for a woman who wanted nothing to do with his shame dangle, belharra was certainly attempting to provoke a reaction from him. perhaps that was unfair of asmodeus, but the curve of her hips almost made him stumble.

"excellent," he mumbled, allowing his growing hunger to be channeled toward their impending hunt.

Isn’t that how women were? Shaking their metaphorical apples right in men’s faces, even when they wanted nothing to do with their shame-dangles? Belharra didn’t mind a playful taunt now and then - it helped to know that to some she was at least passably attractive.

Excellent indeed. Belharra parroted, her nose skimming the snow. The trail here was growing - she followed it north in vigor. Found ‘im. She motioned to a steppe ahead where a distant form of a ram surveyed the kingdom. Ready then? Better buck up before he sees ewe. Cackling at her double pun, Belharra shifted into a sneaky trot towards the precipice.

another pun. if it hadn't been for his interest to see what else she would say, asmodeus would have been turned off. but belharra had hold of him, for the present, and so the ivory serpent paced at her side, blackstone stare narrowing toward the figure in the distance.

mirroring her stalk, he hunted alongside her flank, muscles tensed and prepared to rush forward on her word. a small smirk flared to life upon his lips.

Up, up, up, Belharra went. The snakeman mirrored her prowl, pulling close. Belharra motioned to a steppe nearby that overshadowed the ram's stone throne. She would crawl atop it and hopefully flush him downhill, where they could easily outrun the beast provided there were no rocks in their way.

Content that Snakeman would understand her silent message Belharra moved uphill. The going was choppy and steep - it took her about ten minutes before she was situated, and could see Asmodeus in the rocks below. She met his gaze and hunkered down, waiting for his nod before she burst towards the ram with a frightening yodel.

he was unused to hunting with a partner, but he enjoyed belharra. so for her he would try. obsidian stare followed her for the minutes it took the woman to climb.

in a sharp burst of movement, the ram snorted, reared; tongue lolling, asmodeus tensed, waiting, waiting, waiting in his hiding place of stone until the frazzled beast was in reach.

hindquarters bunched; a leap forward.

Belharra made none of her approach secret: she shrieked like a banshee as she came down on the ram, sending it bolting.

Hopefully, right to Asmodeus' jaws.

Nevermind that it was a 300lb torpedo with a battering ram for a head. Belharra was behind it, she didn't need to think of such logistics.

She lunged just as Asmodeus did, her teeth aiming for hock. The ram swerved, leaving her with a bit of skin and fur but no purchase.

No matter, Belharra was persistent. She flew down the trail after the bolting creature, hungry and howling.

his teeth struck true and he was dragged bodily along until scrabbling paws halted his trajectory. in the interim, a great strip of skin was peeled from the animal's shoulder.

it bellowed, and he fell in beside vocal belharra, adding his own savage bark in a show of amusement and solidarity.

onward they drove the beast; when he was close once more, the snake leapt for the straining flank and tore into it with a wild flurry of teeth.

They were loud, these hounds of doom. They flew in step after the ram, black and white. Belharra slowed as Asmodeus lunged, anticipating the ram would stagger. When he did she threw herself at the beast's throat, teeth raking his winterpelt.

He shouldered her easily off of him and swung with Asmodeus in tow. Belharra landed in the snow and dodged the ram as he lowered his head and powered towards her. He knocked her aside, but as he went to turn around he was at his opposite hip, snarling and ripping into skin but ready to leap away at a moment's notice.

the ram gave a good fight. asmodeus was dragged forward once more, then shoved aside as their quarry whirled on belharra. she was quick, however, and the snake scrambled up to seize the low sweep of the horned creature's muzzle.

tail revolving wildly to keep his unsteady footing, the reptile snarled low in his throat, jaws clamped around the lip and nosebridge of the struggling animal, using his weight to keep its head down for the she-wolf's wounding blow.

Snow flew around them. The ram struggled. Belharra was breathless and panting as she leapt out of a second lunge, while Asmodeus scrambled beneath her.

He was holding the ram fast. It bellowed and shook but could not unseat him. Belharra clipped into gear and took to the ram's throat, jaws parting around soft fur. The ram bucked as blood tinged her tongue, but she did not stop.

She shook heavily and heartily, each revolution going deeper and deeper through sinew.

asmodeus was not sure he had ever felt so powerful in his life. strained breaths struggled up from the ram's nostrils as the snake's jaws tightened. belharra's teeth slashed, head ripping back and forth as she cut through the heavy winter cloak to the great vein.

slowly he thrust the great beast down, shoving gasping head into the dirt as the thick scent of metal filled the air.

With two wolves to his flank the ram dd not last long. His last struggles were subdued as Asmodeus laid him in the snow. Belharra licked her snout, tasting the blood that stung her nose and clouded her senses.

She was hungry, but there was that one awkward custom to get out of the way. Who would eat first?

Her gaze flickered to Asmodeus guilty, studying him. Was he trustworthy? Not like he could haul off with an entire ram.. but if he ate her tongue..

Against her better judgment she stepped back and allowed him first choice, but god help his reptilian ass if he went for her favorite piece.

he snorted. "fuck no. this was your idea," asmodeus pointed out, settling himself firmly in the snow to pant out the rest of his adrenaline.

belharra had been the lead hunter. the snake had taken a support role. according to their hierarchy, she should eat first, and the flatblack of his stare stated this plainly.

fade with your next post?

Oh, a gentleman? Belharra's brow quirked, and she didn't need to be told twice.

So, getting a tongue out of a ram's mouth is for a lack of a better word, really gristly business. This author will spare you the details, but needless to say, once the gory deed was done, Belharra settled a distance away so Asmodeus could then eat his piece.

She propped the lower jaw against her paw (because, that's what ended up happening - and now the ram looked really gruesome), Belharra purled. "Not bad, we'll have to do this again sometime. Take whatever you need, I've got food back at my den." She began to scarf down the food, opening her gullet like a gluttonous chick being fed worms - and that's kind of what the tongue looked like, in this moment.

A really nasty, bloody, blue worm.

once she had completely fucked the ram's face up, asmodeus snickered, moving in for his own meal. she looked fairly content, and he soon joined her, stretching out some feet nearby to digest and watch belharra though comfortably lidded gaze.
