All Welcome
Set at Blacktail Deer Plateau. All welcome!

Yo, slowpoke! Spica loudly shouted over her shoulder at @Syrma as she left the safety of Kaistleoki's lands and decided to explore a little beyond its borders. The past few weeks her feet were starting to itch. Everyone in Kaistleoki was pretty boring. @Speedy was alright she supposed but I mean she was also their mom which automatically meant she knew nothing about being cool. The growing youth was desperate to break free and when she saw the plateau in the distance she just knew she had to explore it.

After climbing up the side Spica stared out over the lands and let out an amazed Woooaaah! Yo Swym, check this out! Home's never been so tiny! But when she looked back she didn't see her other half anywhere. Huh, weird. Oh well. She'd catch up eventually.

Restlessness had gripped this twin too since their upheaval, and all that had followed hadn't seemed to help. It wasn't terrible, but she just felt like she couldn't get comfy some days, like a weird weight followed her around too. She missed the places it had been, how it had always been as a whole honestly.. and setting a new marker on where she was meant to call home wasn't coming easily, not when she still mourned what they had been stolen away from by nature. Yet above all, nothing was really disastrously wrong, since her family was all there and many of her most familiar faces were too, albeit a little bruised up...

Which.. probably didn't help; Syrma's interest was conflicting--those injured kept Mom busy, tending and gathering for, so that inevitably left the twins on someone else, or increasingly as they grew, somewhere else and seeing these other places was helping balm her hurts. SPIIIIIIIII, she screeched into the winds before she broke out into a faster upward hike, after her sister that had went on ahead while she had been sniffin' around, taking it in. Now, she had to rush all back up.

But she made it and came panting along towards her sister's side, rumbling something about how she hadn't waited or whatever. She nosed her way against her sister, checking in, and once that was handled, she did realize how high too. Sadly she had missed most of whatever Spica had said prior, too busy hustling on up to catch up. So small.... she commented right along the same train of thought anyway, ears back with a few blinks. Hm. She didn't like the weird disappointment that started to come around with it.

Since there really wasn't much to see about that, she couldn't help but turning her sights towards the rest of the Plateau.

Syrma of course agreed with her on the smallness, before she turned to discover the rest of the plateau. Wait up!! Spica bellowed after Syrma and she bounced after her twin in the direction of the plateau. She nipped at Syrma's shoulder with a playful growl, excited because they were going on an adventure!! Spica hadn't often been outside of pack territory lands so getting to go out now, and beside her twin of all, was pretty exciting.

As they turned the focus away from home, it was easy to move on. Maybe surprisingly so but she didn't take the time to consider it. Together, bolstered by her sister's presence, she felt that fear of the unknown take a step back--she didn't need to hear from it, not up here, where their brothers couldn't slow them down or tattle on them any and Mom was nowhere near calling off their fun because she needed them elsewhere. Up here, they were.. all theirs!

Syrma's ears perked and she did wait up for her sister, but didn't stall for long; she did need them to be together, unless she was going to balk at all this unknown. Her face was bravest beside her twin. We gotta keep going! she yipped, almost wanting to laugh aloud about. Who can even get us up here?? she snickered over her shoulder--not accounting for other dangers that loomed beyond, of course, but in her fresh freedoms, these were easy to overlook.

Rosalyn hadn't been there long at this point, and for the first while, she wanted nothing more than to rest.  It was too bad that in famine, this was impossible.

She was hunting when she heard the children.  They were scaling the Plateau's side and encroaching on Rusalka's claim.  Perhaps she should have felt protective - but she did not, right now.  If food had been taken, this would be different.  Apparently these ones had just failed to take heed of the pack that dwelled here.

So, patiently, she sat down at the top.  When they arrived, she wanted to see where they came from.

Was Rusalka's move to BDP a recent one or am I just a derp? I do remember looking at the map, but I must've somehow overlooked the claim. ^^' I'll just roll with it! :)

It was soooo tall up here! Spica ran after Syrma, caught up in following her sister so that she didn't really notice anything else going on around them; not even the scents that showed these lands were claimed. Syrma didn't wait for long and Spica did her best to keep up with her twin. Yeah, we're free! Spica hollered back at her sister, tail wagging at the thought of her newly gained freedom. It wasn't that Speedy was particularly strict on them; but Spica knew no worse, of course, and so being here without their mother was still some sort of freedom. Accepted or not.

Woah, Swym, look-- Spica shouted at her twin as she saw the figure of the strange wolf up on the plateau's edge. She skidded to a halt by her sister's side (however close or far that was from the stranger -- she wouldn't let her sister be braver than her!), unable to hide a little bit of heavy breathing out of exhilaration.

i'm fine to roll with whatever whenever, idk what timing is either anyway :D

Free.

She didn't know why, but her heart sang a little to hear that chimed in her sister's voice. Up here, there was something new and yet... She just didn't know, and kept her paws going in pursuit of this rush she was starting to taste in her very own way.

But what she did know was that Spica was here and she was absolutely absorbed in taking this in, so badly that she didn't heed the signs of anything that actually did threaten their explorations.

Suddenly they weren't alone and a strange presence watched them from above, which changed things in her course just like that. She stopped immediately and went half-hackles up on basis of stranger and looming alone. How long had they been watching?? Herself torn between the thrill of the adventure, and a whole new tidal wave of didn't know what once again, Syrma felt a prickle of annoyed unease rise too while she also realized how she had to catch her breath. They both did, a quick glance confirmed.

Now, very suddenly, closer to Spica was her finest spot, all before she barked out her best What do you want!! at their new company, which she of course felt inclined to punctuate with a hard glare. This was waay sooner than she had intended to cut their fun...

no worries!!! This was after the official relocation even, which was prob why you couldn't find the thread location in the lists. Technically this should be on the Rusalka board.  But I just took it as on the borders anyway! <3

sometimes we are slower on updating the map than we are other things, ^^;

It appeared eventually that one did notice her, but the other seemed to continue on obliviously.  Rosalyn didn't have much more than amused curiosity to her eyes as she looked on them, but that spread into a smile when Syrma spoke.  The girl had guts to treat Rosalyn as though she herself were the intruder.

I simply wondered what two ladrones were up to, scaling our walls.  This is a dangerous place to play.  She responded.  She didn't bother to raise her tone to match.  Rosalyn remembered the exhileration of excursions such as these and had little interest in stopping them so long as they did not stray too far.  The plateau had little enough to give the wolves who lived there already.

The pair of them stood by each other's side, both looking daring and unafraid, but the proximity to one another confirming they were maybe just a little afraid. Spica would never tell, of course, so when Syrma shouted a bold 'what do you want!' she chimed in with a Yeah! while looking up at the stranger who guarded this mysterious new place.

There were sooo many questions with what the other wolf said. So first of all, who was she anyway?! And secondly, what's a ladrones? And the most intriguing bit of it all: what was so dangerous about this place? Dangerous?! Spica blurted out before she knew it. I laugh in the face of danger! Which was pretty far from the truth, of course, but there was no way that she was gonna let either the scary stranger or Syrma know that she was actually kinda scared. What's so dangerous 'bout it, anyway? And what's a ladrones? And who even are you? Spica tucked a bit closer to her twin at the last question, subconsciously giving away some of her fear, even though she managed to keep the rest of her body neutral and her head cockily erect to emphasise her bold words.

With Spica right beside her, and a stranger just ahead who called them something weird (she was pretty sure that was what she heard), her fear felt a little further away now that she could see that the situation was not all bad just yet. Feeling a touch bolstered by both her sister and a reception that was probably more amused by them than anything, not that the young twin could really tell exactly, she just knew she wasn't being scolded or hauled back on home yet so that had to be a plus--she would take that as so far, so good and bite back the rest of her uneasiness, or at least send it away to nowhere; it had no place here, right!

But, though the stranger warned them of danger, Syrma stuck her nose up at the idea after her eyes bugged curiously. Spica was there with the appropriate questions though, to which the sister nodded boldly as she stayed right next to her. Yeah! What! Who! she chimed, reinforcing what her sibling asked without a doubt.

Thieves, she replied, though her tone was still affable.  You scaled our wall quite well.  Take it as a compliment, though I would not come much further.  She didn't want to protect their claim, but she would if she must.

I am Rosalyn, and this is Rusalka.  Who are you?  She was definitely charmed by the one's outright boldness.  The second seemed more wary of her, but the direction was aimed at both.

Thieves?! Spica reiterated with a huff of insultedness. In some way, being a thief was pretty cool, but on the other hand it could also well be an insult. Spica wasn't entirely sure which one was worse. Maybe being a thief was pretty cool? But her initial response had already been insult, so she couldn't really get back on that one now. We're no thieves! She looked at Syrma for confirmation, though knowing that she would get it anyway.

The wolf introduced herself after her ominous threat -- a threat that just made Spica want to go in more, but instinct stopped her from daring it -- as Rosalyn, and the place as 'Rusalka'. Spica wasn't entirely sure she wanted to share her name but on the other hand, if she was gonna be an infamous thief they may as well know who she was. I'm Spica, she introduced and she looked at Syrma to leave space for her to say her name. And we're from Kaistleoki down there somewhere. She gestured down the plateau, because honestly the place didn't matter very much. It wasn't nearly as cool as this one.

Syrma didn't know what to think about that.. so cue more wide, golden eyes at the scarred wolf. But, they definitely hadn't stolen anything! They had only just got up here, and nothing along the way was really things to steal to her..? She failed to see how being here marked them as thieves, but whatever! Yeah, we are not thieves! she sighed, exasperated, right after her twin said very much the same thing.

'm Syrma, she piped in with. She had kept the compliment about scaling their wall well for later. The whole matter of this whole up, and these strangers living up here called Rusalka was fascinating enough to veer her onward while Spica answered about where they had come from. Yeah.. down where it's all boring. What's it like up here? the youth asked with a tiny glance past Rosalyn to conclude her wondering with.

For not thieves, you seem rather keen on scaling our walls.  Thrillseekers then.  Then you should be more than content going home empty handed.  She didn't care that they were here, but food was too short to take chances on any disappearing.  Though it was likely they had none stored anyway.

Kaisteloki.  She didn't recognize that pack, but marked it in her memory.

Honestly? Boring, but taller.  What were you expecting?  she eyed them with her singular gaze, more than a little curious.  It seemed they were just here for an adventure, and if that was the case, she was likely going to have to disappoint.  They couldn't afford trouble right now.

Syrma did good to fill in the empty spots and back Spica up. Spica didn't know what a thrillseeker was either, though later when she was on her way home it might all yet click together in her brain. Anyway, for now she decided not to ask 'cause she didn't wanna look dumb, so she just looked insulted. If it was another alternative for thieves then it was probably bad!

The answer to Syrma's question was pretty disappointing. Boring, still. Seemed everywhere was boring, ugh. Spica looked visibly miffed with the answer. Well, that sucks, she sighed, projecting her actual thoughts as they were. She rolled her eyes as she said it and kinda forgot that the stranger-turned-Rosalyn had asked a question in return. Maybe Syrma would think to answer it.

Thrillseekers, perhaps then? Maybe. She couldn't argue with that one outright since she didn't know enough to say.. but it certainly wasn't wrong when half the goal with them often was to outrun boredom, somehow. Still, better this way than to be accused of thievery. She knew that was not what they were doing.

Nevertheless, her ears drooped a bit and her face scrunched with disappointment when boring, but taller, wasn't quite enough to excite. Indeed, it did suck. Taller was only marginally better than flat, and not enough to balm her today. Ugh! Maybe at least a place without the boring, for once, she answered, exaggerating the scoff that came with her emphasis. If there's nothin' but boring up here then, we'll just go! she huffed, starting to turn towards Spica for a nudge, but her eyes stayed on Rosalyn--juuust in case she had something interesting to say to that.

If she were more interested, she might have drawn this out.  There was little about those two to grab her aside from their unconventional entry... neither their pack nor their purpose.

I'd suggest it, before something meaner comes, she replied, the suggestive lilt still laced with some humor.  They were in no danger from her; so long as they didn't linger long.  She had better things to do than babysit wanderers at the border.

It turned out that this place was pretty boring as well, and Syrma was right to suggest departure. Yeah! Spica said with a sigh that was a little disappointed-sounding. She looked at Syrma and nodded, then looked back at Rosalyn when she said that something meaner might come. We ain't scared! Spica reiterated, just in case that wasn't clear enough by now. C'mon Swym, let's go. She roughly nudged her sibling and then turned away from the Plateau and the wolf, ready to get on down again.

Smell ya later! Spica called over her shoulder as she and her twin ran off, and she nipped at Syrma's shoulder playfully as they descended from the plateau and back towards the river.

The suggestion of something meaner to come almost brought her to questions, but by that point, she was too committed to her leave already. Spica filled in the necessary blanks for her by backing up the fact that they were not scared (mostly true) and she was free to stick her nose up at all of this and be on her merry little way out of here--back from the way they had come from, even if she wasn't feeling thrilled about heading back home yet necessarily. That was part of the problem.

Anyway, she only glanced back once, and soon, Rosalyn was out of sight entirely--free to go about her business without the pair of pests on her home.
