All Welcome

Ira had given birth. The first pups for the pack this year, but surprisingly not the first litter in the territory. When Speedy has told him the other day that Reiko has given birth, he was surprised. To say the least. But with the disappearance of Evergreen and Winterbourne, and then the early arrival of their pups, Emrik had been run ragged as he was sure the rest of the pack had.

Only now was there time to set the record straight. Evergreen and Winterbourne would have done anything to be there for their children. Emrik was certain of it. So where were they? Now that the little bundles of joy were here in the flesh, Em knew that everyone was feeling the hole that they left.

So he set his nose to work, hugging the rivers edge. But he knew that Evergreen was a great swimmer. Or at least he had been, perhaps something had changed. Pausing mid search Emrik threw his head back calling for some help in his search.

There was a lot going in the pack already, and it didn't help that the news was fast to spread that the Count and his mate were filed missing, and with Ira cooped up in the den with her litter, he had to step up and help. The titan was determined to set out straight away on his own for he had trust in his skills that was coupled with his determination to find the missing members.

He was in this pack now, and he was going to pull his weight.

So when he began to make his way towards the outskirts of the territory, the summoning howl of Emrik shot through his coal tipped ears, to which the large male turned his head towards the call with a curious gleam in his eyes. But why was he being called? Or was he being specifically being called, ah well, Connor huffed and weaved his body around so that he would begin his trot towards Emrik. It didn't take long for him to get there, but once he got there he tried to look pleased to see him but he was more focused on wanting to find the missing Count and his mate.

Connor slowed his pace a few paw-lengths away from the Squire, "Hello Emrik, is there something that you need?" The giant tilted his head a bit with a bit of a serious look on his face.

Nothing seemed consistent anymore. Things were changing left and right with new things sure to come. Ira had just given birth and would be den bound likely for the next few weeks at a minimum. This only highlighted the absence of the count and his counterpart which Howl had yet to meet. Aside from his own observations word of their absence was ever more present among the pack members confirming his suspicions.

With so many new things and inconsistencies, Howl thought that presenting himself as something steady might be reassuring for those within the pack. Or maybe that was just what he was trying to tell himself amongst his own chaotic life. In any case, he stuck to his patrols with the side mission of trying to locate where Evergreen's scent may have been present last. Though it was rather hard seeing as how his scent both seemed to be ingrained within every inch of the territory as well as not strong enough to find a trail. At least now where he had had a chance to look.

His ears shifted as he heard the call from Emrik. He wasn't sure if it had anything to do with what the two had spoken about the other day, but when he arrived and saw that Connor was also there he knew it was for another reason. He heard Connor's questions and having the same sentiment he waited for Emrik's response.
Howl is always open to some interesting plots.

not going to lie i totally forgot about this thread, but it is very important

Emrik was relieved when both Connor and Howl were quick to respond. He dipped his head in greeting to them both, but his customary smile was nowhere to be seen. He was serious, his expression set in stone. He had been trying his best to find any evidence of Evergreen and Winterbourne throughout the territory, and he thinks just maybe he may have found something. They stood alongside the edge of the river, not to far from the border to head further inland.

"I think I found something." He stepped to the side, his nose falling to the ground. A paw print was caked in the dirt, aging, but the scent of was easily recognizable. Evergreen....leading out of the territory.

ngl I also forgot xD sorry

Howl was also quick to arrive which totally didn't make things awkward, but nonetheless, Emrik has summoned them both so the Squire must have something important to tell them. Emrik made his way over to the river bank and pointed out his findings to be a pawprint which caught the interest of Connor so the titan made his way over to where the Squire was gesturing. It was a paw print, a large one at that with it looking somewhat fresh but the age of the print was starting to catch up to it.

The cinnamon male peered closer at it with intuitive thought with his nose twitching at the scent of the print, Evergreen, the former Count. The ranger figured it was because he was just fishing hence why it was so close to the bank, but it was quite odd as well considering the fact that he had just recently disappeared. The giant tilted his head up slightly to meet Emrik's eyes, "this could just be some sort of coincidence considering that Evergreen had just disappeared recently... Or it could be something more..." His gut was telling him to fear the worst so he shifted his eyes at Howl, to see if he had any ideas of what this could mean.

Correct me if Howl's findings wouldn't fit with what actually happened. :)

Howl felt somewhat at a disadvantage. He had been apart of Kastleoki for some time now but he hadn't had a chance to interact with Evergreen much except for that one occasion. And he certainly didn't know much about Winterbourne. Their scents had been intermingled at the border but to individually identify them would be hard. Emrik pointed out a distinctive paw print and identified it as Evergreens. Conner had his chance to further investigate and provided some likely context.

Howl had been looking around and though he could sense wolves had been in the area was unable to discern who they were. He went over to the paw print and took in its scent, but it was different than what was around. "I don't think he was alone. There's two scents mixed together around the area. Him and Winterbourne were close right? Spent a lot of time together? Did their scents rub off on one another possibly? Perhaps they were both here." he suggested.
