@Aries -- we're back baby

she was back. not that her disappearance would have anyone losing sleep or anything but it was surprising enough for her to find her paws once again travelling across the lands of teekon. with the death of relmyna and blackfeather woods disbanding there hadn't really been much left for the woman to keep her tied to these lands. plus it had been quite the handy excuse to get the hell out of such densely populated areas with the harsh arrival of winter. it hadn't exactly been her plan to spend such a difficult season packless but she was no stranger to the harder sides of life and so with a bit of struggling here and there she'd come out on top- and pup free thank fuck. that'd been a large factor in her leaving, without the pack she'd had no desire to spend such months having to be constantly on the lookout for an instinct driven male to hassle her. at the current moment there's little she'd hate more than the burden of pups- the mere thought sending a shudder through her smaller frame.

however still no valid reason would present itself to her as to why she'd chosen to return here. the lands beyond these confines were vast and apparently neverending and it was rare- in fact it had never happened, for her to return somewhere after making a decision to leave. and yet here she stood, not too far from where she'd lived in the dark forests only months ago. night cloaked the lands as she moved with her silent grace- a pale ghost winding her way through the thickening vegetation with absolutely no destination in mind. the earth was spongy underpaw and her nose would wrinkle at the frankly pungent smell of life shoving its way into every available space with the coming spring. honestly she quite preferred the bluntness of winter- spring and summer were far too crowded for her liking.

eventually her steps would slow until she stood still- dark eyes sweeping curiously around her surroundings. the vegetation was almost suffocatingly thick here- the night sky hidden from view but there was a comfort to the shadows that wrapped almost protectively around her form. fireflies floated lazily about the in their little haven- dappling her light pelt where they pierced the shadow's veil. her large orbs appeared black as coal in this light save the specks of light reflecting the bright bugs. an odd and oh so damn rare feeling of peace washed over her as haunches allowed her much skinnier frame now to rest not that she felt tired- in fact the blood that flowed through her veins felt rather buzzed.

yesssssss

The clan was his first priority, the shadow-swathed troupe of blackfeather survivors; it was true they had abandoned the sacred woods, but for valid reason. Damien possessed true melonii blood, and he would lead them on their destined path, the slayer was certain - Nyx was to birth new young and from this the clan would grow. They would strengthen, and rise up against whatever plights cursed their future.

The Svartell frequently departed from the security of the weald, svelte figure sliding like a serpent betwixt lingering trunks and fallen branches; those mortified victims of the winter gusts. A desolate battleground. The tormentors of the season had begun to part, but spring was not fully upon them, as snow still remained and the fog sat thick upon the horizon. Winter was a stoic time of peril and blunt force, luring the creatures into hiding, waiting for the frigid tremours to pass - the weak would perish, the worthy would prevail, and the cycle continued, cleansing the teekon every year. It was Aries' favoured time (though in truth he cared little for any of the seasons), as the crisp orbs of ivory were unstoppable, claiming every inch of the land and stretching icy tendrils across all nooks and crannies; very few were left untouched. It was a display of brutish conquer, the victory of nature as it battled itself.

A few glimpses of new life sprung ahead in the undergrowth, and he observed the snatches of green with a distinctly cold, blank expression.

Watching the dead be overcome with revival and an ebbing river of natural medication was not something he particularly pledged himself to - his glacial gaze swept over, across, then away, as large paws trekked through the snow. It was only when a vaguely familiar scent dove to the parting of his lips that he paused, lean body halting to survey the surrounding area; the nameless girl, who's challenge had not passed unforgotten. The Mystery. He disliked the curiousity that would tumble unwanted through his thoughts at recalling her, but the lure of the untouched memory was a tug that even he didn't care to resist. He wove toward Tundra (who was illuminated by the steady glow of fireflies), then paused again beneath the shade of a gnarled tree.

"Our paths seem determined to cross." came the husky timbre of a devil in waiting. It was a statement he thought true, though the cursed starborn was hardly much for believing in the concept of fate, or destiny. What would this encounter bring?

I will raise Hell.

oh so fragile was the clarity of peace, such a fleeting little emotion never...ever destined to last. as if destined to amuse some cruel puppeteer such feelings of serenity would be uprooted suddenly the second he was thrown her way. because of course it would be him, who else could possibly happen across her at that very moment. his scent announced the man's presence before his darker form even came into view- a nice companion to the shadows that greedily licked up his frame. her own body unfolds- instinct giving its silent command to perhaps not lounge around one she certainly did not trust. however the dark pools that met his icy shards held not wariness but merely an unreadable yet seemingly keen intensity.

the glen would continue to shelter them from anything outside of it- for now all that existed were the two soldiers and the dancing fireflies that battled with the shadows slinking about. the silence is broken by the deep toned words that slip from the brute's jaws and a brow of hers arches slightly in return. "or perhaps you simply have an odd obsession with me and sought my presence the second you were aware i once again walked these lands" is the murmured response. such words could be thrown even playfully back but are hard to decipher when spoken in such monotone ways. in reality she half wondered was he right, she never believed in anything quite being destined yet it was odd that this damn man would find his way back to her after the...for lack of a better word; strange....interaction they'd had last time. then again he'd used determined, not anything like destined. that she could perhaps go with.

the tip of her tail would flick from leg to leg but siding that the pale woman remained completely still despite the frustrating increased speed of her heartbeat and the new energy tingling within her limbs at the idea of stepping in the direction she certainly did...not...want to go in. her jaw clenches ever so slightly, who the hell even was he? it was almost amusing to realise she knew literally nothing about him- not even a name. only that he indeed existed and that bothered her immensely.

The dark was thick with luminosity, beads of shimmering gold to hang as jewellery between two souls - a tempting offer, luring the beast as one might a dragon, but he could resist. He would resist; the tug which had driven him to seek out her presence was the same one he required to lock away, heavy in iron chains. The Slayer was stronger than this, and a woman would not be his downfall.

To her twisted preposition, black lips quirked roughly at the edges, the barest twitch of movement to signal a glimmer of amusement. "Humerous," came the gravelly echo of Aries' voice, "but incorrect." Unfortunately for this girl, of whom he had yet to uncover a name, the Svartell was adept at reading body language - no matter how many secrets she bid herself to hide away, the steady flick of a wispy tail did not go without notice. She was in anticipation of something; what, the soldier could not say, but she was waiting. He let his words hang in the air, a breath of icy wind licking down his throat.

Despite all else, whatever it was that drew him to Tundra had yet to present itself in a way he could understand - if there was one thing Aries hated most, it was not understanding. A king of the dead must know all, see all, and he'd be damned if anything escaped the skeletal force of his grip. In this world, knowledge was power, and he wanted to know. Steel claws drew him closer, but his eyes did not focus upon the girl, but upon the charcoal sky, and the fireflies which danced beneath. "Why did you return?" There were plenty of reasons for escaping the teekon's lands, but what had driven her to come back, come back to a world bathed in trouble? She must have pondered over the idea of encountering Aries once more, and he revelled in the idea that the clench of her jaw had been doing of his own. He savoured the briefest drop to quench his thirst, but it seemed almost to evaporate before hitting his stomach, an insatiable hunger. Only now did his icy gaze slide toward the dark hazel pools of her own, watching and searching for something he failed to name.

the placements of the small glowing bugs in that exact moment would make the young woman's gaze to appear cracked into two separate colours- giving the illusion of being bicoloured when they were in fact, not. her right eye remained shielded by the shadows and was as black and pitless as those of a shark whilst her left orb was caught in the bug's direct light and glowed an almost feverishly bright hazel, the colour misleadingly soft for the emptiness held beyond. these mismatched eyes of course never left the man if he even deserved to be called that, brute suited him better. his stoic demanour did nothing to throw her off, she knew better than anyone that anything could be taking place beneath such a facade especially when she'd dare say he was almost as good at keeping such emotion locked away as her. although whether it was a gift or a curse could certainly be debatable.

his words -even accompanied by the slightest upturn of dark lips- brought no change to the increasingly icy demanour she was observing him with as the initial surprise of his presence wore off and she got a better grasp of control over the situation. "always been one for the humour" was the only dry remark given before the usual silence resumed its slow twisting dance between them. a gentle inhale would leave her noticing that yet another pack scent now clung to her company's dark coat, a smell she wasn't familiar with but it was too strong to suggest he'd travelled any distance so it had to be around here. new maybe? nevertheless such questions would never be spoken aloud despite her budding curiosity as to why he had left blackfeather woods. his name had never been mentioned in her time there granted she hadn't done a whole lot of socializing but still. it was a shame that the listener had passed, tundra would have liked to possibly learn more from the experienced woman but so was the way of life, although she didn't share the other pack wolves belief in any gods on the off chance any of it was real she hoped the woman was at peace.

an icy breeze snaking its way through the tightly woven branches and causing a shiver to race down her spine sent her crashing back into the present, at least the shiver was caused by something explanable. a brow arched slightly when the beast came closer- seemingly occupied by the sky above. she was almost surprised when his deep voice sounded again, only almost but that was applaudingly close on his part.

for a few moments she said nothing because frankly, she didn't know. it had just...happened and since she was usually a being that did nothing without a reason this irritated her. "couldn't tell you" she'd mutter lamely, piercing gaze fixed off into the distance. "maybe i got tired of the aimless wandering" she was suggesting it to herself as much as to him but honestly, she just did not know. the words stung in her mind. her eyes drew back to he just as his found their way back to her but this time she met him head on with complete calmness- determination to not let him into her head as strong as ever.

Pools of luminiferous ice swept from the glow of the fireflies back to the unnamed woman's idyllic, cold features. In her eyes, there was corruption - a cloak of warmth, and a shade of empty frigility; those eyes, in some twisted world, reminded the beast distantly of his charcoal sister. Of his life before blackfeather, before the melonii, before moonspear, however short that time had been - usually these thoughts were buried deep into cursed earth, but, in a way he'd not anticipated, a little flood of memories returned to his pallid skull. Cassipeia, his mother, Sirius... was he dead? His father was.

The Silencer brushed them away. Despite all else, his ability at concealing any mortal emotions was impeccable - another honed skill that this soldier challenged, with the eyes that masked all. Shivers of wind would stroke frigid spines, rattle the bones of dead trees, but Aries remained stoic. Unchanged. Whoever his family had been, he was among the worthy now; his loyalties had been pledged, and the midnight consort of the clan was who had raised him, in blackfeather's gory depths.

Tundra's words, ironically, slotted neatly into his own ideals. The starborn wraith was both a guard to the night and a king of the dead - he would not travel from the teekon's kingdoms, he would conjure his own plans deep within the cracks of his iron chest, where none could see until his grasp was limitless. Insatiable. "I would have too." an odd, almost welcome statement, but void of warmth; his baritones were permanently steeped in ice, as low and gruff as the rumbling of thunderclouds, which brewed in a cobalt sky.

She met his gaze.

It stirred the beast, but nothing was visible in the emptiness of his expression. Nefarious rivulets might whisper in the very depths of his watching stare, but he did not flinch. Only observed, allowed the sounds to soak into his silvery ears, anticipated; the skeletal king knew she was resisting, and wondered for the thousandth time just how long it would be before she rose up to slit his throat, or fall prey to his jaws - or, on the contrary, present something new to the table. Unpredictable. Something he had not considered. As if to offer her a taste, Aries considered casting his name to her hands - not his full name, for titles bore more power than many cared to acknowledge, but simply a snatch. After those soundless moments of simply watching, feeling the anticipation thrum in his veins, his blackened lips parted again.

"Do you have a name, or will I just refer to you as the woman from the woods?"
If I cannot bend Heaven,
I will raise Hell.

the skin would prickle behind her ear, the sensation ticklish and causing her to instinctively give her head the slightest of shakes- ear twitching to dislodge the whatever could be the cause. and although such a progress commenced to deal with this small little issue it was in reality the smallest of movements and done with no brain power whatsoever- instinct simply taking over to do its thing. because honestly, tundra's eyes had been focused on the unnamed man the entire time, a tickled ear did nothing to distract her. yet out of the corner of her eye she'd spot one of the glowing bugs departing from where it must've perched atop her head and for this she'd allow her attention to divert itself as she'd watch it return to its....friends? did bugs even actually feel anything? they seemed so...struggling to find a word she'd simply put it down to the way that plants did live in some strange way- they grew like themselves but weren't exactly alive. bugs seemed similar to that but obviously a bit more advanced, like they moved around n shit- plants tended not to do that.

but perhaps it was just a superiority thing, did they really have any more rights than these little glowing creatures? were they not all just infinitesimal in their own right, to a bug its life could be as important and full of meaning to it as hers was to she. frowning lightly a mental shake would take place- she tended to go off on a tangent like that much too often.

nevertheless her company seemed to perhaps have fallen prey to his mind too although it was an unsurprisingly difficult thing to confirm as orbs as icy as they were- were as hollow as a starless night sky beyond their sharp defences. quite unlike his pelt which she could compare to a more star scattered sky for although she simply referred to him as being dark in colour- should she allow herself to observe him more which of course had been happening in the back of her mind the whole time she'd just cared not to admit it- the dark cloak that covered him so nicely was in fact broken by dustings of silver. she'd blink- feeling oddly ashamed by her thoughts as if it was wrong to appreciate that there was in fact a rugged beauty to him. but one could appreciate the look of something without it meaning anything so why did she feel like she was betraying herself by admitting such a thing?

he spoke- deep tones laden with ice sneaking deep into her ears and yet his words were of simple agreement. it hadn't been what she'd expected although really she didn't know enough about him to have a solid idea as to what was to be expected. nevertheless dark eyes would simply press against his icy orbs- such a stark contract colour wise but couldn't be more similar in their guarded demeanor. except perhaps that her gaze when appearing more hazel in colour could give off a false sense of gentleness whilst his appeared ready to pierce you from the start.

no words left her jaws but there was a sharper intensity with which she observed him and although her eyes remained as void as ever they were no longer so narrowed- no she watched him through a quite wide and circular gaze. in truth she actually had rather large, captivating eyes but they were almost always narrowed for one reason or another. she came now to wonder did the man actually feel anything now under this perhaps protective layer or nothing, had something caused him to learn to lock away emotion as it were the true enemy? or had he always been like that? had anyone always been like that?

this would have her think of herself now, never had she considered her lack of emotion to be a loss. it had always been a strength, an advantage but the corrupted relationship she had with her feelings now left her wondering would she ever be able to find them again? would they forever be lost to some depth she could not reach- only experiencing the briefest fleeting feelings of raw, intense emotion that would simply be followed by hollow unease. yet the smallest memory of intense pain sounded somewhere far off and she'd inhale sharply- for once not caring if he noticed for it had been not him that caused the reflex. it simply reminded her as to why it was better to appreciate the lack of emotion flowing through her veins.

he'd speak once more and her dark eyes would refocus upon his features. siding her little inhale- nothing else had cracked the aloof look she maintained so well and it remained even stronger now. she'd permit a wry smile to crawl across her jaw as she'd murmur back in soft tones. "oh i don't know i think 'the woman from the woods' suits quite well don't you?" however upon watching him for a few more moments the smile would fade and her head would tilt slightly to the side. "tundra" the word would escape on her soft exhale- such a simple word but to them perhaps a rather big gesture. she'd say nothing else but her gaze expressed what words didn't need to; 'so are you going to offer up or leave me hanging?'

As he waited for words to slip off her tongue, perhaps gifting him falsities, fabrication born of mendacity, he studied once more the frigid demeanor of this pale creature. It would be a lie to claim she held no beauty - for she did, in a terribly cold, shackled way. Pale khaki wrapped itself in blankets around her figure; in the light of the fireflies, it shimmered a golden ecru: she was a pearl, placed so delicately in front of him, but guarded with the sharpest of thorns. A steel wall of defense, just like his own. Untouchable...

...but at last her charcoal lips parted. To the warmth in her tone, one single smoky brow twitched, observing every flicker of her movements - it was not because he anticipated any sort of danger, not yet, not here, not now (despite his consistent awareness), but he was almost surprised by the lack of polar droplets that leaked from her throat. No glacial burn of sharp words, though he supposed she had not met him with ice when they first set eyes upon one another. Then came her response, at last, and he found it slipped into the night flawlessly:

Tundra.

The harshest winter, consumed in a mirage of beauty - except this woman's appearance was no mirage, and he buried this trinket of knowledge deep within the crevices of his concealed mind. Though the silencer was not known for his reliability in the event of a stranger's encounter, this time, he would keep his word. A name for a name; the deal was struck.

"Aries." it slithered into the wind, whisked away by the luminescent fireflies, creeping into the air as a shadow would crawl behind the warped figure of a hellish demon. And yet, there was little malice in his tone, simply a hoarse, low grumble of his eternal frost. This was the hiemal king, ruler of the dead, and where he stood all would shiver - but one, perhaps, could rise up to meet this impenetrable force. She stood now before him. Only the ticking of a silent clock lay between them, each hand shifting with a sudden lurch to match the darting of glowing insects, marking the seconds as silence ensued.

What now?
If I cannot bend Heaven,
I will raise Hell.

her heart continued its delicate flutter behind an ironclad breast, safe to behave in such a manner with the knowledge of the protection its vessel grants. but maybe it overestimates her strength, because she's cracking and no longer feels such a strong desire to fight it. deep down...deep down she wants to fucking shatter. her lungs expand to allow for a deep, steadying inhale as she seeks the coolness of the night air to keep her steady despite feeling like a wildfire had been lit within and now ran rampage through her- leaving behind it a trail of beautiful destruction.

he intrigued her on so many levels, dark eyes never ceasing their restless search of his face. there had to be something more there...he was not the metal man he perhaps thought himself to be. for she was alive wasn't she, and he hadn't tried to force himself on her either and not to sound cocky or anything but it wasn't a lack of wanting, no, she'd felt him as much as she'd felt herself during their previous encounter. so she would continue to wait, play the game of patience until something would be presented to her because she knew it would- there was something there and she craved its release no matter what the consequences would hold.

he offered her no thanks for the offering up of her name, not that she'd ever expected as much but she'd wish more than anything to know what went on within his mind as those shards of ice never left her form. burning her where they landed as if they too were fire, draped in false cool toned safety. they wouldn't extinguish her fire, no they wanted to feed it, feed it until it burnt them both down. she swallows, surprised to find her mouth as dry as a barren desert and a dull spark of anger would flare up at her body's own betrayal. how dare it strip her mouth of its moisture for this.

but then he spoke, voice both sounding as if it were locked away somewhere deep in the pits of an icy hell yet also as smooth as a spring river bubbling seamlessly across a pebbled bed. "aries.." she echos back, letting the name roll from her tongue. it's not one she's heard of before nor can she associate it with anything, it's simply that. it's him. that's all a name needs to be isn't it? her gaze grows distracted by the glowing bugs for a long few moments but when they finally find their way back to his as they always would- there's an expectant look to which he grants her with. with a slow blink she stands and walks steadily towards him but does not stop when reaching him in fact she simply veers very slightly to the side and moves to walk past him, letting her side run along his with each step as if they were enclosed in some tight tunnel and had no choice but no, there was a whole lotta empty space cradling her other side.

her gaze would shift down only once to examine how easily the dark and light strands came together- intertwining and reaching for each other as she stepped slowly along his side, never stopping until she lingered behind him, suddenly free to the night air once more and feeling strangely out of breath as if she'd just raced to the other side of the wilds. she doesn't turn, continuing to stand with her back to him and face the other direction but words now slip free from creamy jaws; "why did you leave blackfeather woods?" the pack no longer existed but, he'd left long before that. she wanted to know why. there were no niceties offered, no 'only if you want to say' because she knew well he wouldn't offer any back. there'd be no 'sorry im not comfortable discussing that', if he didn't want to tell her he simply wouldn't and so she merely waited- eyes fixed steadily in the direction that would be taken to reach the forest that had once been home to them both just never at the same time.

Somewhere deep in the cavities of his chest, a breath was drawn - sharp and slick, the cursed arrow to pierce through a glacial throat. It was with utter silence that he regarded her; this Tundra. While his arrogance provided a comfort in his feigned knowledge, the world had, undoubtedly, surprised him. This pale shield-maiden was an anomaly, and the internal instincts that drove his systems battled fathomlessly over the desire both to destroy or nurture this oddity in his thoughts.

Aries' gelid stare counted the luminiferous dots in her eyes, where the fireflies' glow was reflected in the pools of her iron gaze. What was it about this woman that startled him so, that drove his mind to a whirlwind, in all her solemn sincerity?

She spoke his name, and he discovered it to appear far more tempestuous from her lips, far more divine, in all its icy glory. He wanted to crush this beneath his foot, stamp it into the cavernous mouth of the earth where it would melt into oblivion, out of sight, out of mind - and yet, it was too sapid upon his tongue, that to release it felt a greater sin than to cherish it. This empyrean trophy. The Svartell did not doubt his abilities to take as he desired, but how could he achieve this, if what he desired, he could not comprehend? What did he want? Why from this woman?

Destroy it.

But it was then, amongst this rare inner-turmoil, that he felt the slither of her body so lightly against his own - a feather's touch, from a steel soldier; a single shiver threatened to prod at his spine like acapuncture needles, but he fought it, resisting too the urge to suck in a slice of air into his frosted jaws. In that moment, it was true - he felt her, perhaps more than he had ever felt anything in his entire existence. It was this untameable flame, ravenous in its hunger, inestimable in its reach. He felt it clamber through his stomach, his lungs, his throat, but then a muscle seemed to twitch invisibly upon his skull, forcing everything down into the pits of his bones where they should not see the light. It was a perilous risk, accepting her presence, but a snatch of him was tired of fighting, and wanted to simply release himself to the game, to test what, amongst it all, was within his grip.

Resist.

It was the question which allowed him to steady his pacing blood, to return as best he could to the coldness in his veins. How did she know of his time in blackfeather? Knowledge travelled, he supposed. He had never cared to mask it. The hiemal king turned this enquiry over in his thoughts like a fallen coin, contemplating in his sobriety before allowing a shimmer of himself to slip out of his jaws - an accident, almost. "To follow Nyx." Though partially he desired to leave his answer as this; clipped, short, just as he preferred, he found for once the silence unbearable. He could not trust himself. "When I left my family, she took me in. When she left the woods, I followed." That was all he could present her with, in a voice of smoke, all that she would recieve. Piece by piece.

"Perhaps one day I will return to blackfeather."
If I cannot bend Heaven,
I will raise Hell.

her gaze remained fixed stonily ahead, body rigid under his stare for she could now come to the conclusion that she most definitely did not need to see those shards of ice to know when they looked upon her, she could feel her skin prickle under each light touch of those daggers from behind. her mind had simply settled into a sluggish swirl, like thick murky water going down a slightly blocked drain. round and round, slowly but surely. any sensible thoughts that made an effort to form would simply get caught in the spiral and away they'd go, flushed down the drain. it would get to stage that she'd feel an odd relief just to feel herself swallow, as if nervous that her mind would rid itself of even the knowledge to perform such minute, daily operations.

her gaze would fall to the ground, studying her paws listlessly whilst settling to focus on the reassuring sounds of her own steady breath- the rhythm calmed her, despite the way his presence seemed to plague her mind like a sickness her body remained unaffected. it remained strong, all these nerves and muscles ready to act however she wished on her command, only her. in all reality if she decided to truly focus on her entire self she'd know that wasn't exactly a true statement, the body and the mind coexisted way too closely for that to ever work. their bond was much too strong, so yea maybe she chose to ignore the slight waver of these steady breaths or the way her heart bet so strongly against her chest her body coursed with excess adrenaline causing limbs to shudder at the slightest of movements. she would deny all of this because in turn that helped her mind, which stopped her body from just collapsing in on itself. or more, collapsing conveniently in his direction...

shut the fuck up

blunt claws press hard against the earth, puncturing it with the effort as cool eyes grow glacier with a slight narrow. memories, that's how she steels herself now. not letting the whole thing hit her, no that'd be fatal, but enough just to inflict the beginnings of pain. not enough to actually hurt her but enough to throw up her defences and distract them from the being behind her. her eyes shut briefly, lungs expanding as she inhaled deeply- grounding herself. she was here. she was alive. he was nothing.

yet then he speaks again, and her ears crane in his direction with an undeniable desire to bask in each deep rumble emitted from his chest. nyx...she expects that to be it but to her true surprise, there's more. why did he tell her that? she swallows hastily, suddenly not able to bear keeping her gaze away from him and spins in one fluent movement so that her small body now faces his much larger frame once more. large eyes search him for a few pressing moments, trying to fight the burning want to know more. feeding her that little bit did nothing more than tease her, like giving the tiniest of scraps to a starving loner. it would do them no good except remind them what they could have, but didn't. had something happened to leave him so detached like he was? had he been born that way? could you be born that way? she knew about psychopaths and sociopaths, wolves born without an understanding for empathy or emotion. the difference between the likes of her and him and wolves like that were, well in her case anyway- she'd felt it before, sure it'd been bet out of her to some degree but she knew what it meant. well, kind of? but then again, she didn't know him at all really. maybe it was all an act, she'd heard they were good at that.

return...? her jaws opened to inform him that the woods no longer stood but something held her back, she wasn't even sure but her jaws snapped shut once more and she didn't fight it. instead she simply echoed the word; "perhaps..." a small smile danced across her lips at that, pearly canines peeking out yet it appeared almost sad- or maybe that was just due to the odd contrast of what would usually be known to be a happy gesture alongside such barren eyes. "funny word isn't it" she'd add with an icy chuckle. with no explanation as to why this word proved so amusing to her, she'd let her gaze get one last look at that face before turning away- gods only knew how long before she'd see it again? but now was the time to go, while she still could. "perhaps i'll see you again, aries" she called back, letting the night breeze carry it towards him like a little messenger before departing with one last little snigger, a final "perhaps.." would be the last he'd hear of her for now before her pale form disappeared into the night- already feeling the tug of blackfeather as she let herself drift in its direction.
