They were official. She had never thought the day would come where she could walk around like the queen she was, comfortable inside their kingdom filled with peculiar souls and hidden treasures. However, what was more exciting was the thought of raising their children here. It was no secret that Nyx was nearly desperate to give Damien his heirs he seemed to want almost as badly. She wanted to give him everything, mostly out of love but also because there was a newfound jealousy within Nyx. She wanted to be just as suitable for him as a Melonii would be, perhaps even better, to make sure he would not leave her for someone purer of blood. Despite their "practice runs", her heat had not come yet and she was starting to worry.

That was, until she woke up with a burning feeling underneath her tail as the sickeningly sweet aroma of her fertility hung in the air. Tulugak was nestled in a bush nearby, fanning his wings, and Nyx grinned. Finally, and just in time. Though she had not experienced a heat prior to that day, this was unmistakably her own that had come along.

The sky was clear, pitch black with the moon high and bright in the sky surrounded by seemingly endless speckles of white. How perfect it was... She got up and turned to Damien, kissing him awake if he wasn't already looming over her.

Perhaps because of the excitement and devotion to cementing their claim on Deepwood Weald Damien had failed to act on it, but he had, although unconsciously, definitely noticed his desire for his lover deepen in the past days. She just looked so radiant and full of life, so delicious if you may, that when she nudged him awake with kisses and love he could only feel passion. Ñuha hūra, he whispered lovingly and returned all the kisses with gentle moves before burying his face on the musky fur of her chest. Today, for some reason, the only thing Damien wanted to do was spend the entire day curled up with Nyx in their new palace.

How does my queen like her new palace? he said with a smile as his kisses started running down her chest. His nose was on the steering wheel, and he was bound south. By her manner of waking him, Damien had assumed that Nyx was in a sensual mood, and who was there to lie to? Damien was always in a sensual mood around his night empress.

She smiled happily when her lover awoke from his slumber, nearly grinning from ear to ear when he came to return her affections. Though it had been out of duty that she had become his mate, she felt that she did truly love him more so than she had had any other. Then again, the only stable relationship she had besides theirs was with Aries and she had kidnapped him as a child so she wasn't sure if that even counted. The closest she had to a friend was a not-so-very talkative raven and maybe Alarian? Her take on what was love and what wasn't had been obscured from a very young age, but as long as her (what she thought to be) love made her happy she wasn't about to bail on her promises. It wasn't like she wanted to carry her lover's children because she was afraid he'd leave her either, so she thought. She liked the idea of a family, perhaps because she felt like she didn't really have one herself, but she thought it was all because she loved him.

I love it. She quietly said. Perfect for a family, would you not agree?

A chill runs down the shadowman's spine at Nyx's touch. He thirsts for her body, thirsts for her virtue, and craves to fill her with his seed. Their entire life was based on the promise of her giving him proper heirs, and though so far she'd been the perfect wife Damien couldn't wait to get his real prize out of the deal.

Agreed, he answered with a honey whiskey tone, We only need to fill it up with pups now he added sensually as he shoved his lover to get on top. Every other time Damien had been a gentle lover, keen on foreplay and seduction, but today he was way past trivialities. The courting had been done and she's agreed to be his property. Today he would finally seal the actual deal.

She knew she had almost been created for Damien, promised to him as a wee babe and now as a woman in his sweet embrace. But this wasn't the first time for Damien, she didn't know that. She didn't care. Though her body would ache after, go through the pains and pleasures of pregnancy, there was nothing more she wanted than him and her as one. Pretty flower, dutiful bee, all that shit.  Feckin' pollinate me.

She moved her body over his, chests touching and her nose dug into the fur on his neck. It was a bit awkward in this position, but when one truly loved there was no room for awkwardness. Insecurities? Get out. Rationality? Long gone. With a gentle kiss on his cheek did she purr; Then what are you waiting for?

With chests against each other Nyx tempted him to take her, but Damien didn't really need the cue. His teeth started nibbling at her skin on her cheeks, slowly tightening their grip as he trailed down her neck until he was grabbing a mouthful and his hips started pressing against hers.

That feeling, he had almost forgotten it, but this time there wasn't only hormones and chance intervening, with Nyx it was so much more. He'd been expecting this moment for so many moons, and the hype had only increased in the past few. Finally, he took her, thrusting his manhood inside her in a rhythmic sway so strong it almost seemed frantic.

This wasn't a practice run. This was the real deal. She could finally become pregnant by his seed, spawn the heirs they desired, the souls they would shape. And all while being the king and queen of their small but powerful kingdom. She trusted their members, trusted they would put the pack before their own just like their leading pair would. Survive, strive, become a force to be reckoned with. All the doors were open and there was no going back.

She felt him enter her and saw stars dance across the inside of her lids, his crescent moon eyes giving her the feeling she was being watched. She wanted to be seen by him like this, wanted all of his attention on her for the coming week. One time was a gamble after all, the more they'd do it, the higher the chance would be that she would really become pregnant. The young Nyx would become a mother. perhaps even a grandmother someday. She moaned the pleasures of both their interaction and her thoughts away, burying herself into his soft fur and feeling like jelly for him to play with. She nibbled on his skin, pressed kisses when her teeth became tired, squirmed and made sure he knew she was enjoying it all.

And after his release, Damien felt more fulfilled than he had ever felt in his entire life. It was a magical sensation rippling across his body, injecting him with enormous levels of energy and peace at the same time. He couldn't tell whether it was the idea of finally getting to build his own family, in his own terms, or the passion and love he felt for Nyx what had him blind and breathless, but he didn't really care. All he wanted now was to lay beside his queen and wake up next to her to do it all over again.

Of course, they were pretty much tied to each other now, so there wasn't really another option. Damien turned his body to accommodate Nyx's hips between his thighs, and while still linked to her he embraced her from behind doing big spoon. He quite liked being the big spoon.

She felt it enter her and quickly after that it was done, for now. She lay still and silently for a while, nearly purring in his embrace. It hadn't been her first time with him, but it was the first time it was possible that she would become pregnant. Whether this load would do it, or the next, or the one after that - it didn't matter. As long as Damien was with her, she didn't mind anything.

I love you. Escaped her mouth in a soft tone. It was the honest truth.

Calm fell upon him, and his respiration flowed in tandem with that of his lover. It was everything they had achieved, and the sweet promise of everything else they could still do that brought Damien his calm these days, and it was the first time in his life that he had ever felt truly at ease. Not once throughout his childhood had Damien been so well accompanied than these days, with a powerhouse consort to bear his children and a whole battalion of Meloniis that supported his claim and believed in his vision. Nothing could stop them now.

It was just before his mind drifted away into a dream that his lover said those three words for the first time ever. 'I love you'. And they have most likely also been the first time Damien had actually believed those words coming from someone who was not his mother. She had said it only a couple times, and still, they had been the one thing that had kept him going after her tragic death. Now he had someone new and worthy of saying them again, and it filled Damien's heart with a warmth he'd barely even dreamt of before in his life. First, he had to make sure he'd heard it, and after he confirmed it, he could only savor the strange feeling that ran through his chest before saying, with all confidence, and absolutely honestly: I love you too, ñuha hūra
