All Welcome
the young boy had spent his time with wraen, roaming the trees that scattered outside of her den and searching for stars overhead. the silver woman had been so kind to him that he was certain he would have to find a way to repay her. as small as he was, deku did what he could to offer his services. he even sang her a few of the songs that his mother had taught him – songs that caused his heart to tighten with a strange sense of loss.

on that day, he had roamed out of wraen’s den and into the shimmering sunlight. endless blue clouds smiled down on him, scattering rays of warmth across the earth and dappling the leaves overhead. deku’s tail flagged gently behind him. he had assumed that his temporary caretaker was rather busy with pack duties, so he found a comfortable place and plopped himself down. once in a comfortable position, the starchaser began to conjure stories in his mind.

Avery hummed to herself as she roamed away from the rendezvous site. She didn't plan to go far -- she was too well-behaved to take off on some misadventure on her own -- but at three months of age, she and her siblings had earned a bit more independence and freedom. While she still tended to be a bit timid when outside of her comfort zone, she was fairly confident traversing a limited portion of the copse; and her boundaries expanded day by day, as did her aplomb.

The summer sun was warm overhead, and the pleasant weather encouraged her to go a little further than she had before. A careful glance was thrown over her shoulder every few paces, but still she kept going. It was only when she happened upon an unfamiliar figure that she froze; her blue eyes rounded as she paused in her step, one forepaw suspended as she stared at the black-and-white figure of a puppy who was not a brother, sister, or cousin of hers. So who was he? "H-hi," she greeted cautiously.
