All Welcome
Forwarded to April 6th!

She was upset. Her older brother and baby sister had explored the outside world without her and Zephyr. They had some serious guts. How did she know? She had smelled all the unfamiliar smelly scents all over them when they had come back inside and woken her up. She did her best growl which came out as a high pitched warble and immediately decided it was her turn to explore. She'd rather die than be the last one to step outside! So she pushed herself up onto wobbly legs and took a few determined steps toward the den opening, giggling to herself before she gracefully faceplanted into the dirt. She lay there legs splayed and blinked a few times before she struggled to her paws again, taking her time and finally reaching the outside.

She gasped and her hind end plopped to the ground as she stared. Her mind expanded, slowly grasping the concept of more, of a bigger world than just the den and her siblings and her momma and daddy. Words weren't a thing she knew yet and so she shrieked excitedly, standing up much too quickly and teetering to the side, falling over again. She groaned and coughed a few times before standing again. She was more curious than her siblings were and therefore took more steps away from the den, babbling enthusiastic nonsense about her view of the world. A gentle breeze blew and she sniffed it, looking rather entranced as all the scents hit her at once.

She hadn’t been gone long, having left Alessia asleep within the confines of he den, Lie had ventured out to stretch her legs. Bring back a rabbit from the cache that Benedict and herself had caught a few days ago. The carrion hung limply from her mouth as she rounded the bend and trotted upward toward the den.

With her ears perked forward she caught the small voice of her eldest daughter, and she quickly came before the entrance to find the ebony girl babbling to herself. Getting a little closer, Rosalie dropped the mammal in her jaws, stepping over it she gently nudged the child in greeting. Giving her slobber lick atop her head.

“Hello darling. What are you doing out here?” At almost a month old, it was getting time for the youngsters to head toward the entrance. With a mental groan, Lie could only imagine the mischief her children would get into in the coming months.

Her head turned at the presence of her third parent, her other mom and she grinned in response to the question her tail wagging a mile a minute. She stood and tottered over more careful now that she was being watched "Ahhhhhbababa" she said reasonably and licked Rosalie back. Laughing at her nonsense words she stood again and went to inspect the thing abandoned by her mom. She sniffed it and her ears perked, head tilting as she growled and pounced on it grabbing it with tiny baby shark teeth and shaking it wildly back and forth.

Giving the girl a motherly smile at the returned lick and the gibberish, Lie side stepped. Offering the youngster easier access to the new toy. Plopping herself across from the girl, Rosalie settled the rabbit and the pup between her forearms.

Giving her a playful growl, Lie pretended to defend the creature. Gentle nosing Lainie, aiming to get her off balance. The petite lady wasn’t used to playing with children, but for some reason this just seemed to make sense. Lie knew games were important to their development, and she would do anything to see them succeed.

There was something about the smell and the way the furry thing moved that really got her going. She growled and adjusted her grip on it, standing almost so she straddled one of Rosalie's forelegs her tiny black tail whipping up over her spine. Then her momma growled and she lifted her gaze, a defiant and confused "Hmmph?" coming muffled just as she was bumped aside. She stumbled over Rosalie's other leg and rolled over completely, a startled and annoyed cry coming from her maw as she righted herself. She lay still for a moment, glaring daggers at the woman before her ears flattened back and she stood up wobbling as she bowed down and slunk forward. With a low growl she grabbed the rabbit and yanked it, trying to steal it from between Rosalie's legs and failing to free it. She tried again and again and again, determined little grunts and growls coming from her maw. Wary of another push, she kept eyeballing her mother occasionally growling with more firmness. She meant business, she would take this toy and when she got bored of it she would toss it on top of her sleeping siblings to scare them because she was super nice like that and they would love it when they got done shrieking anyway right?

The girl wailed as she toppled over her leg from the nudge, although she didn’t seem hurt mostly just annoyed. Which was alright wit Lie, trying hard to conceal her amusement as Lainie glared at her. The child tried again, slinking toward the rabbit before pouncing on it and tugging with all her might.

When she failed to pull it away from her Lie lowered her snout so it was on the ground, peering up at the obsidian girl with her seafoam green gaze. A mischievous glint flashed before Lie rose, giving he daughter another playful growl she grabbed the carcass, and lifted it above the girl and straining herself to keep it out of reach.

She was tiring herself out by using brawn (that she didn't have) instead of brain (which she was slowly developing). She panted softly as Momma lowered her head and she caught something in those green eyes. She didn't know what it was but it sparked something within her, a challenge that she wanted to meet. She bowed down her hind end wiggling and watched disgruntled as the rabbit was lifted up high enough that she couldn't reach. She stared open mouthed at the seemingly impossible challenge, a tiny bit of despair threatening to ruin the moment before the playful growl righted her mood again.

Lainie looked from the rabbit to her momma and back again before rushing forward and playfully biting at the closest regions to Rosalie's maw she could reach. She would grab the skin, chew gentle enough not to hurt her and then yank downwards hoping to cause enough annoyance for her mother to drop the rabbit. Her tail waggled behind her as she gave a persistent growl growing a bit too excited, her hind legs pushing up of their own accord. With a surge of energy she pushed off the ground and jumped, jaws parting as her eyes widened comically as her clumsy jump brought her almost close to the rabbit. Then gravity struck and she plummeted downward, landing in an awkward sprawl across her momma's legs. She yipped at the impact and lay still, panting heavily and staring at Rosalie with a slow spreading grin, her expression seeming to say "Did you see that?!"

A proud smile stretched around the rabbit within her jaws, lowering it to the ground she gave Lainie the satisfaction of reaching the creature. “Fantastique my baby.” Lie cooed, running her cheek against Lainie’s own, and giving her a gentle lick across the top of her head.

“Come. Shall we let your brother and sisters in on the fun? Hmm?” Lie reached for the rabbit once more, and started the short distance to the den, waiting to see if Lainie would follow.

The surge of warmth she felt at her Maman's pride made her do a full body wiggle and she yapped happily, laughing at the kiss as she stood up and eyeballed the rabbit greedily. The suggestion to include her siblings made her pause and for a moment she was tempted to try to keep Maman and the new toy to herself before she imagined Polaris's sweet smile and sighed softly, giving a resigned nod. "Okay Maman!" she chirped and scampered inside the den to rouse her siblings into a game if she could manage to do so.
