All Welcome
Ramsay pressed north and west, for the moment unwilling to swing south to where he knew they must eventually go. All paths led back to that place, so no matter how he delayed it, that destiny was ironclad. He hadn't yet the words to say nor the will to stand trial and hold his composure, though, so he insisted on going north and west, avoiding both the mountains and the south for now. Soon. Soon he would go that way, perhaps pay Tindome a visit and pay Delight back for all the time wasted.

But the shadows... those would need to wait until he formulated a plan.

The woods he traipsed through were resplendent with shades of green still, though hints of autumn's coming hid among summer's bounty. Here, a yellowing leaf. There, a cluster of fallen ones. Ramsay knew little about the season, having been too young while autumn reigned to know much of it, but he knew change was coming. He tilted his muzzle up as best he could on his broad, hunched shoulders to drink in the air with its new crispness, then pressed on at a slow pace, seeking nothing but not averse to company at the same time. Perhaps a change in season would bring the appropriate change in him to make a decision regarding that place.

Loir never really explored much more of the Taiga really, in her opinion. Since she was a full member of Morningside now, she felt she should probably stay in her pack's territory, but maybe, since she was super adventurous, she could explore the Cache. It was a very beautiful place in her opinion, and she really liked it so far. Loir sniffed around, hoping to maybe find some prey here as well. A scent then headed into her nostrils, and she sniffed the air, noticing a wolf in the distance. Judging by his scent, maybe a lone wolf. A potential recruit, maybe?

Loir trotted over to the wolf. "Oh, hello!" She greeted in a very chipper manner. "I see you're exploring the Cache. Do you like it?"

Scratch that; Ramsay would rather have been alone. A chipper voice pulled his attention down from the canopy to the black-blazed face of a woman, who was approaching without the slightest hint of hesitation. His round ears pulled forward as he watched, face impassive despite the judgments he silently leveled on her. She was either blind to his deformity or she just didn't care, and she was seemingly very foolishor very naive to approach another without any caution at all. She was lucky he wasn't the reactive sort, or she might have soon found a chunk missing from her face.

"It's fine," he answered quietly, in a deep voice devoid of any real interest. For the moment the dwarf remained where he was, unmoving, and then he swung his body partway so he could glance off to the left, where a songbird tittered. The beauty of life was lost on him. "Are you alone?" he wondered, assuming she mustn't be, to be so confident approaching a stranger.

Something seemed a bit...off about this wolf, he seemed to be hiding some part of his face or was just shy. Loir wanted to investigate why, but she felt that would be the wrong thing to do. When he had asked if she was alone, Loir shook her head. "I'm just exploring, my pack knows, so they wouldn't be looking for me unless I took a very long time." She replied in a casual manner.

"Is...something wrong?"

"So," he summarized, "you're alone." He didn't much like these chatty types—always skirting around the point, never actually getting to it. Euron was an exception, of course. His brother could be quite loquacious, but it didn't bother him the same way it bothered him when other wolves talked a lot but said nothing. Euron said many things, many more than many a wolf realized. Twitching his stubby tail, the dwarf passed his gaze back across Loir's face, then grunted.

"It is unwise to be alone," he advised. "There are those who prey on the lone wolf." He blinked slowly, choosing not to elaborate, then changed the subject quite abruptly to ask, "where is your pack?"
