Elixir had become a wanderer now, especially after what Freddie had said to her, she needed to travel more. She felt more herself when she had. This time she had come upon another forest, this one just as creepy as the last one. For some reason others always come to mind when memories pop in her head, this time the wolfdog was reminded of the creepy forest she had met @Wintersbane in and hoped that the man was doing well for himself. Despite all the voices in her head (that she wouldn't listen to anyway) telling her not to, Elixir entered the forest. Hairs stood up as straight as they could. The smell as she entered was of...predators.

And not herself, but bigger predators. As alarmed as she was the wolfdog kept her pace, slow and steady. Her cherry red orbs shooting all around to watch for anything trying to harm her because she was sure this time it wouldn't just be another wolf that would come out of the woodwork. A bird chirped and as it echoed through the forest her hackles stood up on end and she let out a blood curdled snarl.

Woah.... she realized what it was and took a few steps back, that was unusual of her. She had never done that before and didn't know what had come over herself.

Zugzwang
Wild Fauna

The cat had one goal in mind which made his eastward travel make sense - and that was to reach the land of his forefathers, the expanse known to so many of his people as sacred; to the wolves of the valley it was merely another spit of land, somewhere they must be extra vigilant in case the namesake creatures came lurking. For Zugzwang, it was so much more. He plotted his course with stealth in mind as his fresh wounds began to stitch themselves back together, all the while contemplating the chances of finding a female upon the slopes. He wondered too if there would be other men, beasts like him to beat down. He was not at his full potential and that irked him but it would not matter in the end, because the feline was soon waylayed by the scent of wolf.

To find wolves here, of all places, should not have surprised him. Perhaps his rage was already ignited after his previous encounter with their type; perhaps it was his building horomones that made him more volatile, but either way, the scent offended him. It took him away from the thoughts of the battles he was trying to prepare for, and the prize - the women he would hoard for himself.

The forest loomed on the horizon, much like the last one he'd found. This time he was more determined to drive away the wolf that invaded his space, and dove in to the shadows with as much fervor as one might expect a man at war. He crept with all the subtlety of his species but each step was heavy, each sound bringing a turn of his head or a sharp glare from his eye; then, separating from the shadows of the wood, he spotted the dark shape. Zugzwang did not make a sound (but oh, how he wanted to scream) and he launched himself in to a run, slipping along familiar paths until he was standing exposed on a ledge above the smaller creature.

From there he could stare her down - this mongrel, this invasive pest of a bitch - and he sprang forth from the ledge, aiming to pounce and draw his reaching claws across her supple flesh.

What in the world was she doing? Out here all alone...by herself... and acting like she was raised in a barn? What kind of wolf did she think she was? Psh.... Elixir took a second to just gather herself, nothing had been the same since Ruenna had been promoted to Beta and she had fallen ill with Greencough. It had gotten better now to the point where she had felt comfortable enough to make the decision to be out here...not that it was the best judgement but she made it.

The wolfdog had opened her eyes after she had come to terms with whatever just had happened. Forcefully she put a smile on her lips and looked around before she decided to move on from the bird. Elixir had failed to notice that she was putting herself closer to Zugzwang who watched over her like a hawk on the ledge just up ahead. Apparently she hadn't learned to watch her surroundings as closely from the last time she had been attacked.

Frolicking forward she stopped at the next tree and the next just to sniff around. Before she could get too far with the trees a shadow caught her off guard. It came from above and she hunched back in fear, rightfully so. It was a failed attempt to not get hit by the UFO as she felt a pierce of her skin and a flood of pain washed over her. Was this really happening again? Her thoughts about leaving BDP might be retracted now that this had happened again... could she ever really live on her own if this is what happened every month? All these thoughts made there way in her head, blood started to roll out of the wound the mountain lion had just made.
