@Sentinel
family cameos are welcome too!
Foward dated to April 3rd

His eyes and ears had been open for a few days now, and the world had changed completely. He could see and hear, and he was overwhelmed with the desire to see everything, even if most things were just blurs of color. The golden blur of color he saw near the the big bright area made him lift his head up to stare. He knew that blur well and associated it with feelings of comfort and warmth much like the black form he spent most of his time with. Pheiros pulled himself up on shaky legs and began to slowly move towards the golden form, his movements jerky and unbalanced as he tried to carry his own weight across the ground. He could tell his legs were getting stronger, but they were still too feeble to get him very far, much to his frustration. He made it about halfway to his other source of comfort before falling back to the ground with a squeak. He looked around for a few seconds before letting out a frustrated, somewhat panicked cry. He was too tired to keep moving just yet and very disgruntled that he couldn't get where he wanted.

he's still in awe of his children in a way he can't find words for, not even in the quiet of his own thoughts. he's never loved anything so much — but this love is different from any he's ever experienced. it's a fierce, desperate, fearful sort of love; a deep-rooted knowledge that he would do anything to protect them — and that he will likely need to at some point, cruel as the world can be. the thought inspires no small amount of paranoia. so when he's not busy hunting to feed elixir, he spends much of his time watching over their children (and her, of course).
today is no different, though it seems his children are becoming more aware of his presence in their lives. his ears perk slightly as he watches pheiros stir, heart jumping a little when the child's eyes land on him. he swallows, a little stunned by the depth of the feeling that crashes over him as his son starts to pull himself to his feet, moving toward him. for a moment all he can do is stare, wide-eyed and overjoyed that his child is paying him any attention at all — but then pheiros falls, and a soft snort slips from him involuntarily. he closes the last of the distance between them as his son cries out, whining softly and licking his head and ears a few times. after a moment, he starts to nose through his fur, checking him over from muzzle to tail-tip before nudging him gently, urging him back to his feet. you can never give up, he thinks, gently licking his ears again, the world won't let you.

He wasn't alone on the ground for long, the golden form soon moving to where he had fallen. Pheiros was amazed at the speed in which he moved. He hoped one day his legs would obey his wishes like that, but today he would just have to deal with fat, shakey legs. The licks and feeling of the golden blur's nose moving through his fur quieted his discomfort, and he tilted his head back to look once more at the large mass of comfort.

The light gleaming around the gold drew his attention, and Pheiros immediately became curious. Slowly, he pulled himself back up, and after a second of wobbling in place, he began to move again, this time towards the shining light. He had to see what it was.
