, currently it is clear and set during the late afternoon. Located in Great Bear Wilderness, lake rodneyooc: alyssa and i spoke in discord about this plot! | tagging: @Nakara

A hunt. A wolf hunt. Serem had spoken of her sister again, dredging up the moment they had left her maimed but alive. She regretted her decision. The now vindictive Serem craved her sister's pain further, to take her freedom away permanently until their power. The last time they met the white woman, Nightwalkers were barely made, their territory barely secured or explored. Now they had a spot for someone like her, a place to throw her until she was ripe for the picking. They had a plan for the young woman, the sister of the Consort - and the pups, @Valour, @Clay, and @Hela; all they needed was the final cog in their plan to be brought home.

The Consort informed Vengeance that her sister's scent was picked up on within Great Bear Wilderness, she was in their domain... somewhere, roaming... And he would find her. Carefully the Warlord wandered their lands, his and Hydra's lands for the woman that Serem desired. Her scent was close, he didn't have to travel far - with his head low to pick up the scent, his eyes roamed the horizon ahead for any signs of the white woman...

Her hearing was impaired due to not having one and she had no idea the dreadful male was near until she caught a whiff of the rank smell he gave off and her tail immediately went in between her legs as she looked around for him. Her heart pounded in her chest as she caught sight of him and her immediate instinct was to run which she did.

There she was. His position was already given away. The woman was already running away and be followed after her in a jog. Given his size, Vengeance was more fitted for ambushing his targets, he was capable of a burst of speed for a short time, but to give chase to someone much more limber than he was out of the question. He would simply follow her at a steady pace.

He was already on her trail, eventually, she would tire of running and he would corner her as soon as she was too busy catching her breath or tending to tired limbs. He would be that figure who followed her at any distance until fatigue would be her ultimate end.

they make an odd pair, she notes, as she tracks their movement from her ridge. a hunter, and the hunted, a dynamic most would not dare interfere in. but it's a rare enough occurrence to see a wolf hunted that the woman can not help but watch, and as the chase threatens to move out of sight, so does she shift into a quick lope.

her momentum is hastened by the downwards incline of the ridge, and the wraith moves to cut across the hunted's path. it is the simple strategy that has won her so many hunts in the past; she swings ahead of the woman, moving to stand across her path and facing her with a dead-eyed snarl that she hopes has her reverse direction, or in the least stop. she'll all too interested in what will happen when the beast catches up.

Their was two of them now; a whiter female who was now in front of her and it was either face the beast or face her and the girl didn't know what to do so she would attempt to ram the female hopefully knocking her off balance and run.

Pace steady, he was careful to follow her scent even if her sight wasn't in view. The hunter wouldn't lose his prey. The scent of fear was thick and unmistakable, he would follow her until the ends of the earth until she could not find anywhere to hide, break those pretty little legs and drag her back to the Haunted Woods alive.

Surprisingly, another pale woman had appeared and instead of assisting his prize, it stood in her way. He studied the two for a moment while approaching with that ever-steady pace of his, watching their body language... He would not be caught in a similar situation as he was with Caiaphas and Merrik. Nakara lunged for the new woman, their alliances with one another becoming ever so slightly clearer that they were not friends...

His pace quickened as the woman was distracted by the ghostly figure, jaws aimed to tear into one of her hind legs and begin his assault on his Consort's sister.

the woman would have to do a lot more than charge her in order to be a threat; the wraith lunges to meet her, jaws agape and aiming to tear at the soft parts of her ears, cheek, throat. she is quick, efficient, though half of her attention remains on the man; she does little more than attempt to rein the woman in, close to the brute that attacks from behind. she has no stake in this save a half-kindled interest in the hunter, though remains well out of his way as she worries the female.

The female didn't budge at all instead seemed to be herding her towards the big male and fear immediately set in as she felt the singeing pain of his teeth sinking into her hind leg resulting in her releasing a howl of pain as she tries to kick him with her other leg hoping to claw him resulting in a release but it messes up her balance instead and she reaches up to snap at him.

With his fangs deep into the muscular part of her leg, the woman, of course, would try to fight back for her life. He quickly glances over at the other female to keep an eye on her and her motives, should she decide to lunge at him, he would act accordingly. Back off and change tactics... otherwise, he would shake his prize violently in order to disorientate her, to get his fangs to dig deeper into her leg. To tear and shred and only stop to give the other woman another glance.

She seemed oddly familiar. The air she gave off, her figure - it reminded him of someone he hadn't seen for a long time now... But who? Why would she help him corner the damsel, what was in it for her? What could she possibly want? Perhaps she has heard of his claim and was on her way to request a mercenary for a job... but then again, that familiarity still went unexplained.

when it becomes apparent that the brute has the firm upper hand of the female, she withdraws slightly, focusing her attention more fully on him. she remains on the fringes of the struggle, ready with curled lips and yellowed fangs to corral the woman back toward the man should she somehow break free. but she doubts that will ever come to pass, observing somewhat detachedly the practiced ease with which the brute moves.

The pain surged through her body and she was scared of what was going to happen next. He shook her violently and her eyes started to fog. She still tried to wiggle out of his grasp but his grip was too strong and Nakara couldn't fight for much longer.

Her strength was fading, he could tell. The shaking must have done what he wanted, once her bucking had slowed he let go of his grasp and began to walk atop of her. Focussing on the other white woman while keeping his weight on the prey, he would multi-task to keep her as a captive while questioning this woman who aided in the capture.

Who are you? Why did you assist me? His accusatory tone was evident, she must want something from him, there was no helping one wolf hunt down another from the goodness of one's heart without a hidden agenda. Every step he took on the woman, keeping one paw firmly on her body while he approached her neck, still keeping his gaze on the stranger. Clearly he was confident in his control over the prisoner.

What do you want?

unsurprisingly, the man has questions. her gaze is impassive as she watches him force the woman under his control, returning to his own only when he speaks. his eyes are embers pressed into his skull, and no they burn with suspicion.

"I am merely an interested party," she answers, more or less honestly. to his second question, she pauses a moment, as if considering. she is fairly confident in the fact that he will not turn his aggression onto her, if only for the fact that the woman he seeks to keep still may use the opportunity to flee, and she assumes he is not dim-witted. "only to know why." she admits, motioning with a smooth flick of her muzzle at the woman on the earth, flicker of disdain writ across her face as she regard her.

He waited patiently for her to continue, he would not back down, he would continue to press the matter and ask again until his patience ran thin should she not open her mouth again to clarify - but she did. And so he kept quiet for a little while longer.

Why?

He didn't have to answer such a thing. He, the Warlord of the Nightwalkers, a pack of bloodthirsty mercenaries didn't need a reason why he did anything. I wanted to. Is all he said in response. No, he didn't need to explain himself to her or anyone. They were in famine after all - she could make the connections if she wanted to. Though for once it would not be completely truthful as to why he would hunt their kind, but it wouldn't be too far from his regular truth.

Not wanting to share too much, he took the woman beneath him by the scruff and dragged her to her feet (a little power play here to get the thread closed, please let me know Alyssa if i need to change it!), with a jab here and there he would guide her back to Nightwalker territory, where she would remain until useful.
