moriah remembered clearly her conversation with yehudis. had it all been a dream, perhaps prophetic in nature? the priestess thought to venture toward their supposed altar and check, but realized that she couldn't handle either truth.

the marker of a pack was clear in her path. moriah stepped over the border, then several yards backward, not wanting to make anyone think she'd purposefully crossed. she looked around for anyone nearby, wondering who might have claimed these stomping grounds.

Arbiter was, as always, on patrol. She'd be home for a few more days before she made another venture outwards again. A few days rest, a hunt, make sure her children were told what to do in her absence, then another short trip, repeat until she had the members (and potential sires) she needed. Be determined enough and it would be progress.

And today she found someone who had apparently just arrived at her borders. Her ears tipped forward and her paws sped up ever so slightly so she could close that distance. Even from as far away as she was, Arbiter was already doing her standard round of analyzing. She called out to the other woman as she approached, This is Legion. I am Arbiter. Who are you and what brings you here?

arbiter, apparent head of legion— moriah separated her focus from the towering trees around them and instead turned to her company. she was straightforward; although somewhat offended by the brash entrance, mimi knew that this was preferable to anyone more complicated.

this is your claim? moriah asked. she had figured that this was the woman in charge, but wanted to be sure before putting on a face. i'm meant to be passing by but i couldn't stop without complimenting the owner. her voice carried an air of sarcasm. though mimi meant what she said, it might not have come across that way.

Arbiter was already not sure what to think of her. The tone was odd. Arbiter was sarcastic with the best of them but there wasn't really too much of a call for it here was there? Unless the existence of a pack was oh so inconvenient or something. In which case, she needed to get over it. A slight frown layered on top of her serious features. It is. So just passing by then, or...? A cant of her head. She hadn't introduced herself and doubted that was the full story on her trip here. Arbiter being suspicious of someone? Always.

compliments, moriah added. she turned away from arbiter and legion, deciding that her next adventure would be elsewhere.

trying to wrap this so she can leave the game!

But that was it, apparently. Arbiter nodded quietly. And then she went and left.

Arbiter watched her go. A bizarre little meet -- here she was expecting that the meeting here was going to actually mean something, but apparently not. Just another meeting that would turn out to be nothing. At some point Arbiter just wanted things to go her way. What did she need to do to make that happen?

With a shrug to herself, Arbiter went back to the patrol, kicking up a bit of dirt and snow at the border before moving on.
