There was something timeless and classically enchanting about waterfalls. She was a shadow at the base of the mountain, wind-rustled and gleaming like fresh-spilled ink under the sun as she admired the crash of cold silver-blue feeding into the river leading south along the mountain range. Lazy steps brought her to the water's edge, gaze searching briefly around her. She felt the faint spray of water against her face and knew droplets gathered in her pelt.
She bent her head to drink, wondering not for the first time if she would find what she sought here. The chances were slim, as they had always been; nonetheless, she searched. The bond that had driven her from her home was stronger than any doubt, any unfavorable odds she might face.
The soft tell tale rustling of nearby movement drew her attention, and she lifted her head, inhaling deeply. The scent of another colored the air. She turned without hesitation, fixing scarlet eyes on a red stranger. Her lips curved slightly in immediate acknowledgement of their shared @Fire, but otherwise delayed her own reaction.

She had come with no purpose.  Perhaps subconsciously it was because of Dirge and his casual charm, but in her mind it was because she needed only to stretch her legs.  The sun was high, the air was warm, and there were no thunderheads in sight today which made, she hoped, for easy travel.

It was not long before the thunderous cascade of water caught her attention and she was pulled towards it, only to find that she'd been beaten there by yet another wild stranger.  Hey, she called amiably before moving to the water to drink.  What's good?

The flame-furred girl was unperturbed by her stare, her silence, and she found herself pleased. The smile grew slowly, silken and subtle. Beautiful, isn't it? She gestured to the waterfall with a brief toss of her nose, gaze lingering on the confidence written into the stranger's movements. The words were soft, barely audible over the crashing sound.

You live near here, She glanced over the girl, taking in the scent of many wolves mingling in her fur. For a beat, something ugly reared in her chest; the stranger was striking and lovely in ways the inkstain could never manage. The feeling was easily suffocated under her self-reprimand— vanity was foolish. You must know the land well.

Now she takes the time to rake her silver-metal gaze over the windswept girl, the sharp scrutiny of her scarlet king eyes, the way the sunlight reflects off of the moondust guard hairs.  She turns back for a second to the water, mumbles something in agreement, then shrugs.

You can say that.  I'd stay away from the woods up north.  This girl reminded her vaguely of Cassiopeia, and she really didn't want a repeat of that endeavor (even though that was her next stop, so long as this girl didn't also need help like... most wolves she encountered).  I live on a Plateau southwest from here.  Who are you?

She watched the girl's eyes sweep over her, ignored the uncomfortable prickle of being studied. It was only fair, and she had little to hide from this stranger. Her tail flicked once, twice. At the advice, her ears pulled forward, one eyebrow lifting slightly.

Haunted? She asked roguishly, flicking an ear and turning her face north, though she still regarded the girl from the edges of her vision. Nonetheless, she absorbed the information keenly, gaze drifting to the stated direction of the stranger's pack. A Plateau; quaint. She would keep the nearby pack in mind when winter came calling again, feeling no guilt for her fleeting loyalties.
Cecily, The wild-furred girl offered easily, gaze turning expectant on her fiery companion. Whether she was given a name or not, she continued. A large pack, I take it?

She pulled air sharply through her teeth.  Could say that, I guess.  Saved a girl that looked a lot like you.  She chuckled, tilted her head.  Damsels in distress always seem to find me.  She reclinecd onto her haunches, gave a short nod to the tight-lipped wisp.  Yeah.  Mostly family, some others.  I'm Ceara Blackthorn.

Her head tilted slightly at the harsh intake of breath, eyes finding the girl directly again. Lucky, She commented casually of the situations the other spoke of, tone slightly wry. The fiery stranger would find no damsels here. So you were born here. There was a hint of question to her tone, gaze sharp with curiosity.

She snorted.  More trouble than it's worth.  All of these cute girls that needed help tended to be more of a burden than a blessing, but it wasn't like she could just condemn them to death, either.  Damn morals.  No.

She wasn't sure how she felt about this spry, sharp little thing that was content on being both infuriatingly tight-lipped and curious; she wasn't about to give more information unless the girl decided to loosen up.
