two of them -- toad and astara -- swept upon the redsand bull.

he was ready, whirling around with teeth bared. astara did not shirk.

no bear ever did.

she was upon him as violent as wildfire, their teeth clashing and clicking. raking, drawing blood. in her sightline a stream of red from tissue torn by the brute's teeth. her blood welling in thick drops down her cheek.

she made a bid then for the meat of his neck as they disengaged, envisioning the soft arterial pump of blood just mere milimeters underneath. meanwhile a dull pain knocked around her skull, aching every time she moved.

Derg moved like a horse from the starting gates.
He launched himself into the mouth of the bear.

Evien planted himself defiantly in the way.
Derg would smirk if he had time.

He dipped his head, aiming to smash his cranium into Evien's snout. A sensitive place. And he couldn't bite if he had no teeth. It'd be like some gummy little puppy trying to help it's parents fight off a pack of coyotes in the dead of winter.

He wouldn't stand a chance.

The skull that connected with his muzzle caused Evien's head to snap back momentarily, and the taste of blood filled his mouth from where he'd bitten down on his own tongue. He fought back the urge to gag, nose wrinkling up and ears pressing back against his skull.

Ow.

It took him a half a second to recover enough to dive around and snap at the side of Derg's neck. His own attack wouldn't be as heavy as the Saints wolf's was - he wasn't much of a fighter, after all - but he'd do his best.

donovan whirled back to astara and he- fine, toad would meet him there. the two leaders tore at eachother while the frogboy dove for don's shoulder and forelegs, sinking his fangs into whatever he could, blood sweet on his tongue. when the shaking of the battle above him makes it difficult to hold on, toad swings his muzzle in ripping his teeth away. let it be painful. allies no more, and never again, not with their inability to meet the bear's high standards, their ridiculous demands. astara moved for the throat, and meanwhile toad shifted to the man's side, and around his back again, opening his jaws for the back hock once more and attempting to plant his teeth in there.

Tagging @Astara since the thread hasn’t been updated in a while (again. Sorry it was my fault again :’>)

Rolls here! Rolled a 1d10+2 and got an 11. Attack directed underneath/on Astara’s jaw/throat area. Just to make it a little less confusing lol.

Donovan is not in good shape. He needs to run. That would be the smart move, especially before any more little choppers showed up. Yet here he is still trying to defend off these two before him to even get that chance.

Astara had done serious damage to his leg. Yet he bit her back, teeth lashing and gnawing at her pretty little face. Then Toad comes at him, ripping up his shoulder and forearms. Lord, he can hardly feel but a pinch of pain but there’s so much blood. How interesting the things adrenaline can do for oneself.

So he backs up a hair, going into a defensive position. Tucking his back end further and lowering his curled tail to prevent his hind legs from getting chewed on. For if his Achilles’ tendon is ripped he’d never be able to walk with that leg again. Yet, he doesn’t forgot about the problem he has right in front of him — two to be exact. He hopes that Derg can disable Evien enough for help him with these two. Hell, Donovan can tell Evien isn’t trained as a warrior. He’d have his neck snapped in between his teeth in no time — dead.

For now though, he has to defend himself even further. Lashing out at the more aggressive attacker of the two, Astara, he would lunge quickly like a cobra ready to strike. His lowered position making him smaller, closer to the ground. He’d successfully snatch up Astara by the tender skin just below her jaw. Originally aiming for her face, looking to potentially puncture one or both eyes, but he’s not that lucky is he? He wouldn’t have enough time to avoid Toads attack, but he would surely do some damage to Astara before he goes out.

Evien lashed back with untrained bloodlust.
He wanted to fight. He wanted to be Ursus.
Evien was not. He wasn't a warrior nor guardian and lacked the strength behind his blows.
Derg was only quietly confident. Kept himself together and poised as Evien struck his neck.

He followed through like a snake, looking to put Evien on his ass.
Derg aimed to snatch his heel and pull his rear leg out - just enough to escape. Evien might lunge after him, but if he didn't have his feet under him he couldn't give chase.

Derg glanced to Kynareth, hoping he had the chance too. If not, Derg would have to be a distraction.
They wanted Ky's blood. Derg wouldn't be spared for throwing a spanner in the works, but they'd escape their jaws today.

Evien was not trained. Could not match up with wolves that were. But he served his purpose here - distracting and keeping his packmates from becoming outnumbered.

His tongue was swollen and painful in his mouth. Derg knocked him off, and sprinted away, and there was really no need to give chase.

Astara and Toad would likely do that.

Evien growled and spit out a mouthful of blood, ears pressed back to his skull. He wouldn't be fast enough to catch up with them, so he'd stay at the border, bristling and defensive, until his packmates returned.
