She felt more determined than ever to find her mothers grave site especially now that her family was missing once again. Just as she had gotten comfortable they disappeared again as did her happiness. There was a sadness that hung over her as she walked and howled for @Dawn and then she remembered the man who said he'd help her and she howled for @Artyom as well and waited.

"I'll be home soon, мой дорогой," Artyom smiled for his mate, earthen gaze giving one final sweep over the soft curve of her abdomen as he concluded their farewell; "you take care of them, I'll take care of Minnow."

In a tender little moment, the gilded ranger touched his nose to Dawn's snout. He met her gaze and exchanged some silent communication. It was oddly difficult to part from her, considering they'd barely spent any real time apart since he found her. Still, they had duties to tend to, and he'd made a promise to her young niece.

He crossed the territory to find her and, as her pallid figure came into view, his tail sprung to life. Perhaps some time away from Whitebark would refresh her in the wake of more recent losses. "Hey," Artyom said with a smile, keen to keep his young ward's spirits up, "ready to go?"

As prepared as they were ever going to be, the duo carried on in the direction of the frozen willow trees.
