she ran as she was born to do, the sand stretching endless under her churning legs

after the scent of her brothers @Knaven and @Lionel

where had they gone? did they hunt seal, or hare? their pawprints carved down the coast, lionel's errant and knaven's true.

bijou smiled to herself while a shadow of a gull darted in the winds high above.

"sea rabbits. stupid." knaven had led them inland, but lionel had come back to search the sands for any signs of the others. despite all his bluster, he truly did care.
"bijou!" he grunted; her willowy frame was a shadow against the beaten sands. "did you get lost sniffing your own ass?" he teased in a shout, long limbs scoring the shoreline as he raced toward his sister.

the gull was gone. always the first sign lionel was here, second only to his mouth.

a glint of mischief in the seafarer's eyes as she met her favorite brother, wearing an eerily similar grin. smells better than yours, lionerd bijou teased, running her slim muzzle along the sloped shoulder of her brother. you eat recently? i could go for something besides seafare -- get the stank of fish out of your breath, too.

The rogue trotted into the scene with a frown and a glance toward the blue-grey coat of Bijou who had surprisingly found her way to them without much trouble. Just as he had arrived, he caught the snide comment from the girl and he sneered coldly toward the two of them.

Without a word, the earthen wolf stood nearby and watched his siblings... interact with each other.

bijou crowed back at him with a mockery — he hadn't called her something stupid like bee-poo or whatever fast enough. leveling his tongue for another crack at dissing his sister, lionel stopped and glanced toward helicoptering knaven.
"look what i found," he hooted toward the wolverine, dancing through the waterlogged sand. "only delayed by a year or so." that's right, slow-ass.

their banter carried over the waves, attracting the grim presence of their somber brother.

ah, to hell with seriousness and being found  -- bijou flashed a subtle glance to Lionel, a smile curving her lips --

he would know that smile meant, for he had seen it a thousand times. how many times had the pair circled around a hapless sibling, tormenting?

bijou pulled in a lazy circle around knaven, waiting for her brother to do the same. a hyenid cackle brushed from her lips as she skulked, before aiming first a nip towards knaven's chest, then his tail --

a game -- her favorite -- knaven in the middle.

It did seem that Lionel was rather pleased by the presence of Bijou. Knaven watched the two for a few seconds more before the stormy girl approached him with that familiar hideous half-smirk and mischievous gleam in her gaze. The earthy male did not stir from his place; instead he waited for her to find her footing and to aim her nips with careful precision before the hackles along his neck and back lifted and the warm wood of his eyes darted to her.

Without warning, Knaven swung his head around and aimed a playful bite for her muzzle.

bijou smirked that snarky roguish way she did, and lionel tittered, immediately moving to flank knaven on the other side. it wasn't a truly fair game, which enamoured him all the same; when his calmer sibling moved for bijou, lionel swept in to aim a nip along knaven's unguarded shoulder.
he leapt back at once, snickering; the murkwater green of his eyes danced as the sand slipped underpaw and he prepared himself for another teasing feint.

their quarry held his ground - good.

bijou lunged, and was met with a heavy bite to her snout.

she retracted, rubbing the stinging site with a paw while lionel closed the gap.

this time, the gull circled while lionel kept knaven busy. she waited, tail arced -- and then she too joined the fray, aiming a nip at knaven's hocks before darting away in a game of chase.

It did not take long for Knaven to grow tired of his sibling’s teasing.

When the two of them bounced in and out of reach, aiming nips where they would draw the most attention, the earth-colored hound stiffened. Though he was young and had not found a good way to contain the tidal wave of feeling that existed beneath his roguish smirk and blood-touched gaze. However, to deny his siblings their fun? He was certain he could manage anything.

Knaven stood with a tense frame. His sights wandered from one to the other, but he did not make another move to stop them or punish them for their games. The young druid simply seemed willing to accept their taunting. He hoped that by removing his reaction, they would lose their drive to continue.

bijou got a faceful, and lionel tittered. as soon as it had begun, however, the teasing was over. lionel only found knaven's reactions to be fun, and deprived of them, he whirled with a huff onto bijou. there he clacked his own teeth and sought to bowl her over into the sand, jumping aside if she came for him then.
"we should probably eat," lionel observed lamely. hunger was second nature to the boy, for long limbs and a flirtatious mien demanded a fuckload of calories, and skittering around on the beach would not solve that problem.

ok fun was over. knaven cast a wet blanket on the whole brigade.

bijou slipped off, narrowly missing being upended by a swipe from wily Lionel. she leapt in agile fashion away -- eat shit motherfucker.

nothing left to do but tersely mimick fun police. bij puffed her proud chest and stood at attention, crossing her eyes and sticking out her tongue as she waited for knaven to say whatever was on his mind.

The druid was unphased by Bijou's display. Such mockery only delighted him. She looked good standing properly. It was too bad that wicked grin never faded from her features. Such was life, he figured. Weren't they all imperfect in their own way?

A smirk streaked across the yearling's muzzle. Knaven did not move his stance, but he drew his crown upward, peering at his sister with a fiendishly hot gaze. There was wickedness there. That look doesn't suit you, Jou, Knaven chided her in a near whine. The druid's frame rose in one breath and then fell, releasing the tension in the rogue. He put a few paces between himself and the troublesome duo. His gaze never quite left them, though.

"yeah if you get stuck like that you'll be even uglier," lionel tittered on the tail of knaven's words. he was annoyed that neither of them seemed to have acknowledged the gnawing of his ever-present hunger. his brother was moving off, and the stag glanced his way once before trying to nip for bijou's nape a second time.
"guess we'll have to eat the weakest," he declared, expecting her to knock him flat even as he tried to preemptively avoid that sort of humiliation.

bijou earned a hard stare from knaven. she uncrossed her eyes and grinned a toothsome grin in response. "might make me as ugly as you two."

he did not trust them. understandable. she thought of aiming a nip at his feet, but the man was well guarded. also understandable.

"that's you, buddy boo." bijou rejoined after lionel's mark, fangs unsheathed as he aimed a rough nip at her neck. they wouldn't find anything to eat bickering like crabs on the shore, so bijou gave both a look before she began to seek out scents of an easy meal.

Knaven couldn’t help but snicker at the other two’s bickering.

It was common enough to have one of them trying to take a dig at another. That was how it had been since they’d been young and tossed to the sea. There was something about the mean retorts that brought out their sense of familial love and bonding, or so he imagined. They never really meant the things they said, and nothing was ever done to the point that they were hellbent on never returning.

The druid lowered his crown and sniffed at the earth a few times before trotting a bit further inland, trailing after the scent of seal. They were strange creatures, but they’d make a suitable meal for the trio.

she was so fuckin' rude. lionel backed off at the sight of bijou's teeth, frisking around her flank before he circled back around to knaven.
he too dropped his muzzle, deciding to defer toward their brother in whatever the choice of menu item was. the wolverine had never steered them wrongly, and lionel for all his faults was nothing if not loyal to the concept of family.
though when bijou joined them, the stag would try to trip her before truly focusing on the hunt at hand.

sweet merciful silence.

it didn't last long, as lionel tripped her. "MOTHERFU-- LIONEL!" she turned upon him with a hard thrust of teeth in retort. fuckin' anus. one last glowering gaze cast his way before she trailed after the wolverine and his scent of seal.

one ear was always turned back to her stinkweasel brother -- and one forward, for the party pooper.

You guys wanna fade and have a more current one?

The druid would not spoil her fun by telling her there was no need to keep an eye on him. After all, Knaven thought it would be more fun to watch Bijou try to juggle multiple targets instead of focusing on the larger threat: Lionel.

She barked back at the stag and sought to make her mark against him. Knaven snickered softly and continued his trek forward, expecting that the other two would follow him in their time. If they fell too far behind, he would seek food that they might share before they would move on. They had a good stretch of beach yet to cover, he felt.

YEAH

lionel chortled at an obnoxious volume, then fell into step beside his sister. there were things to be done, things to be found. flesh to be rended. siblings to annoy.
off he went, alternating between travel alongside knaven and falling back near bijou.
