@Damien

She had already met one wolf in this place and she was nice. Or at least she thought she was. Minnow could never really understand what the bigger ones said. Only word she knew was hungry.

When the other wolf wasn’t around or least when she thought she wasn’t. The little one had liked to explore the outskirts of the den but she had started to get bored.

When he was told that another pup would join his own children in the den Damien immediately thought of how things could go sour. Pups didn't come from nowhere and surely someone would be looking for this one. Besides, Damien hardly thought that they could handle an additional mouth properly, but in the end he couldn't deny himself the chance of molding a pure soul to his liking.

He came across the little one a silent day, and very much like her he was rather bored. So he took his chance to start the shaping process and observed from a little distance, trying to catch anything about her personality that would help him better direct his efforts.

One post from me, please skip.   :)

She was a little thing, dainty and fragile - far smaller than any of Venamis' siblings. She bore a pelt made of ash on beige, something that differed entirely from the platinum and obsidian shades he'd seen among his own pack-mates. She was different.

Venamis didn't like her kind of different, and he definitely didn't appreciate her having made her home within his.

As Minnow dared to venture around his family's hollow, sniffing and testing as she went, the spiderling glowered after her every movement. He rumbled pitiful little growls whenever she drew too close to something he was especially possessive of and the ebony fur along his dorsal lifted in offence should they happen to make eye contact, but he did not make attempt to bite her. The providers didn't seem to impressed with his outright rejection of this apparent new den-mate.

He was not alone in his observations, as the dark Sovereign eyed the strange youngster with interest. Venamis blinked up to study his father's features quietly before he shot the strange child one last bitter glance and made to slip from the burrow to join his brother outside.

sanguine, my brother

She noticed the other pup but the bigger wolves presence was unknown to the little pup. As quickly as the other appeared he disappeared. Minnow whined slightly but brushed it off, every now and then she wondered what happened to the other fluffy creatures she had grown accustomed to but they were gone and she was all alone.

His eyes were redirected to find Venamis stalking about, and he couldn't help noticing how abrasive his son had been at the contact made with the smaller foundling. But there was no action otherwise, and Damien found himself staring again at the girl as soon as his son saw himself out of the picture.

Minnow then went back to what she was doing; being bored out of her mind. No one was around nor were her siblings who at least kept her company. That’s when she noticed the darker wolf that seemed to be hiding; did he want to play?

Minnow trotted over and greeted with bark.

She came over, trotting airily as though Damien was the best of her friends ever, and greeted him with a yap. Unaccustomed to the way of child's play, Damien perhaps did not seem to react the way she was expecting. He approached her further and lowered his head to sniff around her, and a thought crossed his mind. What was he to do with such an innocent soul? He could most certainly mold it to his liking, and that had been the intention initially; but what purpose could it ever serve? He had his own kids to look after, and their success and well being was above anything and everything in his list of priorities. Could he spare the time and resources to bring up some heathen's child?

The big wolf seemed to be as curious about her as she was of him. He sniffed her and she couldn’t figure out why. “Roo” The little one tried to say hi.
