He’d seen her on the outskirts of the cuesta by mere coincidence, lurking with no real purpose. They hadn’t been marking the borders since they have no real intention of staying and he’s certain they hadn’t really deterred the stranger. Still, he moves with interest, curious to see what he can find out about her before he’s noticed. The day is cool and the wind still, giving him an advantage as he follows her toward the bypass.

She’s a pretty thing, young, pale and cream in coat and in some way reminds him of the girl he first met in these lands.  When she stops, Enx slinks back behind stone and lowers to the ground, ears cupped forward to listen for any continued movement. His heart beats heavy in his chest and he rumbles low, licking his lips, and only stepping back around into view when he hears the crunch of her steps onward.

taneleer wanders without any true destination in mind. these wilds are foreign to him and he sets out with the open mindedness of an explorer into uncharted lands. he moves with unparalleled leisure: the frosts have stole into these wilds but the prey is not yet scarce and though small woodland creatures are not preferable to big game they suffice. he passes many pack scents, giving their territories a wide berth to make it to the bypass.

a low rumble catches his attention. at first, taneleer considers ignoring it but he is beast of idle curiosities and he sees no harm in taking a peek. it alters his course only slightly and he sees, first, the pale and cream female. pretty. oblivious. ghost gaze moves from her then to the dark stranger that makes his presence known to her. for a brief moment, taneleer considers lurking in the shadows to watch because idle curiosity has manifested itself into a sinister inquisitiveness ...and as a beast that enjoys theatrics he would never pass up a good show.

spontaneity, however, bids the spartan's legs to push him out of the shadow and thick underbrush he hides in, moving to cut off the girl's exit. a haughty smile tugs at the edges of the punisher's lips as she angles her body so she faces them both, looking between him and the older man; clearly spooked and doe-eyed.

Enx makes no more effort to silence his steps. He does not want to be hidden anymore. He has found what he’s looking for in that moment and he does not wish to wait. She freezes when she catches him from the corner of her eyes and he smiles as friendly as the devil can, tail swishing a little behind him. There is only one way for her to run if not for his arms and he does not expect an easy chase. Her oblivion had given him enough of a head start. One paw lifts as she turns to dart but he has to stop when another shows up out of nowhere.

At first, his gaze hardens across the way at the brute holding his captive between them. Ears splay back against his head as his lips peel back, curling over his teeth in warning. He’d done the searching and the stalking, waiting for the right moment, and this guy is going to take it away from him? He wonders if he means anything to her, if he is her knight in shining armor, but the sinister grin the other offers is enough to understand intent.

Still, she is his prize and he will not take seconds when he’d put in all the work.

“Where are you going to run now?” he questions, licking his lips. His gaze flickers between the two as he gets closer and searches for the first mark he plans to sink his teeth into.

though taneleer doesn't deign to keep his pale eyes off the female for too long — lest she try to flee her trap — it does flicker, momentarily, to the other male. taneleer makes note of the lowering of the other man's ears and the curl of his lip. taneleer could try to steal her but he's not in the mood to fight ...and besides that there is some respect for the hunter. he is an addition ( likely an unwelcome one ) and he could settle for seconds. there is a wicked glint in his gaze as it flickers lazily back to the female, his grin beguiling.

taneleer finds it encouraging that she does not carry with her the scent of a pack, nor scent of others. that always made it easier. packs could get ...messy, especially when they felt punishment for the crime was justified; as the holder of the title punisher he can tell from experience that they often did seek retribution and justice. taneleer ghosts closer, applying the pressure that the dark coated male instigated upon her. herding her into a smaller radius so that she could not flee and if she tried she would meet the teeth of one of them.

"there's no where to run, lamb." taneleer reiterates in low, soft tone, the last word twisted with mocking; matching her tentative side-step as she tries to get around him as the two males close her window of escape. he lets out a low warning growl as she snaps her teeth at his face. obey, his darkening expression commands of her with the fur at his nape bristles and a flash of his teeth. if the dark man was planning on doing something, he'd better do it. there is a building anticipation in the spartan's breast, a quickening of his heart like the steady pound of a war drum that was quick to become impatient.

He moves closer to the girl, causing her to move away from him. The other stranger decides to help him out, blocking her way and taunting her just the same. One brow lifts as he watches but the glare is warning enough. She is his prey. Whatever is left of her when he’s done will be is but only once he has his fill.

The girl lunges forward, snapping at the other male, and he jerks and acts quickly. He takes advantage of her distraction, launching at her when her back is turned to him. Heavy paws slam against her chest, digging his claws into either side while his jaws snap against the back of her neck. She stumbles forward beneath his weight, joints locking with the new tension of surprise. His back legs drive her forward, jolting movements a few steps toward the other male.

Unlike deer, Enx does not put her out of her misery, but he does grip her scruff tighter, slinging his head and slamming her down on the ground, all her breath leaving her in a wheeze.
