He rather liked this area, everything felt so peaceful and secluded. The patter of gentle rain soothed his nerves just a bit. Consumed by thoughts of his brother. Where he was and what he may be doing. He took in a deep breath, shook out his coat and attempted to compose himself. Ronnie was grown. Absynthe knew (well, actually, hoped) he could stay out of trouble for a few hours while the inky creature looked for something worthwhile.

Food, shelter, something fun. Anything would do.

Grezig wasn’t entirely sure what made her come back here. The thought that she’d almost had a home here, maybe? Or just to check up on that rumor of bears that the Sunspire wolves had spread. She smelled nothing as she explored, keeping an ever-watchful eye in the direction of the Sunspire pack in case some angry member came charging down into the valley at her. Technically, she was well within her rights to be here, and she did not plan on staying long. Still, she longed to return to the plateau where she knew she would be safe.

Up ahead, she saw a black wolf and stopped in her tracks, sniffing the air in his direction. He did not smell of the Sunspire wolves, and she didn’t recognize him from the meeting that day. Still, she decided to be cautious here. Not wanting him to think she was sneaking up on him, she chuffed to let him know she was there and then set her tail to wagging to show she was friendly. “Hail,” she called.

The scent and sounds were unfamiliar to the male. His purple eyes locked onto her lively figure. She seemed relatively harmless but the smell of others on her coat let him know he should perhaps be on good behavior. At least until he got a better feel for the situation.

Hello. He cooed back softly despite being slightly unsure on if her word had been a greeting as well. I hope I'm not intruding...? The lanky boy asked softly. While he knew that he had not smelled any borders here he knew that some wolves could be territorial even of things that weren't theirs.

His voice was soft but still loud enough that she could hear him. He spoke as if attempting not to wake someone, and Grezig could not help but look around, wondering if someone else was nearby. But she sensed no one. Perhaps that was just the way he spoke. His question of whether or not he was intruding let her know that he must not be from the Sunspire pack. She shook her head. “No, you are not intruding. No pack lives within the vale, but there is a pack who lives on that mountain.” She pointed her muzzle in the direction of the Sunspire. “And they are territorial about this place.” Grezig knew the potential danger of coming back here, but the boy did not. She deemed it a fair warning to let him know.

“I am Grezig,” she said, dipping her head in greeting. “You are…?”
