of a pack for a mahority of her life she was still iffy as to how to adress others with the proper amount of respect and submission. But from the little bit of conversation they had had so far she didn't think it was going to be too formal of an endevour.

Head on he appeared to be a normal young wolf, it wasn't until he moved past her that she noticed a difference in he stance, walking, and appearance. She kept her comments to herself, thinking it strange, very strange, but not knowing who's kid this might be didn't want to have her comments told second hand. But he moved around fine and appeared healthy, if not a bit squished.

Focusing on his words rather then his appearance she commented on these said monsters. "Things confident enough to come into the light can be scarrier then what hinds in the dark."  she said. Referenceing experiences that she had had in the past.

"Hm," he mumbled contemplatively, though there wasn't a whole lot of contemplation going on in Ramsay's head. Monsters lived in the dark; that was a thing all children learned, one way or another. He assumed he was the monster in the dark and had since the first negative reaction to his appearance, but Ramsay didn't understand the cleverness in Rouge's words. She was right. A monster in plain sight was much more frightening than one that hid in shadows, but he didn't get it.

"The dark is where monsters are," he childishly insisted, with his youthful ignorance laid bare.

The young wolf didn't say much to achnowledge what Rouge had said. Simply restate what he had said prior but in a different wording. Maybe he was simply too young to understand the truth and complexity within her words. It seemed as though this was going to be a simply conversation. She though able entertaining his thought, maybe as a way to entertain her. "How do you feel about these monsters in the dark? Do they scare you? Are they your friends?" she asked curious to see how a young wolf in this enviroment would view the world.

Rouge's question had Ramsay thinking of Titmouse, that cowardly older wolf who had so briefly been a part of their lives. Ramsay had, back then, been innocent and starved for attention, but the captive wolf had cowered from him like he was a weapon. Since then, that image had resided somewhere in the back of his mind, reminding him what he was, and though he was often unbothered by it, there were times Ramsay felt like a monster.

He answered her honestly then, based on that: "my brother. My sister. And me." All three of them. "We're monsters," he declared, but there was no sadness mingled in his tone, only acceptance, and perhaps a little trill of delight.

I wrote (and I thought I also posted) this yesterday... hmm. Ok lets do this again I guess. XD I hate to do this, but I'm going to wrap this up and have Rouge exit because Rouge will be going PPC soon.

He went on to explain that he and his family were monsters, but not in a disappointed or regretful tone. She wasn't sure where he was going with this. Talking about how monsters lived in the woods and in the dark, and rather then answer how he felt about them, he claimed the monster status. Was he trying to scare her? Was he ashamed of this? It didn't sound like it.

Whatever it was Rouge didn't have must to say about it. She didn't think he was a monster, despite his somewhat shocking appearance. Maybe a jump scare, but nothing long term. Unsure of where this conversation would lead next, and not looking forward to unspecific and confusing answers, Rouge thought to exit. But before she did she left him a few parting words. "I don't think you're a monster, but it's subjective. Use others perspectives to your advantage." she said with her exit. Abit of advise he could take however he chose till they ran into one another again.

That's fine, I desperately need to cut back on threads anyway!

Rouge's advice fell on ears that weren't not old enough to comprehend it. Ramsay watched after her as she left, puzzling over her cryptic words, then put it from his mind. Later in his life he might understand what she meant, but for now, he proudly thought of himself and his siblings as the monsters of Blackfeather Woods. With a gentle sniff, the dwarf turned and ambled away into the forest.
