Perhaps snow-diving was not the most mature thing a newly appointed adult should be doing, but Nunataq did not care. The Pepper garrison code of conduct was very flexible in, what was considered cool hot or not, and for the time being this silly activity had received a mark of approval. The girl jumped from one heap of the snow to other, sometimes sinking up to her chest and sending up a cloud of snowflakes, when she re-emerged from her snowy trap again. Now and then she would stop, to fall on her side and roll in the white, powdery substance, enjoying the coolness against her skin, only to spring up to her feet later and going in fit of "zoomies" in the vast field. Life was amazing for time being and all troubles were kept at bay by the sheer joy she felt.

Before she had managed to get herself frozen to death, the bulky girl tried to travel a bit further away from the sea. Because damn, was it cold over there. Once a passerby had told her there was a place called “rising sun valley”, she hopped her excited ass right on over. And yea, she could actually feel a bit of a difference. But the Valkyrie wasn’t very warm in the inside... she missed her sister, and after looking everywhere, she wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

Mood sour, she needed something to do, somewhere to go. If she could just take the bright ball in the sky that kept playing pussy with the clouds, and just stuff it in her gut, she might feel better. But seems that wasn’t the case for today.

A brown blur flew through the sea of snow a bit north of her path, and she blinked a few times to make sure she was getting this. Another Wolf?

Rather than shouting up the scene, she just chose to sit back and watch this stuff while she could. Would it atleast crack a smile on her haughty face?

Brown masked coats were just as bad camouflage as russet agouti ones against the almost blinding white backdrop. Therefore it did not take long, before Nunataq noticed that she had an audience and approached her with huge leaps (that way she moved faster than a simple ploughing through the snow would have been) and stopped at a safe and polite distance. Her body language expressed a friendly curiousity - wagging tail and her neck craned towards the other lady, so that her olfactory machine might get as much scent molecules as possible.

When the other had done her share of the greeting ritual (if at all), Nuna thought that further courtesy and manner stuff was entirely unnecessary, plopped down in a play bow and invited the other for some racing and sparring.

Well it went without much saying that Valkyr had  been surprised she hadn’t been interviewed for her just sitting there and watching like a creep. But maybe she was just lonely? Maybe she had missed her puppyish days where she should have been allowed the chance to play around in the snow and tear some shit up. But the way things had gone in their family, playtime just wasn’t an option. After her and Vyn ran away, her sister was all she had left. Now that she was alone, the hardass just thought she was seeking some companionship.

So when the smaller girl, still pupping around, was friendly, even going so far as to soundlessly greet and ask for a play, Valkyr appreciatively offered the same thing. Puppies didn’t really have too much to fear; and with this younger girl simply enjoying the world for what it was instead of having a chip on her shoulder like the rest of them, Valkyr felt lighter. Almost as though she weren’t weighted down with the gloom she had been seething in all her life.

Standing and shaking out her own coat, she felt the full stuff come free in her Mexican tresses, curtains of autumn flailing and flaying in place to breeze to her newfound company. She was quite larger than this baby girl, and she made a hard pressed mental note to only go as rough as the kid wanted it to be. And that in itself was a surprise to the usually angers and rough Reigns.

Accepting the play bow, she scooted a few inches forward, a sly gleam gliding over her bright topaz eyes as she threw herself forward, showing then in their own personal snowstorm. Through the ivory haze, Valkyr had smile on her face as the brutish woman tried wrapping a long pair of forelimbs on the speedy kid’s back. But as true to name, she was prepared for the girl to be completely not there, evading her hulky maneuver.

And that was okay.

Where Nunataq lacked in size, there her personality matched up and she rarely if ever felt intimidated by differences in builds. However, had she known that she had been referred as a baby-girl, she would point out that in fact she occupied the middle ranks of the Pepper gang and was on her way to being promoted from Jalapeno to Carolina Reaper. Her innocent, friendly and naive looks were deceiving - she was a fiery pepper of doom and the wolf would soon find out.

The other, however, won the first round because of experience and depth of snow, her weight on her, pushed the kid in the heap, so that she fell sideways and was almost buried by the snow. And knowing from experience with Aerasha that being pinned down by someone heavier than her was something she was not able to escape from, she shifted her body, rearranged her paws and half-swam, half-dove, half-jumped (I guess there can be three halves of everything?) through the deep snow, putting distance between herself and the lady and looking like snow mole to anyone, who might be watching from the sidelines. Only the tail, which was kept up like a flag mast betrayed that this was a canine.

Once sure that she had escaped the pouncing, Nunataq shot upright from the snow and looked for her opponent.

Funny and cute dog videos playing in the snow. Inspiration for Nunataq - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDjGJzBdAwY . Especially the terrier in 1:15.

Well Valkyr had been a good partially-bamboozled as her vivacity behind the tidal avalanche was so extreme that she had lost the dolphin-like pup. She however, was a floof of snow, whereas Nuna had been a tiny heap. Shaking herself free of the cold coat, she bounded forward, peaking the create of the humongous waves like a Catalina through the pale Pacific. Her own flag waved up high, wagging her enjoyment of this moment as she divebombed rather near the majoritively hidden kid. Forearms splayed wide she thrashed the snow, trying to rouse the hidden ruse of the playmate.

There she was, moving through the snow like an avalanche on a horizontal plane, like huge snow monster, ready to devour it's prey. Nunataq crouched, waiting patiently for the right moment. It was a wolf version of jack-in-the-box. As the other adult was nearing her, the crank was being turned and the innocent melody was playing. The moment it snow-bombed right next to Nuna, the figurative lid of her hiding place sprang open and she popped out like that notorious jester and with out-stretched paws and opened maw aimed at the other wolf's scruff. Experience so far had told that this was the best way to have an upper hand with any kind of opponent (except those, who made a pancake out of her, by falling on her).

It worked!

but FAR from the way she expected to- because next thing she knew she had a new wolf necklace. The surprise flung her feet from under her as she partially allowed the weight of the impact to soften the weight of her own fall. Twisted on her side, both wolves went down in the foaming White Sea of snowiness, inhaled completely.

Worming around, the thick girl barked a muffled laugh under the heave of  frozen water. She snapped at the petite brunette, snapped at the washes of snowballs, hell she might’ve even snapped at herself. But caught up in the romping, her main goal was to playfully nom on the dame’s limbs. But in the slurry of flurry, everything was confusing!

Inspired by the victory, Nunataq tugged gently at the part of fur that was locked between her jaws, series of growl resonating in her throat and the inevitable slobber that trickled down her lips and wetted the fur and skin of her opponent. She, however, laughed and being at disadvanteg squirmed and wiggled to break free, her teeth grazing against Nuna's forepaws, making her shuffle from one foot to the other, in order to avoid them being caught hold of. Finally, she decided to dance around the lady and rearrange her hold on the scruff, by now standing slightly awkwardly behind the she-wolf, making her to abandon the scruff-pin-down tactics, let it go and move on to mouth the other's ears and the side of her face. If she let her.

Being able to locate her playmate was alot of work- but once she found her and succeeded at keeping her at bay, Valkyr could finally get her legs back under her. Doing so, she kept low, heavy and hearty hinds pushing her forward as she made plans to simply shovel all this snow with the girl that was straddling her whole head! Had they not been playing, Valkyr would have assumed plenty of things, but this kid was just doing kid things. Nothing triffling here.

Now the playmate was chowing down on her face, and luckily for her, she wasn't as vain as her sister; She didn't care if her face got ruined! She was all about that fight! And this encouraged Valkyr to aim careful noms towards the youth's shoulder, worming a heavy head over and around like some kind of bobble toy, bounching back and forth between the splindly shoulders of her partner.

The jawspar continued for a while longer with wins on both sides, until Nunataq grew bored with this, bumped her nose against the other's neck and then made several, awkward leaps backwards, half-burrying herself in the snow. She fell on her side and made wolf-angels for a bit, then sprang to her feet again, got in a play-bow and with a wagging tail invited the other for a game of chase.

To tell the other, what to do, she ran (as ellegantly as one can being chest-deep in the snow) a lap around the lady, then dared to approach and snapped playfully in the other's direction, before dancing away again and waiting just long enough for her playmate to react and then took off.

She sparred with the stranger, until her never-stopping engine had slowed down somewhat and she bid the other goodbye in order to return home happy and victorious.
