ingram was a mess as the days pulled closer; blodreina grew more gravid by the day, and even an ignoramus such as he knew her time was almost at hand. so, because he was probably overbearingly annoying fretting on blodreina's behalf, ingram decided the best course of action was to keep himself busy and out of blodreina's fur.

today he kept himself distracted by hunting -- not that he was doing so successfully. he was too distracted to make a kill, and what had been several easy catches had eluded him. settling by the lake to get a drink, ingram peered at his reflection and frowned. it was one of the first times he had seen his reflection up close; he looked tired, and most of all, he looked... old.
