she managed to lay her fangs into a squirrel; her prize sways from her muzzle as the girl moves through the wood, seeking some place to better settle down with her meal. it's early morning, and the sun has yet to become anything besides a thin glow on the horizon. fog sits heavy on the horizon, and the entire morning is filled with a kind of reverent stillness. spotting a small open glade like the one she'd set claim too, she settles on her stomach and traps the rear of the squirrel under a forepaw, making quick work of the meal.

He stalked her. After the fire died away burned out by the fight with Astara he had begun to keep watch over her, stalking in the distance. This girl that he had saved who had come in and so casually accepted his Mentor's challenge while it felt like he was being punished. When he saw her take down a squirrel, a sort of impressed feeling hit him and it reignited the fire. He did not like her, it didn't matter how lethal she was to squirrels!

A growl left his maw and he slid from the shadows tail curling over his spine as he locked his eyes upon her, slowly coming toward her and then when close making a swift dive for her squirrel in the intent to snatch it away and if successful, hold it away from her as a very age appropriate sneer curved his lips.

his slow approach gave Hela more than enough time to scarf down her mouthful and reenforce her grip on the squirrel. when he charged, so did she; lunging forward to aim a sharp nip at the soft skin of his muzzle. squirrel lay half-forgotten now, as she drew back slightly before moving forward again, slicking back her ears as slunk low in an attempt to gain hold under her muzzle or along his throat, hoping to grab hold until he conceded.

The sharp rebuttal of her teeth upon his muzzle drew him up short and with a sharp growl he had gone back in to attack only to have her wrap her teeth around the still loose skin of his neck. He gasped and froze intimidated and out of his element. He shook and tried to snap at her flesh in return to jostle her off and failed to do any harm and so he simply stood still. He did not cower, he did not roll over he just trembled with contained rage and seethed "Let go of me you wretch" his words burned with the promise of violence to come if she did not as he calculated the positions of their bodies and figured out a method of freeing himself he could attempt if she did not.

he writhed, and snapped, but once she held her grip Hela would be hard-pressed to let it go. as soon as he stood still she moved in turn, shoving her weight forward and wrenching her muzzle to the side in an attempt to shove him over, dragging him by the neck while simultaneously shoving her weight into him at a rough angle. she did not speak nor growl, utterly silent in her single-minded determination.

He floundered and she just moved in, laying him down so smoothly it was like he weighed nothing to her. Like he was nothing but a pelt she was using to lay a bed. He choked on the force of his growl as he fell over only having the time to fight back by showing his own sheer will and placing his forelegs out to hold her just off him enough for him to breathe. He panted softly and began to writhe violently his eyes tearing up with frustration "Get off of me you b...buttface!" he snarled desperately and vehemently all at once.

arrogant pride fills her, and she half-tightens her grip before releasing it, seeking a stronger hold than the one he seemed to be wriggling out of. but the grip she nabs is more fragile than the last, and rapidly, her attempts to pin him seem to be failing. struggling now, she attempts to place all her weight on him in a bid to keep him down.

He wriggled and felt her grip slacken bit by bit. He snarled and grunted as he thrashed around, legs coming up underneath him and giving him the boost he needed to escape. He blinked back the angry tears in his eyes and backed off snarling at her "I won't lose like that again"  he panted softly and then turned beginning to hurry off his tail curling just a bit between his legs.

satisfied with her victory, she grins, turning to her left automatically to share the moment with Scylla. when she sees only empty space, her grin fades fast, and she's left entirely alone. she stands there a moment longer, various new cuts and bruises throbbing. when Valour's footsteps fade entirely, she returns to the mangled squirrel, the victory suddenly hollow.
