@Black Hat , @Tzila - takes place on 14th October, concurrently with the BWP thread.

The situation had escalated from being crowded and annoying, to very dangerous and life-threatening in a matter of seconds. First thing she realized, that there was no chance for a peaceful outcome. You knew true sportsmen, when you met them - those two kill-buddies reeked of blood-lust and excitement. They did not care for diplomacy, if they could gut you alive now.

It left the next rational option - running away. Which was impeded at the moment - the water behind her was deep and ice-cold, she would freeze and drown not even realizing it. On the shallower side there were her two attackers. It did not matter, which direction she decided to flee, her pace would be slow and they would attack and kill her anyway.

Which left option three - fighting her way through and getting to safety with as many intact limbs as possible. In reality, Sarah did not the luxury to think all these options through in detail. Her mind jumped from "danger" to "defense" instantly. Black hat failed missed his initial target, but his jaws made contact with her scruff and with Tzila's added blow, all three fell in the water. Thus giving everyone a chance to continue fight on equal grounds again.

The overcast woman had quick instincts, but their close proximity didn't give her enough time to completely avoid his oncoming teeth. Black Hat managed to grab onto her scruff, which was satisfactory, especially with his partner in tow. However, the force led their battle into the frigid lake water. The icy sting chilled him to his bones, but he didn't have the luxury of worrying about that right now.

Instead, his mind was inspired by the setting. He schemed of drowning this wolfess to turn her into a refrigerated meal just like the moose they now clashed over. Keeping his grip firm, he draped a foreleg over the woman's shoulders to then try and force her head down into the icy depths with his body weight. Try as she may to dislodge him, none of her snaps hit their mark. Sadistic murderous intent gleamed darkly in his stark white eye as he foresaw only success in his endeavor.

Sorry for the hold up! If anything needs to be changed, lemme know. <3

Fortunately for her, the snapping jaws of the charcoal she wolf merely grazed the hairs of her scruff. Her quick footing and nimble pivots were enough to keep her just out of harms way. Though, returning home with a few battle scars would hardly be bothersome. With Black Hat at her side to double team, Tzila's confidence sky rocketed. One single wolf against two was not favorable odds.

Jaws agape, teeth lined with strings of saliva, she barreled forward while Black Hat took care of their victim's front end. She aimed a tactical strike at her hips; specifically at her spine. If she hit her mark, she'd clamp down hard until she heard the satisfying crunch of bone.

Well... this had escalated quickly. One moment Sarah was attacking the next, she was pinned down and her head was held firmly in the water. She avoided choking on water on the first stance, but then her paws sank in the soft mud underneath and her nose and mouth were submerged in the water. The cold water burned her nasal passages and throat and, when it hit it's trachea, she began to cough wildly and intensified her struggle against the grip.

It took, what felt like forever, before she felt slipping from the Black Hat's grip and back-pedalled quickly, thus avoiding her lumbar spine being crushed. She had not escaped injuries though - the loose fur on her scruff hurt and her back bore teeth marks, where Tzila's jaws had made contact.

She pulled herself to her feet again and after ridding of coughing spell, she blindly charged forward in an attempt to attack, tear and hit, do whatever it took to break past the two.

Since in the future threads I refer to Sarah's injuries, I took a liberty to add some here as well.

Though fully confident in his ability to take the woman on himself, the backup was appreciated. She coughed and sputtered as the water seeped into her lungs, to his twisted delight. But the slippery mud beneath them did not work in his favor, as he nearly lost his footing from her struggling. Left with no other option, he released her, and she backed up. Now was as good an opportunity as she'd get to flee, but the woman charged right back at them, teeth gleaming from spittle. Idiot.

Black Hat leapt aside, but her fangs grazed his shoulder. Small beads of blood surfaced, but it was but a scratch. She was unable to grab him, so he lunged with jaws aimed just below her jaw. If successful, he would thrash and tear her throat to pieces.

Beads of coppery blood seeped beneath her fangs, tickling her tongue. The satisfaction was all too short lived for Tzila to bask in it fully. The woman was frantic, desperate to get away. She whirled and bucked wildly beneath the duo of Nightwalkers, regaining her proper footing. A flurry of blindly snapping jaws clipped the delicate flesh of her cheek, creating a small, shallow wound. Tzila hissed nonetheless, muzzle wrinkling in newfound fury.

Sarah would not escape this. She would see to that herself. Enthralled with the thrill of battle, she backpedaled, swinging her torso away to make room for Black Hat's next assault. The second after he lunged for the base of the throat, Tzila pounced. Her aim was direct, towards the base of the skull where the spine connected. If she hit her mark this time, she'd toss her head violently, ripping fur from skin.

Sarah was born under a lucky star. She pulled her head close to her neck, guarding throat and jugulars and crouched just in time to avoid Black Hat's deadly attack. She felt his sharp teeth graze against her temples and the impact of the bite that had not landed on her throat, tore at the base of her left ear.

The she-wolf roared in pain and snapped at the side of the other's face, but this attack was cut short, when Tzila's weight pushed her head once again in the water and the teeth tore into the skin of her neck. Once again, coughing and sputtering, Sarah fought against the violent force, not wishing to die by drowning, not wishing to die at all. She eventually yanked herself free from the grasp, which left an open, ragged wound on her scruff, and turned abruptly to land a bite on the closest limb that was to her.

Then Sarah managed to scramble to her feet and find another way through both of her attackers again. If this failed as well, she would be forced to swim to the other shore with chances of hypothermia along the way.

Dissatisfyingly, his teeth sank into an ear instead of a throat. Still, the woman snarled ferociously with rage. When Tzila barreled into her, Black Hat let go, content to let her take over with her far more successful attack. The woman-turned-beast flailed out of Tzila's grasp, once again narrowly avoiding being drowned. She snapped at one of his forelegs, but he lifted it out of reach. Then, he slammed it down to, once again, try and drown her. He'd press down onto her skull with all of his weight, holding her head under the frigid water. Even if she didn't drown, hypothermia would soon set in.

She was growing impatient. Despite their combined efforts to drown this wolf to death, she kept on fighting. Anyone in their right mind would do so as well. Tzila wanted to end this now, and quickly. As Sarah shook her free and whirled around to barrel past them, knocking against her flank, leaving her winded for a split second. In days to come, her ribs would be sure, but that was hardly on her mind at the moment.

Wet and fueled by adrenaline, as Black Hat again went to force the female's head beneath the water, Tzila went in for a killing blow. She was done playing around. Her lips peeled back, pearly teeth aiming directly for the exposed side of her neck. Her target was the jugular vein, buried beneath muscle and flesh. She'd bite down hard if her aim was correct, and hope to bleed the wolf out in seconds.

As the fight dragged on and Sarah had made no progress of either harming her two attackers or run away, she began to grown tired and annoyed. What the hell had she ever done to these two to deserve this kind of treatment? She did not find any ready answer to her question, because the combined effort of Tzila and Black Hat pressed her underwater again and she swallowed a great deal of water. It burned her airways and made panic resurge again, she fought against the two once again and in the back of her mind she knew that there were no chances she was going to have enough strength to survive another such assault.

Therefore - once free from both, she attempted to escape once again. Sarah was done fighting.

Do both of you have enough posts to qualify for mercenary trade? If yes - we can fade it here, if not - we can post, until we reach that number of posts.

Permission to break post order given by Sparx.

Her grip slipped free and she was thrown aside into the shallow water, while Sarah thrashed, desperate for escape. Save for just a small cut on her cheek and a few bruised ribs, Tzila had come out of this fight no worse for wear. As Sarah tore away from Black Hat and made one last dash for freedom, she leapt to her paws.

She bounded after the retreating form of the female, jaws snapping with the promise of rendering more flesh. Scarlet hackles bristled, tail upright triumphantly. There was little point in pursuing her any further. Together she and Black Hat had drove her away from the carcass and made their point. If she was lucky, she would survive with the injuries she sustained. If not, then a weakling like her would be culled. Huffing, Tzila turned away to reunite with the band who rightfully laid claim to the moose.
