Night of November 8th
West corner of the Pit
Open to up to 2 NW wolves! I don't want him getting mobbed.

The days had ticked on by and with the aid of the dark wolves' treatments on his hind leg, it was nearly complete with its mending. It ached a bit when the cold began to settle in around him, but for the most part he could use it. It held his weight adequately; Revui had made sure to work it when nobody was watching them so that it could be of use, although the muscle had begun to wither regardless of effort. It did not help that there as a famine. Even the scraps that the pit wolves were granted came infrequently now.

The night descended earlier and earlier, which was a good sign for Revui. The sky was clear, the stars making themselves known as the hour progressed. It was actually the middle of the afternoon but it was hard to tell, with darkness falling as early as four or five PM (but go figure, wolves don't have clocks so who cares about that). What this meant was, Revui was primed for his escape. He was as energized as he'd ever been — intrigued by the quiet outside of the pit, the lack of evident scents.

He roused himself carefully, as quietly as he could. @Orochi was roosting beneath the overhang with a scrap of something - maybe a bone - and Revui gave the boy a cursory glance as he made his way towards the western sloping side of the pit. The plan had been to train the boy and then help him to escape; however, Revui was feeling especially confident with his improved health, so he thought to make his move. He waited and watched for signs of their captors and when the coast felt clear, he lunged for the ledge.

Revui was a massive creature - he always had been - and even though he was almost back to top condition his leg wasn't ready to bare the weight of his body. He sagged to one side, off-kilter for a second. His shoulder brushed the wall of the pit and he almost lost his footing entirely, but stabilized at the last second while the dust spread around him, the soil loosened by his scrambling. He tried again without pause and managed to break chunks of dirt from the wall, forming a messy series of smaller ledges he might've managed to climb if he was smaller — but when the dust did settle, he glanced from the mess he'd made and then back to the boy.

With a grunt he tried to garner the kid's attention. If they moved fast then maybe

Here he is to be a dick!

To say he was bored was an understatement. He had finally managed to feed himself, one time defeating a grown wolf for some bone marrow and the other working together to catch a rabbit. Now that his belly was full and he had energy, he wanted to do something and had began traipsing around the territory to see what everyone was up to. It was the sound of dirt crumbling and falling as he neared the pit that gathered his attention and he headed that way wondering if the earth collapsed and buried their captives. He was disappointed to see that it hadnt but one of them was trying to escape. For a moment he hung back, not getting close to the edge of the pit but simply watching intrigued. He was content to not do anything yet and hid himself best he could, waiting to see what Orochi and Revui would do once out.

He will be making himself known but for now he isnt visible

Excitement sat in the pit of his stomachs for the days leading up to this moment. After weeks of fruitless escape attempts, verbal and physical conflict, sudden drops in confidence, things were finally beginning to look up. When the captives trained he put his absolute all into it. His ankle didn't take kindly to it, but Orochi could care less. It would all be worth it in the long run.

When darkness draped over the earth the dragon was wide awake. The pit would have been silent if not for the gnashing of teeth against bone. Normally the boy didn't go as far as to consume the bones of his scraps, but food was getting scarce and he was growing hungrier by the day. It wasn't just the threat of starvation that drove him to do this. Sooner or later the captives of Nightwalkers would flee and he would need all his strength when the time came. When they escaped his job was to race to Moonspear, Revui's supposed home. Everyone knows you can't run on an empty stomach.

Speak of the devil. His cell mate suddenly rose from his place and the two exchanged a quick glance. Orochi's heart began to beat like a thousand drums. He sprung up and watched the silver leap towards the edge, cringed at the stumble, and smiled when he made it to the surface. It was time to escape. Freedom was just around the corner.

Orochi wasted no time. He leaped onto the makeshift ledges (his ankle heated more and more with each jump) and took his place at Revui's side. There was a new determined fire in his eye.

The tremors settled and she had felt nothing as of late so when she heard the sounds of shuffling dirt. Her ears pricked up with interest and swiveled towards the where the sound had originated from. With a small groan she arose from the ground from which she rested on and set out to see what was happening.

When the dark woman arrived she saw the the prisoner had be trying to escape and she let out a defensive snarl and the hairs along her neck stood up as she went forward. "I suggest you put an end to whatever the hell you are doing." She growled as she creeps towards the both of them hackles raised hoping to back them into the pit.

There wasn't much time; he gave the boy his silent signal, and waited while he trundled over and began to climb out. He was much more fluid with his escape - but there was a way carved in to the dirt now. While Orochi scrambled for the surface Revui kept his wits sharp; his hackles were raised, the serration along his spine giving him the look of a hungry shark. A part of him wanted to be caught out in the open just so he could sink his teeth in to some warm meat — but he knew they would have a better chance at escaping if they were left alone, and moved fast.

As he herded the boy away from the edge he stopped, the stench of the medicine woman swarming the air; she had an herbal undertone to her natural scent which he had come to expect from time to time, but this was not one of those moments. As far as Revui could tell she would be off sleeping (or maybe trying in vain to restore her collection of plants before they all died). When she emerged from the forest's darkness it came as a shock to Revui, but he lowered his head and assumed a defensive posture almost immediately.

He stepped forward defiantly - in part to shield Orochi from Serem - and let a low rumble sound in the back of his throat, almost cancelling out what the woman was saying. He didn't care for her words either way; there would be resistance, he had expected it, yearned for it. And now she was here trying to stop them. But what could she do? She was one wolf, and even against two injured creatures such as himself and the boy there was a higher chance they could destroy her.

Revui's tail whisked; another signal meant for the boy. He didn't speak, and instead lunged straight for Serem's path, eager to sink his teeth in to her — it was the moment they'd waited for and now everything was up to Orochi.

He was glad he had waited, for Serem arrived and apprehended them just seconds after Orochi got out. His gaze was on the boy, the one he had helped imprison and shown that he could fight. His eyes narrowed and he growled, giving himself away and stalking from the bushes toward them. He paused as Uyo lunged for Serem, hesitating and considering helping her. His ears flicked back and he turned toward Orochi, fangs bared as he decided it best to leave that fight alone and take out the one he would have a better chance at whooping. "Who's the coward now? Trying to run away without even attempting to fight? That's pathetic" he snarled and charged at Orochi, jaws parted as he made to grab the boy by the side of the neck.

permission to powerplay

As soon as stepped out of his prison a pungent aroma surrounded them. It was hard to pinpoint who exactly it belonged to, all these beast smelled the same to him. There was no need to decipher who it was, she made herself known swiftly. Out came the shadow's pawn, bristling and spitting a threats. For a brief second he was fearful. They had just bursted out of the horrid pit and now they were being backed into it again. No- he quietly hissed before Revui stepped in front of him with a growl of his own. Right, they were one step closer to freedom. They just needed to rid of the inky woman that stood in their path. This was it, the moment Revui had promised. These Nightwalkers would pay for what they had done. Blood rushes through his body and a toothy smile spread from cheek to cheek. His companion lunged for the woman and he leaned back to do the same.

But something stopped him. An all too familiar figure emerged from the darkness. He was snarling, he was taunting, and he leaped with jaws agape. No time to react! Again! Orochi's legs buckled beneath him as the boy latched onto his nape.

Warm tears coated his eyes. Not again, not again! This was his moment, his time to shine. This damn kid always had to ruin everything! Get... off... No. Not today. He would escape from this hell and Valour would not stop him. Get. OFF! Without a moment wasted, Orochi tore himself from the whelp's grasp and slithered out from underneath him. He took Valour by the scruff and shoved him backwards inch by inch, closer and closer to the pit. The two now stood dangerously over the edge. Oh what he'd give to see the look on his enemies face right now. Was it fear, anger,  frustration? He hoped it was a mix of them all. He wanted this boy to feel what he felt over these long weeks.  And that was why he ultimately shoved him over that edge.

There was only words exchanged by the two pups and Serem paid no mind to the young ones at that moment and eyes the male as he seems to cover the pup. She chuckled in the back of her mind before he lunged at her.

She luckily was prepared for this and attempted to quickly get out the the way but his teeth successfully connected with her shoulder and she gave a short Yelp in pain. Without any hesitation she backed up from him once he let go and she aims her teeth at his throat or muzzle.

Even weathered as he is by days of slim trimmings and the occasional moment of torture, Revui knows how to act in this moment. He has been trained for this: for combat, bloodshed. His desire to inflict damage and to taste the blood of his captors fuels him. He has been taught by the Cerberus themselves — he carries the blood of warriors inside of him, and he will not falter. His confidence could have been his undoing (and perhaps one day it will be) but he does not fail here, where it counts.

The next few moments blur. He is lunging for her, she is trying to evade or counter — anticipatory footwork keeps him in line with her body, and his teeth pierce the flesh he so covets. His mouth floods with mercurial blood. He withdraws just as swiftly, his momentum carrying him through Serem (or at least the spot where she had been standing) and he hears her erupt with the sounds of pain. Music to his ears — and she's trying to fight around that pain, lunging for him in return. He spits fur from between his teeth in a glob of red and his teeth, slick with her blood, shine malevolently as she veers for his neck; but this is the most precious of spots and his body naturally curves in defense against her attempt.

She collides with him; Revui having pivoted so that she half misses. He feels teeth graze the side of his head and the burn of pain at the base of one ear where she's managed to briefly clip him with teeth, and with a roar he falls upon her — a hungry beast, starving — unable to stop the flood of endorphins and adrenaline caused by this violent coupling, but equally unable to stop the growling of his stomach and the ravenous look upon his face. If she does not escape from him now, she will die and he will make good use of what meat she carries.

It was over in seconds. With a whirl Orochi had changed the positions and whipped him off balance, shoving him backwards as his paws slipped. He had lost much weight and had little honed strength to push back, thrashing and glancing over Orochi's shoulder to watch Serem be attacked Savagely. He gasped as he felt his hind paws slide into air, dropping as he watched the savage attack of Uyo and Orochi staring above. A rage filled him, one that shook him hard because he had failed to be there to fight with a packmate. He twisted suddenly and struck his head against the ground with a sickening smack, blanking out harshly without a single sound.

he's out for the count!

His heart drumed in his throat as he felt the boy dip into the depths of hell, as he watched his body fall down down down. And for a moment he felt proud. Ha! he thought, take that Nightwalker scum! That will teach you to mess with me. Those taunts would have left his mouth if not for the sickening—

crack!

That sound rang in his skull. The words died in Orochi’s throat, his pride now thrown to the wayside. He stared down at the body in horror. This scene was all too familiar.

Damnit... damnitdamnit! Why has dread come to crush him so? This boy had been a thorn in his side ever since the beginning. He deserved this. He deserved this pain. He deserved to feel the dragon's teeth, he deserved to be thrown into hell. Was he not worthy of a busted crown? Maybe so... Orochi wasn't so sure anymore. He just didn't want to look at it anymore.

And so he whipped around towards Revui and the herbalist. The woman was secured between the hungry beast's jaws. The boy was at a loss for what to do. He knew he had to run, that was his job. Even if it wasn't a part of him wanted to. He wished to forget about what he had just done. But he just couldn't bring himself to do so. That will to fight still burned bright and maybe punishing this woman would allow him to forget about Valour. Besides, he didn't want to leave Revui— his mentor as well as the only company he had during this harsh month— alone in this prison. They would escape together. He lundged for Serem's side with jaws agape.

He was healing. The process was slow but the man was able to walk still. Knee stiff, sore, but not utterly useless. With Serem's help, he should make a full recovery before winter's full harsh breath rakes the lands with frost. While wandering the misty woods he exercised the limb, to keep it limber as instructed rather than avoiding to use it, to keep it from growing stiffer by the day.

It was during his walk that the sound of a scuffle caught his attention. Tall ears twisting in the direction of only what he knew to be "the pit". Where the captives were held, and everything clicked. It was only about time that they too would heal, to become strong enough to haul themselves out - someone must have obstructed their freedom. Cornering a desperate beast and unleashing an unholy hell from someone who only simply wanted to taste freedom once more.

With a rushed pace he entered the fray. Serem herself was the one who stood in their way, the young Valour took to her side against the child. The adult of the two (he didn't learn their names lmfao) had her in his grasp, a ravenous look in his eye one that was familiar to the behemoth. Despite his healing wound, Vengeance entered. Jaws aimed to clasp around any part of the once captive, preferably the neck to use the element of surprise to his advantage. That similar advantage that the sea witch had on him just a while ago.

The pup who was aiding his fellow prisoner would be ignored, for now. For now, he would focus on freeing Serem, to get her free from the deadly jaws of her assailant.

Everything was a blur of red. The air was thick with the scent of blood, his mouth full with the taste of it, and in his ravenous rage there was nothing that could stop the beast from seeking that which he desired; nothing, he thought, until a dark shape appeared behind the combatants. The shape abruptly inserted itself in to the fray and with one well placed snap of teeth against a weak point Revui had let slacken, the boy was corralled.

Those teeth pinched in to his neck and he roared, spinning against the new force that rose against him, forgetting (temporarily) about the woman and how delicious her meat would taste; he turned, his body trying to pull free of the grip that this newcomer had on his precious neck. The weight of the blow was staggering and Revui had to brace against the earth—then strain against the presence of his attacker—lest he lose balance and go rolling back in to the pit again.

The boy was snapping his own teeth the whole while, froth at the corners of his lips. Pink spittle flying in the air between his gnashing teeth in a frenzy as he tried to bite and tear and kill whatever, whoever had stopped him in his effort to kill the woman; at this precise angle he could not see who it was save for the swarthy fur he occasionally grasped between his teeth or the strong scent of Nightwalker that overwhelmed even the scent of blood.

This was the scent of the land; the one constant between each beast who visited the pit and harassed the captives. It was the mark of this wolf that they carried, his banner they flew, his law they followed—and with a roar Revui snapped ferociously at the air, trying to grab on to some piece of this alpha. It would not come to pass, however; the hold that Vengeance had upon him was cutting off air and blood flow, so even if Revui protested enough and fought hard, he would not manage much.

Orochi didn't have the chance to sink his teeth into the medic. A large form barreled towards the escapees and the boy was forced to jump back to avoid impact. Wind rushed passed him, sliced the tips of his fur. It warranted a shocked gasp. It took him a moment to come to his senses but when he did he saw his mentor clasped in the jaws of that beast.

Something caught in his throat and made his chest clench up. Unfathomable rage set his heart alight. This man had once again caused another to crumple beneath him without much of a struggle. And now... now Revui was being crushed between his jaws. Revui, the only wolf on this earth who hadn't left him, who helped him. Orochi's breathing sped up and then he screamed. He rushed forward to grab his tail and if not that his leg. Whatever it was, if he was successful he would pull and tug. Anything to pull the beast away.

She had been struggling to get out of the males grasp and it became possible once vengeance joined into the fight. She slipped away and avoided the pups bite before lunging at him; seeing that vengeance wouldn't need her help at that moment and was fully capable of fighting. Serem hope to knock the boy right back into the pit either pinning him down in the process or hurting his leg so he wouldn't try and escape while she went to go help if the latter happened.

He remembered the fear of falling, sudden and snatching his breath. His eyes went wide and he inhaled sharply before he hit the ground, hind end first and then head smacking the ground. His breath caught and he was dazed instantly slowly exhaling and closing his eyes though he remained conscious to some vague extent.

Fading out as he heard Orochi turn to join the fray. Hearing Vengeance come through...

Fading in as the fight raged on, snarling and snapping. He felt sick, his head aching and whimpered, the sound ragged and cut off turning into a snap of his teeth. The world lurched as he rolled to his belly and he vomited, fading out for a few seconds and groaning as he stood up.

"I am not a coward" he mumbled as he stood up and lurched, a disgusting retch tearing from his throat as he fell into the wall. He took a deep breath and slowly walked to the stairs that Revui had left and struggled up, snarling and bristling, limbs shaking with effort as he reached the top eyes falling upon Orochi as blood dribbled down burning his eyes from a gash on his head. "I'm gonna get you, you bastard!" he roared, the word appearing from a memory of watching his father struggle to catch a squirrel during his illness to feed his mother. He seethed with rage and lunged for Orochi who had yanked his leg from Serem's grasp. He scrambled out of the pit, jaws slathering with spit as he snarled making a quick tackle slamming him to the side and separating him from the Fray. Valour leaped and tried to grab the injured leg failing as Orochi turned and bolted "Who's a coward now?!" he shouted and ran to chase him down tail arched above his back.

@Orochi permission was given to pp exit, I did Serem injuring Orochi's leg and Valour missing for now.  Lemme know if I need to change. Valour is out
