All Welcome

The rain kept pouring. They could not smell the prey, and sorrowed for the one they had lost. The bear had gotten in their way, and Monty had no choice but to leave, and give up what was originally theres.

A howl- for what was lost, and for what they urged.

Hungry.

he had heard dogs howl and coyotes howl and even a fox howl (though, that was more of a scream), but hadn't yet heard a wolf howl until now.

it was awesome. wild. fierce. he wished he could make noises like that. all call of the wild. could he?

questions for later.

he wanted to see who was making all that noise. there was no moon to howl at. maybe they just knew?

he wasn't too far from the howler. he could see them, sandy and sodden. he wasn't sure how to start. was there a protocol? he didn't have a manual for adulting. or convos for that matter. you uh.....ok? he flicked an ear as rain dropped onto it.

A cougar.

A curious stare to the feline creature- realizing.. Monty has never tasted one before. Did they taste like a wolf? Or perhaps the cats? Even the small squirrels seemed similar to them, were they like that?

But he was big, bigger then the wolves. It was a gaze of gauging.

Should they try.. Or should they avoid.. Primal instinct said to flee, but their stomach growled for a meal.

But Monty wants to live- so fleeing it is.

All Welcome
It spoke, having Monty turn around, giving a blank stare to the cat. Like a curious child, the beast tilted it's head left and right, not breaking away in a stare. It spoke like the wolves. A curious one.

Words were hard to muster for the gourmey, but they vaguely knew some. Hearing and listening was one thing, but saying it was a hard topic to touch. They preferred to use their mouth to simply raid and eat, to taste and devour.. Speaking, seemed useless.

"You,"

"attack?"

Or do.. They attack the cat?

it looked at him, tilting its head left to right. he had to wonder just how odd he was. did mountain lions not interact with anything at all? he figured since he didn't know the rules, that it didn't matter if he broke them or not.

the wolf spoke simply enough, which was good for benry's hearing, but the way the wolf spoke was strange for him to understand at first. naw, man he snorted, clearing some rain from his nostrils. i ain't gonnaaa.... ain't gonna 1 v 1 ya.

They didn't understand what that meant, only it was a 'no' for attack. They weren't going to attack them, but that didn't mean anything about them forth.

Then again, they had survival instincts, knowing it was not bright at all, to attack a feircer opponent. It was how they survived for so long.

The fellow was allowing them to ask, so maybe, "you."

"free food?"

"I eat you?"

benry squinted. huh? he said reflexively, though he didn't have to pause to process for long before he responded. u wot mate? he said unironically. eat me? nah, you....you can't do that. he shook his head. was this technically cannibalism? it wasn't...but it felt just as wrong. you shouldn't have conversations with food. either they don't talk or they can't.
