Tarot card: Judgement

Daylily had left because she had missed her home, but also because, in some ways, she had felt that perhaps she had not been ready to leave the nest. She had gone with the blessings of Dawn and Artyom, with the understanding that she had promised she would return some day.

And actually, it hadn’t been that long. Two months, if that. She was glad that the trip between Whitebark Stream and Oakstead was not that long, and she had arrived even sooner than expected because she had been excited to see everyone once again. She wondered if there were any new faces, any pups, considering the season. She had seen the births of a few litters back home before she had gone, and had almost stayed away longer for their coming into the world. But she missed her friends.

Now, she felt a little older, perhaps a bit more sure of herself. In the end, she had decided to come back because she knew that if she put it off then, she would probably put it off forever. Now she stood at the border of Whitebark and howled for Dawn and @Artyom, eager to restart.

He was not Kavik, and Dawn was not Grezig - so who were they to Pele? They were Отец and Mатушка first and foremost to their own brood who remained untouched by grief, for which the gilded leader was thankful, and so Artyom struggled with how to best support an orphan who could not quite understand the depth of reason as to why her true mother and father would not be returning for her.

Whitebark Stream felt as though it was ssuffocating. With Minnow having vanished, with the disappearance of their healer to flow, with young Surya's absence as he searched, and now with the sudden loss of Kavik and Grezig, a great dark cloud hung over their territory. Artyom watched out over his young family as they played in the grass together, content to hear the laughter of his children which managed to ease some of the immeasurable weight atop his strained shoulders.

A call sounded and, with it, what could only be described as relief. He knew that voice, and gathered swiftly to his paws in eagerness to welcome her home. Some of the cubs, aware that a howl from the edges of their land meant their father would have to take his leave, went to him at once with pleading eyes and eager requests. Unable to find the strength to reject them, he let them tag along.

"Daylily," the leader regarded the young she-wolf with gentle eyes and a watery smile, his tail swishing at his rear as he moved to embrace her with the affection of a friend. "Oh, we've missed you so much."

The newcomer to their den was met with mixed feelings from little Winter. At first he regarded her with quiet curiosity and rather fancied the idea of a new playmate, until Отец explained that Pele would be staying with them. He had frowned at the idea; it was fine to have a kid around for a little while, but permanently?

Nope. No thanks.

She didn't even want to do anything with him when he attempted to initiate a friendly wrestle or poke fun, so Winter couldn't understand why she couldn't go back to her own home. Having her there, sucking the fun out of everything, upset the balance of what had been normal to him. Winter mulled over it regularly, but a call from a stranger served as a decent distraction. He abandoned his harassment of Juniper to ho to his father at once, pleading to join him.

The she-wolf that Отец moved to welcome was one that Winter did not know, but he deemed her safe by his sire's reaction to her presence. He moved in too, happy to investigate this unfamiliar adult, and weaved his little body between her forelimbs to mouth needily at her ankles.

can be skipped or even PPed by Artyom for speed if needed!

She didn't mind the apperance of another in her family group. The more the merrier! Which she would set out to prove by dragging the girl into everything. Even if it did not work.

However there was something else to be done at the moment! As Storm had also managed to weasel her way into the trip. Bounding after her brother and father with a goofy happiness. Even if she happened to trip over herself every now and then from speedy excitement. Bumps or bruises would not be enough to mute her excitement today.

As they closed in on the unexpected, she followed the cues set for her. Отец greeted the stranger well and so did Winter. So where her brother set out to nibble at ankles, Storm would attempt to find the tail to pull on. She had found out that that seemed to work awfully well with others!

Sorry for the wait. I’m still in school!

Artyom came to greet her. Daylily glanced past his shoulder to look for Dawn, but so no one. “Artyom!” she said, wagging her tail and giving her previous leader—and now, her leader once more—a kind smile. She was about to say more when suddenly a pup was weaving its way between her legs like a cat. “U-uh,” she began, startled, looking down at the child. So wrapped up was she in the shenanigans of the first that she did not even notice the second, until it was pulling on her tail! The combined efforts of both pups caused her to fall over.

In truth, she was rather shocked, staring at the two pups for a moment. The old Daylily might have been too nervous to speak, but instead she burst out laughing. “Why, hello there!” she said between bouts of giggles. “And who might you two be, hmm?” She smirked at the little gray pup. “Don’t you know it’s rude to pull on a wolf’s tail?”
