All Welcome

Her travels took her away from the Blackfeather Woods. The spirit did not know where she was headed precisely, but it did not matter. She had not yet found her darker counterpart yet, but their roads would reconvine at some point; of that much the spirit was certain. Light feet carried her through the snowforest taiga until she eventually reached plains surrounded by all manner of places; many mountainous areas.

It was round noon that the spirit reached it. Her stomach rumbled so when she saw a rabbit in the middle of the plains the spirit took off after it, focusing only on her prey as she dashed through the plains.

again being vague!

Everything still hurt.  She had known a bear would be a hard enemy to chase off, but it would take a while for her to heal completely.  Luckily she was still mobile... her pack plans would have really slid sideways were that not the case.

She was hunting on the plains and froze when she heard a commotion... but it was another wolf, chasing their prey.  She watched with interest, hunt forgotten.  She was absorbed in seeing how the chase went, and turned to follow, jogging enough so that they stayed in sight.

Katora had apparently traveled downwind and could smell her new Alpha and the other wolf that was hunting nearby.  Katora hadn't strayed far since she'd joined the new pack.  Just far enough to feed herself and contemplate her choice.  Indeed, she had stayed just far away enough to not bother her new Alpha who seemed to be gathering more wolves to her.  Katora didn't know if she'd be good at getting new recruits or not so she opted to not interfere.

The smells began moving further away.  She figured her Alpha would call her if needed, but she decided to follow anyway.  Perhaps she could help prevent something if she got closer.

The other wolves were completely lost on the ghostly yearling. She dashed through tall grasses, following every turn the rabbit took. She had always been fast and the spirit enjoyed a challenge like this. Just as the rabbit was about to dive into a hole at the bottom of a small hill the pale wolf's teeth found purchase and snapped the rabbit's hind legs. It started to squeal, a tempting invitation to simply play with it a bit longer.

In the end, she was hungry however and so decided to end the creature's life more swiftly, so that it might feed her. As she started to eat her chest and muzzle were covered in blood, staining the monotone white of her fur.

Just as Averna did not see them, Kiwi was oblivious to her new packmate also.  She watched with satisfaction as she made her kill and tore into it.  Both good signs of someone she may want to recruit.

As she looked, however, something sparked familiarity.  She'd seen this girl before, but it took her a moment to remember where.

Ghost girl, She finally said, loudly enough for the other to likely hear.  She didn't come in too close because she didn't want to compete over scraps... but she did want to talk, and a small smirk landed on her features.

As Katora neared, she smelled blood.  So she had gotten a kill.  Which one had gotten it wasn't apparent until Katora halted at the treeline, concealed behind some bushes.  It was the new wolf that had made the kill.  Katora's breath caught in her chest.  This new wolf's fur looked strikingly like a northern wolf but different.  The ghostly white played in the sun and Katora couldn't help but stare for a moment.

She shook her head as her Alpha came into the clearing and spoke.  Katora wanted to let her new pack leader know that she was there without the ghost figuring it out.  Katora circled away from her Alpha but stayed out of the line of vision of the new wolf.  She poked her head out of the bushes for the briefest flash of an instant but she hoped that had been enough of a moment for her own white fur to clash with the greenery around her.  Especially since she had made sure to stay downwind.

The spirit licked the blood off her lips and then took a few bites from the rabbit. Averna, they had called her in the Woods. She could take only a few bites before another presence made itself known. Averna looked at her and instantly recognised her as Powergirl. She was out of place here, but then again, so was Averna herself. She stood protectively over her food, although it was only subconsciously instinctive.

Powergirl, Averna greeted back, and she leaned down to take another bite from the rabbit.

Kiwi's ear flicked lazily as she spotted Katora, and she gave a small head tilt.  In any other instance, she appreciated the forethought.  Having her hidden behind would have given them the drop in this occasion, but Kiwi was not expecting trouble here.  She could come out if she wanted.

I'm starting my own pack, she opened, and looked casually for Averna's reaction.  My old home was taken and I want it back.

She thought about continuing, but her muzzle clicked shut and she waited.  It was a little too much to extend an invitation right off the bat, especially since she was only wanting the best.  Averna she felt would be good, but also, how much did she know about her?
