All Welcome
When the itch had become unbearable, he had broke away from the confines of Moonspear for different views. Having set out following the curbe of the nountains between the expansive wilderness and the hinterland, he had dipped through narrow valley and open field alike. A nap mid-morning stole away time from his late hour departure; upon awakening the sun sat high in the sky with blooming clouds in the far west. It would not have surprised him if it snowed more come evening as such was typical of the season, though for now his attention turned to the forests that lay ahead.

In the shadowy cover of canopy within the weald the pallor sank in, leaving Dirge to stand out in his more vibrant autumnal hues. A chill hung in the air there, the shade offered little in the way of meltage but plenty of shelter. Dampness was a heavy taste and smell, the loam beneath what snow pack he travelled over reminded him more of winter in the mountains of home. The void of activity was refreshing as he delved deeper into his explorations, careful not to overturn himself on hazards tucked away in the weary ferns; lazy songbirds chirpped intermittently overhead as he slunk by.

This place he thought would do for an overnight he thought. He wouldn't dare be gone too long from Moonspear, knowing well winter was not quite over. Going back to the odds of having an empty belly far more frequently than a full one did not interest him, nor did breaking his word that he would see winter through with them. But the escape, the break from the monotony he had resigned himself to had become a dire necessity punctuated by the growing indifference he had as of late. He cared little for the tension mounting back there, still keeping himself as far from it as he possibility could. But the murmurs were still there, the little snippets Hydra divulged to him filling in gaps—it was an interesting turn of events if nothing else. Pausing to hover and run his nose along a fallen log, Dirge expelled all those intrusions in a breathy snort, still content he was alone for now.

This can pretty much go any which way you'd like, but Sara is definitely going to try and rile him up a bit. If it becomes a fight, mind using dice rolls? Also, you can hover for translations! :D

The scent of something other was too strong to ignore. Sara roused himself from his lying position not too far from where the stranger stood and watched with a red curiosity as he moved about, seemingly carefree. It was rare to see a wolf without his guard up, especially with the breeding season so near; it was assumed that this brute was either stupid enough to think that his position was secure or unfortunate enough to lack a family name to protect.

Sara thought back to his own harem and the lengths that he went to in order to protect his seed. The instinct of self-preservation seemed to come in short supply in these lands.

He stood and allowed a low growl to bubble in the back of his throat as his hackles slowly raised to half height. Nune'chue? There was an unsettling smoothness to his words that he had spent years of scolding and commanding to perfect. Sara stood to wait for a response, not yet aware that his tongue was different from any other.

A few more minutes ticked by in relative silence as he nestled further into unfamiliar territory. The scenery was more of the same in the tangled fern-laden grove but with enough variation that he did not slip entirely away to his thoughts solely. Dirge did spare a brief wonder for what the place would look like in bloom, questioning if it would be full of life and all green or half-choked by weeds now dormat beneath the frost.

A pause later on the edge of what he decided was long buried growth, the sense that his solitude was about to be interrupted overcame him. It was well timed by a bubbling growl as another seemingly materialized and emerged from the earth and ferns itself, though his dark coat certainly lent blending to the gradually dimming light of the waning day. In the same moment Dirge regarded this stranger he drew in a breath, wondering if somehow he had come stumbling close to a territory better steered clear of. Nothing turned up other than the damp and musty air; this dark-haired fellow was going it alone.

His words on the other hand provoked confusion to come rising up on his features; Dirge turned an ear halfway back as though to express this, a single word freed him his mouth: "Pardon?" It was a harsh language to hear, the inflection of tone difficult to ascertain had it not been for the growl that had preceeded it. Though not unfamiliar with uncommon tongues, it was not one he had heard, not pieced together with recognizable but broken words he already knew. This day had just taken a turn for the interesting.

Of course just as quickly, the stranger fled, and Dirge was left just as perplexed.

dice rolls are totally fine if it comes to it. i'm also strictly a mobile/tablet user so i can't hover so i guess that's more points for immersion lol. thanks for joining! welp since theyve gone inactive, edits for possible continuation... rip yet another thread ugh
