All Welcome
@Aningan <3
wotd; compunction

how is it that time had managed to slink past so languidly without her realising? since the day that rowan had been allowed roam within the clutches of rusalka, she'd intended to speak to both him and the ivory leader that had granted him said access. yet somehow the intentions would be lingering uselessly in the back of her mind by the end of each lazily passing day spent roaming borders or pondering over various conjectures. the thoughts that would intrude harshly to preoccupy her mind most days were always in relation to the life she had thus far lived. so many chapters, all so wildly different in their intricately woven idiosyncrasies and yet always lingering one step ahead...the pursuit of happiness.

it plagued her waking moments, being the exact thing to dart about her mind when she'd stumbled across rowan and now still it roamed as she sought aningan. the determination to have words with the polar boy reignited after finally conversing with the blackfeather child. she was weighed down by the constant concern that she hungered for something that did not truly exist and therefore, her search was fruitless and would result in restless chagrin that would haunt her steps for the rest of her days. it was a shockingly terrifying idea, despite its tame demeanour, to spend a life miserable after trying so hard to capture true bliss. one would think, that after what she had escaped, anything would appear worthy of content in comparison? yet perhaps wistful reveries that had kept her afloat during the most brutal of days had painted a life that exceeded the world's abilities. or maybe it ran even deeper...a fear at wasting the life that had been gifted to her and yet robbed from faolan, yet allowing this compunction to writhe and jeer from within and cost her happiness ultimately did exactly what she feared doing.

eyes fluttered shut as a vexed huff slipped forth to join the sprightly dance of the breeze, her head hurt- and for nothing! this idiotic system of thoughts did nothing but dim her awareness and leave her with a tender temper that did no one any favours. it was not the first time that she wondered if the mindset that had been bet into her at the camps would be favoured over the wayward mind that scrambled at the controls of her consciousness now? snorting, smooth steps grow more stalk like in nature as she makes her way across the moor in search of the mighty bulk of the rusalkan leader.

Two now existed within Rusalka that knew of Maegi; family to him, only not by blood. Would they know of his father, too, or was the man’s existence tied strictly to the pallid woman’s own? There were questions that danced through his mind each night that followed Rowan’s arrival, ones he sought the answers to and others he wished to cast aside. How did they know Maegi—how long ago did they know her? How many answers would either of them hold? There was so much that he wanted—needed—to know and yet… time was able to slip away so easily, the days dragging by and his inquiries remaining unspoken, unanswered.

Another day was set to go by, more time to seek out answers lost. The Sun was beginning to lower in the sky, seeking shelter below the horizon. She cast the moor in warm hues of orange whilst the sky overhead wore a blanket of yellows and pinks, intertwined and morphing. In the hours to come the Sun would be no more, fleeing from the Moon as She always would; he recalled the story of their origins with ease, the details never sitting well with him. But the scene itself, watching as the Sun continued to evade the Moon, was mesmerising—he could stand there and watch it until the cycle completed itself, and likely would have, if not for the uppik.

A call overhead and a flutter of wings as she landed atop his back, talons entangled within his thick pelt, hardly scraping his skin. He turned his head to glance back at her curiously, wondering what she was up to—but before he could ask, she was once again soaring through the skies, leaving him there in his confusion.

Until it was broken by the sound of footfalls, steady and drawing nearer to his location. Turning, Aningan faced the direction of the sound, waiting to greet the other—who, before long, was revealed to be Tundra. “Are you looking for something?” he asked with an owlish tilt to his head. Perhaps she was the uppik’s reason for alerting him, drawing him out of his own thoughts to return to reality.
Characters are more than welcome to mistake Aningan for a polar bear.
A snowy owl can also be noted hanging around with Aningan, usually in the trees or sky, unless stated otherwise in my posts.

she found him as the sky began to bleed, signalling the death of yet another day. her svelte figure would move with that uncanny grace as the eddying mist drifting amongst the heathers swirled at her paws whilst her head dipped a greeting to the boy when he noticed her. a small nod as she moved to sit beside him, blinking up at the rioting skies. "i was looking for you actuallyshe'd murmur, following the encroaching indigo that snapped at the heels of lagging pastels; trying to keep up with the burning inferno of colour surrounding the mighty sun as the darkness chased her into the hungry jaws of the thrashing sea once more. inhaling the cooling air, she casts shadowed eyes back to her companion, appreciating the way the sun kissed his pallid fur and therefore hers too. their pale complexion the perfect canvas for the burning light.

where to start? she rolls her shoulders back and frowns a little, should she ask him how he's doing, make some comment about his pack first? but she had never been an expert at small talk at the best of times and she had the feeling that he knew well she wasn't here to comment on the weather. so getting straight to it, she began with "i must know, how exactly is it that you know of maegi? are you's related?she'd never mentioned him but she supposed they hadn't spoken a whole lot on their pasts. she'd relieve him of her piercing look to tip her chin up to the skies once more, marvelling at just how quick the night made her mark as sparks of light began to gutter to life high above.
