wide eyes, glazed and fixed on something in the distance. occasional twitches of her flank, out of sync with the discordant rasp of her breath. "you abandoned him." writ across his face is disappointment, and somehow that is more terrifying than the water and blood that stream from him, the violent wounds cut across his pelt, the empty eyes. "you failed him." notrealnotreal. she's trembling, burning, and yet cold to the touch.
"get up." she says it aloud, mumbled under her breath as anger throbs along her spine. the girl strains, burns, and can only manage to shift away from the oak she huddles below. eyes blink closed, and she focuses again on the unruliness of her breath, drifting again into blurred sleep.
