All Welcome
Now this felt like the right way to the Mountain Wolves. How they dreamed of their taste again, except the last time, they were chased off with a fury. Survival was key, and they ran from the wilds without a second thought. However they are back.. And perhaps too close to their domain.

Though they knew not to get any closer, they could just feel this was the right direction. Across the muddy terrian, would be their empire. A festival! All for them, to devour and feast.

They wondered if any would come out, and lurked near.

When the rains tapered off to a slow drizzle, he began to make his way off the mountainside and into the Glen. Jarilo's hope remained that he could perhaps muster up a hunt while catching a rare break in the showers, but even as he neared, he found little except for soggy landscapes and the overwhelming scent of rainfall. In the humid warmth, a hint of a misty haze had begun to gather even. His prospects were not looking mighty, but, it was still early so on he went before his hope got any soggier--along with the rest of him.

He prowled, and kept on a good alert despite his trot. This was what brought him towards the stranger, and seeing another slowed him up. Not prey, so there was a hint of disappointment in this thought, but he went on beyond it quickly. However, nearing, he realized more about the wolf.

Narrowing his eyes with this suspicion, something pinged as vaguely familiar (though he still had his doubts), and it took him a few strides to place it before his hackles began to shift. Still, kept moving closer to the other, tail-tip twitching upward with the Spear at his back.

No wolves of the mountain came down. It disappointed them so, especially that delicious black one they saw long ago. How Monty wanted to charge forth, however instead a group of them did it instead toward the beast. No choice, and had to flee, without a meal to their stomach. Truly a saddened day.

A visible wag could be seen when finally, a shadow came down.

Finally!

However.. There was a wary sense in Monty. Where they alone? Or was the bigger female alongst with? She seemed fearsome, and commanded them all to attack them so. If she was around, it would be a need to flee.

Tail now down, they looked at the wolf with blue eyes in a silence. A green gaze wandering around, trying to sense if there was more, or if this one could be attacked.. They looked delicious.

Stride by stride, he went on towards the stranger, and for all the wetness, gauging scent was not coming easily despite his efforts. But, he couldn't get rid of the sense of familiarity that appearances granted him, sending him back to the day when Revui had come to challenge the mountain. Even that memory alone spiked his nerves, dialing him up already. Then, it had been a confusing appearance--one that seemed to take advantage of the mountain's internal chaos. Already, Jarilo didn't trust it and that was before he could get picky about who he found lingering on the Spear's doorstep like this.

Stranger, what are you doing here..? he asked, half calling out, though as space had eased away between them there was hardly any need now as he closed in a few more body lengths. The dark Ostrega kept on his toes, and hesitated in the pause he pulled into. Something in him wanted to keep moving but now stopped, he did raise his tail in earnest, and pinned the wolf with a judgemental look. He was almost certain this was the same trespasser from before, and his wet, bladed hackles gave a ripple in accordance.

Monty attacked.

As soon as the black wolf from the mountain spoke, it felt like an incentive to lunge forth. There was only one, despite a wary of more. However the nectar that could be tasted was too hard to resist, and they lunged with a feirce hunger to their eyes. There wasn't an aim, just a thirst.

Maw wide open, and ready to grab onto any flesh.

No longer than he words left his mouth, his suspicion was validated, and heavily. He sprung quickly back into motion as the cream wolf lunged for him without any pretense, while he was left unable to tell for what, exactly, as he swung for an arc out of reach. Narrowly enough for his tastes as he felt his fur pull, but for now, he was fully forced into retaliation. The rain's persistent wetness though, may complicate, though he was confident in himself, as the mountain had raised him. So close to home, the dark beta would not hesitate.

Long and lean himself, Jarilo angled his body in a half-moon around the wolf, hopefully bending his back half out of reach while he sought to gather his momentum even in a close proximity. When he returned the gesture he had been met with, he lunged for the wolfeater's ribs--low in his center of gravity, reaching with teeth first, and if contact was his, more could follow.

taking monty out!! stowing them away until further notice

The man went down, another one that went for the ribs. Monty found it odd how they all went down, finding it easier to aim what they so desire. Though with such arrogant thoughts, on the delight of an easy meal, the corner of their eyes gave an alert to the beast. They thought they saw the frenzy of more dark wolves down the mountain, not realizing they were simple shadows.

So when the cannibal dodged, they continued to run.

They prefer survival.

His teeth clicked shut over nothing but open air, the beast dodging his advance. When he began to rally for his next, not intending to let one dodge deter him so soon, he quickly noticed the creamy wolf's new retreat that seemed to come as suddenly as his lunge. Confusion came for the guardian of the mountain then, even with wearing his new defensive aggression, but even if it was what he ultimately wanted.. it still seemed suspicious; he had no satisfaction from a hit, although perhaps, just his retaliation was enough? Something simply felt unsettling about it, so to keep the nerves away, he pursued the flight for a time--at least until the wolfeater was gone from the glen.

When he stopped, and turned back towards the Spear, the rain was starting up again. He would find his sister first to tell her what he had found, and stew on this second.
