Private

He had gladly given up hunting things that had feathers. Rokig was still far too shaken up after his whole incident with the talking bird. So he stuck to the water that day. His eyes roamed across the shimmering surface. There had been a few attempts to catch something but so far he had been unsuccessful. He would return home with something. He had to. After the other day's failure he could not come back empty again. Even a few tiny fish would do. Anything to show he was still capable of pulling his weight.

Something was moving just below the surface only a few feet away but he hesitated, waiting for the right moment to strike. It just needed to be a tad closer.

For a while, she hadn’t realized the extent of her curiosity but growing up in the same place and continuing to live there, she gets used to her surroundings. There’s still much to learn in Drageda, outside Drageda, and everywhere in between, causing her to venture out further south this day. Part of her wonders if she’ll run into @Erzulie if she keeps going but she doesn’t know where the woman has gone off to these days, or if she’ll see her again.

Helix licks her lips, the salty air of the ocean getting to her the further she travels. Not knowing the area makes it harder to find water so she veers her course and puts in the work. It leads her to a river but she is not alone now, another wolf standing in the distance. She makes no efforts to still her footing until she realizes he hasn’t move and slowly she comes to a stop, watching as he hovers over the water in silence.

rolled a catch ;; proof

He paid little attention to whatever might be approaching from elsewhere, he needed to catch this fish. At just the right moment he lunged down into the water with fast snapping jaws. The familiar scaly sensation was detectable between his jaws. He pulled his head back out of the water and gripped the fish tighter between his jaws. It was then he saw the inky figure that had come near.

She seemed healthy and capable. One he was sure the fish was done for, he set it on the shore and returned his silver gaze to the stranger. Do you fish?

Helix doesn’t move any closer, rooting her feet to the ground in the meantime. If he’s truly fishing, one loud thud could ruin everything for him. His concentration continues, focusing on the water rushing by, before quickly darting his mouth into the water. An eyebrow lifts, angling her nose up for a better look, and she feels a thrill of excitement to see a scaly, flappy fish flailing in his vice grip. When he turns to set it down, Helix takes a step back to keep a wide girth between them. She is not after his kill and she wants to make it obvious.

“Yes,” she tells him, loosening her posture a bit. “Nice catch.”
