Birth
Whelping Den

05/27
The labor pains had started the day before, the feeling of liquid down her legs had been the first sign that caused her to go into a panic. @Collision was worried just as she was, the pain gripped her next but there was no urge to push and she would not until it was safe. If only the children had known that their location was not safe for them to be welcomed into the world, this would have been easier on her. Instead she had to have the charcoal male help her to her den to the anger of her husband, he was furious that she had left in such a state. She could not blame him but everything changed when she gave out a whimper in pain.

That was where she was now, almost a day later. The pains rode her body in wave that she could not control and no matter how hard she tried to force the situation, the children had not come into the world just yet. Instead the scent of metallic blood coated the air as she breathing grew shallower, she was tired but finally there was actually a need to move. A need to help a child move into this world. They sun was beginning to finally rise but her world was still in shadow. when the first baby came into the world there was no sound, panic ceased her as she began to frantically lick the unmoving babe and found the problem. This little one was not meant for this world, Her umbilical cord had been wrapped around her neck, she never had a chance to struggle or even draw in her first breath and yet the marchioness still cleaned her and placed her between her paws. She was as white as her father, not a single ounce of color but she would never see if her eyes would stay blue or shift to his beautiful tone of lavender.

Her attention moved from the chilling child to the next, another girl but this one carried her signature marking. The pain that came over her did not let her noticed that this little one was not moving with the will of a strong will, she kicked weakly and could not seem to latch onto the life source she needed. this next babe came with more blood, the pain caused her to cry out in pain to the point she almost passed out but she couldn't. She wouldn't.

She pushed harder and again she cried out, it took sometime for this one to struggle out of his mother, his cries came to her heavy pants. As she cleaned him she smiled in relief, he was a rather large boy. no wonder her narrow hips had not wanted to release him so easily, she moved him next to his weakening sister. Frowning at her failure to latch onto the teet as the boy did so expertly, then she noticed their size difference and gave out a cry. She would not make it, she was too weak. This was her fault.

The light of the sun angled slightly into the whelping den, signifying a very early morning but she was not done. Pain came again in a crashing wave as her panting grew erratic, please let this be the last one, please let they be born as healthy as her prince but she was never that lucky. the last came and he too was small, not a sound came from him nor did a breath. she quickly moved him next to his cold sister, only then noticing a slight marking on his nose and it was brown. She gave a strange squeaking sound as she looked away from the chilling puppies between her front paws and placed her plush tail over her living children but she knew.. the girl would not make it more than a few more hours and so she watched her, licking her in encouragement that would never work.

That was when the tears came.

his world had not been the safest place for the last 24 hours but he did not have a concept of time, he had not know that he had came a few days early, nor did know that his siblings were not as big or as strong as he was. All he knew was that this was chaos, movement, and discomfort. one then two went before him, the second had pumped him weakly in his cocoon but he did not understand that she was not long for the world past this world that was once in harmony and peace.

then is became his turn, he did not want to leave the comfort of what he knew. what he did not understand. instead he fought the movement but it was all in vain as he was ejected. he squirmed to be free of the cocoon that incased him bit it was nother being that freed him, a scent he knew but did not understand as he let out a strong wail. he was not happy with his predicament but this was soon remedied. a push and he was brought next to the weaker sibling but there was one one, shouldn't their be others?

I am so sorry for the delay!!!!!

She had been struggling. Since he had proposed he pregnancy had grown harder and harder. She was sick constantly, and very rarely had the energy to do much of anything. He was worried. Extremely so. He had been unsure of her wishes when she went into labour. His mother had never had any children aside from him and his sister, and Yuudai hadn't ranked high enough to be anywhere near any births. This was an entirely new experience for him. So he had situated himself just inside the entrance of the den, waiting for her to call on him or need him in anyway.

He could feel her pain, every cry gripping his heart painfully. Yuudai softly spoke to her, despite his own tears at the children they lost. He did his best to remain strong for her. To be there for her. He had no idea she blamed herself, in fact Yuu had already started blaming himself. If only he had been more attentive. If only he had helped her more. Surely there was something he could have done to prevent this.

She was so tightly wound around their only surviving son when Yuudai finally found the courage to approach her. He was slow and methodical in his approach. Doing his best to ignore the tiny bodies to the side. He would deal with them in a moment.

Yuudai dropped his head to Hiromi's. Kissing her cheek gently as he frame shook with tears. "Hiro." He whispered in her ear, a sadness in his tone. "He is beautiful." Yuu thought it best to distract her, and focus on their son. "What shall we call him?" He smiled softly at her, as he dropped his head further, to gently brush his nose along his head.

It hurt, everything had been so difficult. How could she have been so stupid, how could she have let herself travel in the condition she was in? She should have tried harder, moved more when she was still in the height of her pregnancy. That would have help, right, the make them stronger?

Her eyes had closed due to exhaustion and the overwhelming weight of sadness that had now clouded over her heart, tears continued to stream down her cheeks as she felt her mate's touch. She could not face him, look what she had done! His children were dead and it was all her fault, she did not think her husband would blame himself. It was true he had not been there when she needed him, but she was thinking he was having second thoughts. That he would rather be with Reiko rather than her, she could give him healthy children after all. What did give him, one healthy child and another on her way to the spirit world.

He touched her and she gave a tiny whimper before opening her eyes once more, her gaze watery with tears so she could not see him very well but his words were quite a welcoming sound from the silence. She nodded weakly as he spoke about how beautiful their only surviving child was, he had not looked and the two between her laws. No the pristine white little girl, not the brown nose marked boy. He had not stressed the weaker child that was already moving slower against her breast, only the largest one. What would they name him, had he gotten a chance to name any others? She knew his mother never had more than he and his sister.

"Have you thought of a name? I had girl names but they were of your mother and my mother.. why don't you name him.." In her tone was an apology, she wanted to give him more. She did not tell him that Reiko had already used Sumi's name but at least she could give him this one gift, a son with an name he chose.

He was not it yet asleep but he waa close to it, is sister had finally figured out how to use the kilk bar but he had not known she was too weak for this world. Instead he felt vibrations from his mother's crying and gave a squeak in response though he was unsure why. Something struck his tiny heart and maybe the sound he could not hear would be of comfort?

A movement, a new scent. This new smell touched him and he could only give a louder sound in response , what was that? Who is that? He lifted his head, poorly but he tried. Sadly without sight he could not see his father and could not keep it up for long. Oh man, that was hard work.

im totally missed the little girl in my last post I apologize for that!

Hiromi was obviously extremely tired, and it nearly brought Yuudai to tears. She had struggled so hard, and lost so much. The guilt landed in his stomach like a molten rock. How could he have let this happen? He had known her pregnancy was difficult. But after everything that happened with Rei and Takeshi, Yuu had realized he'd neglected his wife. He had allowed this to happen. He hadn't taken proper care of her. And now she was paying the consequences for his inaction.

"I'm so sorry." Yuu turned to her again, smiling sadly as his son squawked rather loudly. He was a strong and healthy boy. And Yuu would cherish him. Yuudai pressed his forehead against her own, taking a calming deep breath with her as he thought of a name. Slowly he pulled back. This time he reached out for his little daughter. Even as her fight weakened. He gave her a lick across her back, trying to comfort the tiny child. He knew her time was coming to an end, but he refused to let he go without a name. She had come to the world, and she was a gift, regardless of her early demise. "She needs a name too." He whispered softly, afraid her might break his first daughter. "Okurimono" Yuudai spoke her name, hoping it would give her a blessing in her next life.

He glanced up at Hiromi, hoping she wouldn't be upset with his split second decision. Yuu offered a small smile, grief in his eyes. Guilt in his heart.

Shifting his gaze back to the boy, Yuudai gave him a comforting tongue across the back as well. Happy despite the sadness that had seeped into this normally joyous occasion. "How about we name him....Kazuhiko?" His first born son. His tiny little boy.
