All Welcome
entirely vague about the shift in leadership, but technically it would have happened by now.

he patrolled. everything had changed and yet, somehow, nothing had. terance was, and always would be, doing his job. the borders were where he belonged, and so the borders were where he stayed.

the brute traversed the territory with ease, by now. the outskirts of the territory were all too familiar now, and terance found he had no problems navigating them. he had grown accustomed to the new territory quite quickly, and he found he preferred the flat but barricaded by trees territory, to the mountainous ones. it shocked him, since terance had a love for the mountains-- they brought him closer to the stars. but it seemed he'd grown less acquainted with them since seabreeze's leave.

once upon a time, terance could gaze upon the stars and wonder if his mother was looking up at the same sky. now, he wondered if his daughter, if his son, were looking at the same sky.

and it hurt more. so he looked less.

many a thought roamed terance's mind, but his race remained still, stoic, as he walked. stopping every so often to rub against a tree or pee along the underbrush. such was life, now as it had always been.

Unbeknownst to everyone else, Nunataq was familiar with the borders of Lost Creek Hollow long before her family had made the move here and introduced to the people they were going to stay with now. A week or so ago, she had come accross a fresh pee mark here and spent a good hour, inspecting, what other scents lied there and left a message of her own here as well. Now, as she happened to be on the fringes of the territory again, she recognized the place and decided to inspect it again. Just to see, if her pee-pal had left some information for her.

Therefore, when the tall, dark guardian came across her, she had inspected the spot thoroughly and lifted her own leg (balancing on three paws came more easily to her - look, what practice does) and left those few droplets that she could squeeze out of her empty bladder. She barked at the man and in a happy enthusiasm dashed to greet him.

Making a few assumptions!

A lot had changed in Breccan's life in the past month, but his world wasn't truly turned upside down until his father was attacked. He didn't understand how or why it had happened -- Rannoch had seemed invincible, indestructible. And now he was critically injured, fighting for his life under the care of Hyacinth, and Breccan couldn't even see him. Any time he tried to get close to the medic's den, @Liffey sent him away; surely it was for his own protection, but it just served to make him a nervous wreck.

He avoided his sisters, and everyone else, really; so when he spotted Terance and one of the new youths, his ears flattened against his head and he hung back in a Wisp-like manner. He debated just slinking away into the underbrush, but a part of him yearned for reassurance from Terance -- whose pedestal in Breccan's mind was only an inch shorter than Rannoch's -- so he trudged slowly towards him, paying no mind to the unfamiliar girl as of yet.

i am assuming indra would have told terance her children's names...

terance turned to see a small pup, sort of dog-like in her appearance, patrolling along with him. she balanced like a male on three-legs to mark, but terance supposed that... females could do that too... if they so pleased-- they'd just make a mess on themselves. he wasn't going focus on this aspect of her.

she bounded over to him, excited and barking. so much so that terance almost missed breccan in the distance. he gave a wide smile at the happy child, despite the weight that pulled at his heart, because he knew she could not comprehend-- not fully-- what had transpired here in the previous days.

oh but breccan could. terance spotted the boy slinking quietly towards him, and his expression dulled. he could not pretend to be so happy in this child's face. not when his father lied in the medic's den. "hey, breccan," he said, his tail wagging slowly at his hocks, "nuna and i were just patrolling-- do you wanna come along?" he hoped his invitation was sweet enough to the frostfur boy.

Unlike the piebald female guardian, who had come to meet the Bearclaw valley wolves on the borders, this man is more welcoming. No distrustful scowls, no looks of disapproval and air of being distant, as if standing above everyone else. Come to think of it, Terance is the first grown-up male figure in Nunataq's life that acts genuinely nice. Normal. There and then she made the decision that she liked him.

Nuna was almost adult now, but next to this tall and muscular guy she felt significantly smaller than him. As she went around to have a good look at him from all angles, her movements are careful and her posture almost timid, as she determined, how close she could actually come. All the time she kept her tail low, wagging slowly at her hocks. Her whole body language expressed both curiousity and slight insecurity, covered with appeasing behaviour: I am good, I am harmless, I do not wish to hurt you.

Shortly after she had finished the "let's find out, who you are" session, Terance spoke to someone and Nuna turned to see, who it was. Her stance changed immediately, as she saw an opponent her size. She stood taller, ears were perked forward, her eyes and facial features were bright and alert, and she took a some confident steps towards the youn boy. She had seen him in company of other puppies, but had not dared to approach him. Now that they were one-on-one (Terance did not count), she wanted to establish, what kind of relationship theirs was going to be.

If, however, the boy ignored her inquiries and would focus more on Terance, then she would simply sneak around him and within a safe distance and craved neck have a curious sniff from behind.

Terance greeted Breccan and invited him to join in on their patrol. Breccan nodded his response; he didn't really feel like it, but he also didn't want to be alone, either. He was stuck in the middle of all these big feelings, and maybe this would help to get his mind off of Rannoch. The girl, introduced as Nuna, showed apparent interest in him, but didn't speak. Breccan regarded her cautiously for a long moment, his ears tilted back and his tail low as he regarded her.

She seemed friendly and more inquisitive than anything else; there wasn't anything particularly aggressive about her stance. Innately, Breccan was a social and curious pup despite the dark cloud currently hovering over his head, so he offered a small wiggle of his tail and the ghost of a smile. "I'm Breccan," he said, allowing his ears to shift into an upright position as his nostrils quivered and he took in her new scent.

Wrapping this up, since it is outdated by now.

After the brief sniff and with a good enough first sketch tucked safely in her mental notebook, Nunataq flashed the boy a sly toothy grin and with a see, ya, around wink retreated from him and took off in the forest. Suddenly she had a much better idea on, what to do with her time, than spend it on the borders, being bored by a conversation between to wolves, who knew each other well.
