Boldness, and trust, would pay off. He focused on the baby and wished Bronco well with the entirety of the rest of them while he had to laser focus on getting this ended quickly before something could go south. With the calves further distressed cries soon in his ears, he didn't want to rush anything, but this was going to get tiresome for everyone if it didn't go down soon--his heart was racing right out of his ribs, adrenaline sang, and this was a big undertaking; he felt luck was on their side still. Best act fast.

On arrival, while Atlas had the first chance, and with the chase's momentum he tackled mercilessly into its haunch. He dug his teeth in viciously, planting the rest of him against its kicks and thrashes that jostled him about. Antares tried to keep it from fleeing while his brother had its neck, so until it stopped fighting back, he was planted--teeth first in the situation. Unless it majorly ripped him away in what he hoped were the calf's final moments, this was locked on and it was going nowhere without him.

Last post from meeee Thanks for joining!
He pursued the group of hunters, huffing and puffing from the running and dodging he'd already had to do, and watched with gleaming eyes as they found their positions, and moved in on the calf with Atlas grabbing at its throat, and Antares making an escape impossible by bowling it over at its haunches. Meerkat hung back, which was just as he'd asked her to do, but as he reached her side, he gestured, and moved in to arc his way around to the back of the creature, where he would seek control over its shoulder, aiming to bite the back of its neck to make sure it was held still while Atlas bit into its neck. He was a bit late to the party- but keen to help, until the creature stopped moving.

He panted still as he looked up, exhausting from all the running, but very impressed that they'd worked so well as a team, ad that his sister had been able (and welcome!) to participate in the hunt, albeit functioning as a chaser and not a killer. At least this time, she'd been able to get an up close view of the mechanics- and might be called upon soon to join in with the rest of them.

Regardless, they had a meal to eat, but not first without appropriate thanks. "Ouf! Great job, all around," He said, sending a glance to Atlas, whose quick movements had brought the calf to a halt, and Antares whose strength had pinned it down. "How 'bout we lighten the load a bit, have a quick snack here an' then haul it up the mountain once we've taken some of the weight off it?" He suggested, with a laugh. He was sure they would all be in good spirits, following the successful hunt.

This was a lot of fun! Thanks everyone ;-;

The group had brought their target down, and when the calf had finally ceased its thrashing and crying, Atlas drew his head up to check that his fellow hunters were well. Bronco had joined their portion of the group and Antares had provided a good deal of force against the prey. They made a great team, he felt.

When his lungs had ceased their heavy rising and falling and they had taken a good portion of the kill for themselves, Atlas worked with the others to fill the caches where it was needed. Having fresh prey for the others would do wonders for the pack. The growing pups would be filled well, if anything. And when they had all finished with the work of the hunt, the dark young Ostrega had bid them a good night before setting his sights on the borders and beginning a patrol.
