All Welcome
For the last days, Agana had been restless. Ever since the events between her and Kukutux, she had not been the same. The pearl avoided her, and if she did not want to speak about the latest events, then neither will she bring it up to her. No matter how much it hurt, Agana will not let anyone else see her struggle, her broken self, how stupid she was to open up once more, just to end up hurt again.

There she was, in the vale, padding around some trees, slightly slower than her usual pace. It was magnificent; the pale trees spoke of countless eyes that had laid upon them, countless paws that crossed these paths. Each spoke of a different story, and maybe, just maybe, if she concentrated enough, she could hear them, and listen as they spoke of their fate.

But she was unable to do so, as her mind was still there, to the events that marked her heart once again. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as Agana took one last glance to the trees, and continued on with her walk.

Once again Cupid had found himself descending the mountain and cutting through the heart of the Court. Last time he had done this his intention was to hunt, and that did happen, it just wasn't a very successful. He had caught one, maybe two rodents tops. If it weren't for that old hag maybe he would've been in a good mindset to hunt more. Oh well, that was in the past now. There was no old woman to get in his way now. He was alone, surrounded by whispering trees.

Only he wasn't. Footsteps put an end to his prowling. Cupid stood straight and groaned. Another courtier to ruin his day, now wasn't that just grand? He considered leaving but it was much too late now. A woman walked towards him. Had she seen him yet? Cupid whipped his head to the side, pretending she wasn't there.

Agana was too deep in her thoughts and did not notice her surroundings. Who could blame her? The memory of her touch was fresh in her mind, and surely won’t go away for the next days. Between them were still things that needed to be clarified, but she will not let them destroy a beautiful winter day.

She sniffed the air and was surprised to find she was not alone. Agana stopped in her tracks, glanced around for anyone besides her. Narrowing her eyes, golden gaze searched for someone, but did not manage to find anyone. Was it because of her sadness? Did it affect her senses? Realizing it did not work that way, Agana stood straight up, a slightly annoyed look on her face.

“Who’s there?” she almost shouted, glancing around for any movements. Was she followed? Agana did not recognize the scent but waited patiently for her counterpart to show their face.

A few moments passed and at first Cupid thought she hadn't noticed him. Great, now he could slip away. But before he could even take a step she called, Who's there?

Now she knew he was there, but she hadn’t seen him yet. He could still try to sneak away, but any sudden movements would surely be noticed. Slowly now... slowly. Cupid took one silent step after the other.

Agana’s expression turned into a frown; now this was getting annoying. She asked nicely and expected to be greeted by the wolf that left the scent. Instead, no one showed up; perhaps they wanted to escape her? Was it a loner then that infiltrated into their borders? The grey female shook her head, and continued.

“Покажи свое лицо!” Agana hardly ever used her third language, but when she did, it was out of anger and rage. She snarled, sniffed the air more and ran into the direction of the scent. The grey female was unsure with whom she was dealing with, but it did not matter now. Agana stopped in her tracks, a lot closer to the wolf, and spoke through her teeth. “If you do not come out and state your business, I will not hesitate to attack!” Of course she wouldn’t attack, but he did not need to know that.

If he said that sudden outburst didn't scare the shit out of him he'd be lying. Then she came running towards him? No thank you. It triggered a fight or flight response in him. Cupid may not know how to fight but he stayed nonetheless. Maybe that was less of instinct and more of shock.

Woah, hey, hold up. There's no need for all that. He stepped out slowly into her view. Sorry I was just.. He tried thinking up an excuse but couldn't find any. Cupid probably looked really suspicious on her end.

Agana was surprised to see a small, dark wolf coming into her view; and she was afraid someone was following her. The Quetelhtë raised an eyebrow, golden gaze still on her. “You were what? The grey female rose to her feet and marched closer to the crimson-eyed stranger.

“Were you following me?” It was clear the stranger had no excuse for her sudden appearance. Agana narrowed her eyes and waited for her to either clarify or confirm her suspicion; “Well?” her tone was lower than before, as she did not want to scare the other.

Uh, no. I ain't weird like that. But what else could she think of him. He'd been there this whole time snooping around in the dark, but he wasn't following her. Quite the opposite actually.

I was just trying to leave. No bullshit excuse was gonna fly here. May as well be blunt about it. But that didn't work out all too well.

“Oh, really?” now she was being rude; but she did not care enough to actually change her attitude. She did not like to be followed, or have the slightest feeling of being followed, and that’s that. The grey female was not going to atone for it.

“Why did you not show up when I asked? You could have excused yourself then.” Golden gaze fixed on the other’s red one. A mesmerizing red, if she were true to herself; the red orbs were the first thing she noticed about the image in front of her. The shadow lurker was much shorter; and she finally figured why she escaped her burning gold gaze.

“What are you doing here, if you aren’t following me?” This was a rather obvious question; she was however relieved she wasn’t being followed.

There was little reason for his actions, made all the more clear when the woman grilled him about it. Cupid opened his mouth to defend himself,  but closed it slowly. Her option would have been a better one for sure. This awkward situation would have been easily avoidable.

Hunting, he replies quickly, eager to change the subject. Trying to at least. There ain't much around here. Or anywhere for that matter. That's the biggest reason why he was within this court's walls in the first place; the promise of food. So much for that, but at least this place was stable.

The lioness eyed her counterpart’s mouth slowly part to speak, but no words came out. Her option was definitely better than scaring others. But she wasn’t scared by this small, obsidian red-eyed wolf. The left corner of her lips tugged up into a smirk; she quickly shrugged it off with a gentle muzzle shake.

“No, there is not.” Agana nodded in agreement. Hunting was no longer an option for some time now; she roamed the spires since the Court claimed the Vale in search of prey; rarely if ever she would find something edible. Luckly for her, there was the pearl who stored some meat while she tried her luck elsewhere. “Hopefully when the spring comes, so will the prey.”

closing all my old threads so I'm having cupid exit this one! feel free to post an ending or archive

Spring had a lot of promises. Warmer weather, more flora, more prey, less struggle, but there was something better than all of that. An old life waited for him at the end of the season and it couldn't come any faster. Yeah, he sighed, hopefully.

It was clear he wouldn't be able to find anything, so he saw no use in sticking around. Whatever acquaintanceship that could have formed from this was screwed already, or off to a bad start at the very least. I'm gonna look someplace else. In reality he'd head straight back to his lonely den. He turned around to walk away but not before calling: See ya.

thank you for this thread! <3

Agana eyed him curiously, and watched him turning around to leave. She nodded slowly and murmured a single “Farewell.” before heading to the opposite direction. She hoped he was luckier than her and would actually catch something; if he actually was, it might as well mean the herds returned to Teekon. Agana padded away, lost in her thoughts, cutting the Vale’s mist with her long, slim body.
